Class 2 dinner
Shan Yun promised Jiang Zhe a dinner party and he fulfilled it on the weekend.
Everyone agreed to meet in West Lane on the weekend. Shan Yun asked Jiang Zhe to call a few classmates from Class 2 who he got along well with, and together with Jixiang, they stood in front of a leisure bar.
It was noon on the weekend and there was no customer in the Xingyue Leisure Bar. Suddenly, a group of teenagers rushed in and really scared the sister at the bar. Jixiang and Zou Yue greeted them, and everyone found a spacious place and put the tables together.
Jiang Zhe was the most impolite. He came in, took the menu, and ordered a bunch of things. He was about to order wine, but Dan Yun stopped him.
"Brother Yun, I will be 19 in a few days, so I can drink a little."
"Just a drink."
Jiang Zhe had no choice but to give up.
Shan Yun observed the decoration of the leisure bar. He didn't take a close look at it from outside the door last time. Now he saw that although the layout was simple, it was very comfortable to look at.
There is also a small stage with a karaoke machine, a microphone, and guitars and keyboards on the side.
"So the place you are talking about is Zou Weichen's leisure center. Why didn't you tell us earlier? We could have told him in advance and maybe there would be a discount." Jixiang whispered into Shan Yun's ear.
"No, I can still afford this meal."
"Then why don't you invite Zou Weichen to come play with you? He should be at home."
Jixiang stood up and prepared to ask Zou Yue, just then Zou Weichen came down from the upstairs and saw a few people arguing, among whom there were a few people who looked familiar to him or even knew him.
"Hi, I was just about to ask Sister Yue if you were home. We are having a dinner together and wanted to invite you to join us." Jixiang waved and greeted.
During the break, Zou Weichen heard Shan Yun and others discussing a weekend dinner at the back of the classroom, but he didn't expect that the location they chose was his home.
"Xiao Chen, you go play with them too, I'll do it." Zou Yue just came out of the kitchen wearing an apron, holding several bottles of drinks in her hands. Zou Weichen took them over and said, "Sister, let me do it."
Zou Weichen came to the table with a drink. Shan Yun looked up at him, and before Shan Yun could speak, Jiang Zhe took the lead, "Hey, top scholar, this is your home, come, sit here." He pushed Zou Weichen to the place where Jixiang originally sat, took a cup, and poured a drink for Zou Weichen first.
Shan Yun looked at Jiang Zhexian's attentiveness with a puzzled look on his face. Doesn't this kid have some opinions about Zou Weichen? What's wrong with him today?
"Are you guys here for a dinner party?" Zou Weichen ignored Jiang Zhe's offer to pour him a drink, sat down and asked Shan Yun beside him.
"Yeah." Facing Zou Weichen's puzzled question, Shan Yun somehow felt a little guilty. He avoided Zou Weichen's gaze and played with the cooked material cup in his hand, "This is closer, and I've tried it before. I chose this place because I think it tastes good."
"Come on, number one scholar, let me have a drink with you first." Jiang Zhe picked up the drink cup and drank it first.
Shan Yun took advantage of the time when Zou Weichen was drinking to pull Jiang Zhe back to his other side and whispered, "What are you trying to do? You were still talking about me yesterday, why are you being so attentive today?"
Jiang Zhe also whispered: "I did that for you."
For me?
Shan Yun had no idea what Jiang Zhe was talking about. Before he could ask any more questions, a group of people suddenly rushed in through the door.
As soon as Shan Yun looked up, he saw a crowd coming towards them. There were many familiar faces among them, and they seemed to be classmates from Class 2.
Jiang Zhe turned around, waved his hand and called out loudly: "Here, here."
Shan Yun was embarrassed, and within two months, he encountered the same situation again. But he couldn't keep a straight face, after all, he didn't say that he would only invite Jiang Zhe and a few others.
Never mind. The students in Class 2 are pretty nice too. Let’s just treat it as a farewell dinner.
Shan Yun comforted himself a little, picked up the drink and drank it in one gulp, then stood up and went to the bar to place another order.
Jixiang came out of the kitchen with some freshly prepared snacks. He was startled to see the room full of people. He walked up to Shan Yun and said, "Mr. Yun, you are so generous. Please treat the whole class."
Shan Yun rolled his eyes at him, and before he could say anything, Jiang Zhe pulled him into the crowd, where he gave an impassioned speech to everyone, followed by several rounds of drinks.
Shan Yun sat down at his seat and realized that Zou Weichen had disappeared. He looked around and saw Jixiang standing at the door of the kitchen, using sign language to sign to him. Shan Yun figured out what was going on: You guys play, we're going to play.
Shan Yun followed Jixiang's gesture and saw Zou Weichen who had come to the kitchen to help out at some point.
People kept arriving, and it eventually turned into a gathering for Class 2, filling up the lounge bar.
Shan Yun had been in Class 2 for less than two months. During that time, most of the students in Class 2 were doing outdoor training, leaving Shan Yun alone in the classroom to study. Actually, he didn't have much interaction with Class 2. Watching them chattering about all kinds of interesting things in the past, Shan Yun couldn't get a word in.
When he was bored, Javi's phone call saved him. Shan Yun said to everyone, "Order whatever you want to eat" and went out to answer the phone.
The laughter and chatter in the lounge bar could be heard clearly outside.
After Shan Yun finished the call, he stood outside and looked at the group of people inside who were chatting about everything and everything. It was so lively, and he thought of the party two months ago.
After he was sure that he was going to transfer, he decided to invite Liang Yuzhao, Jia Wei, and a few of his classmates to have a meal before leaving. In the end, a group of people came for no apparent reason, ate everything, exchanged a few fake greetings, and left.
Just now, Jia Wei's phone call was also complaining that Liang Yuzhao seemed to have become a different person. He made an appointment to video chat with Shan Yun, but he found an excuse. Bei Jia Wei ran into him going to the amusement park with a rich classmate from the next class.
In the past, Liang Yuzhao was the most obedient friend behind him, but now he has left and no one has cared about him anymore.
Shan Yun sighed, and then looked at the noisy Class 2 students in the store who had been taking care of him for the past month. He didn't care about the money, he just didn't want to treat this group of sincere people the same way he treated his former classmates.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" Shan Yun leaned against the kitchen door, half of his body exposed, and asked.
"You're here too." Jixiang was sitting on a small stool skewering beef. "Come and help."
Shan Yun also pulled up a small stool and sat down. To be honest, he had never done this before. In the past, he would buy ready-made barbecue. Even when the class went on a barbecue trip in spring or autumn, he would always be the one waiting to eat.
Shan Yun took the bamboo skewer and imitated Jixiang's manner, clumsily skewering the beef.
Zou Weichen and Zou Yue entered the kitchen and saw two people sitting there helping. Zou Yue hurriedly said, "Hey, why are you two staying here? Aren't you going out to play?"
"I'm not from Class 2, so I'm not very familiar with them. Shan Yun just arrived, so I don't have much to talk about with them. Why don't you just come and help? These people eat like a pack of hungry wolves, and you two can't handle it alone." Jixiang skewered the meat skillfully.
Zou Weichen was just starting to eat, and turned around to look at the two of them. He put down the shovel, walked to Shan Yun, and took the bamboo stick from Shan Yun, "Let me do it, or you can help serve the food to them."
Shan Yun knew that he was clumsy, and he guessed that Zou Weichen couldn't stand it anymore, so he made excuses for him. However, he was ruthlessly exposed by Jixiang, "Mr. Yun, Weichen probably can't stand your clumsiness either."
Shan Yun stuck out his tongue, stood up, washed his hands and took the plate away. He came back soon and pulled a small stool to sit down. He didn't know how to skewer meat, so he skewered crispy sausages.
Shan Yun asked Zou Weichen to demonstrate it once before he could learn it in a realistic way.
"Actually, it was my mom who taught Yuejie and Weichen these skills of skewering and grilling. When I was in high school, Weichen had just moved in, and Yuejie helped out at my house, and Weichen always went to help after school. But I lived with my grandparents at that time, and I seldom saw Yuejie and the others." Jixiang began to talk about the past.
"I am also grateful to Auntie Ji, otherwise I wouldn't have this skill. I am also grateful to Grandma Xu for taking me in, otherwise I wouldn't be able to save money to do this leisure activity."
Zou Yue also joined in the conversation, and they began talking about interesting things that happened in the past. Shan Yun asked a lot of questions, but only Zou Weichen listened seriously and silently.
Zou Yue took the skewers they had prepared and said, "Xiao Chen is a bit quiet, so you should take him out to play more often in the future, otherwise he will be bored at home all the time. You guys should go out quickly, and I'll take care of the rest."
Zou Yue rushed the three of them out of the kitchen. Jiang Zhe and his friends were already having a blast, singing and playing guitar. Jixiang also went to order some songs.
Shan Yun and Zou Weichen were washing their hands at the sink when Shan Yun realized that he had accidentally pricked his hand with a bamboo stick. He felt the pain when it touched the water and pulled out the thorn. Blood oozed out of the tiny wound.
He squeezed the wound and was about to rinse it with water, but Zou Weichen saw it, pulled his finger over to look at the wound, and took out a Band-Aid from the drawer of the counter and put it on him.
The tables outside were already full, so Shan Yun simply sat on a stool at the bar and watched them make a fuss. Zou Weichen found two cups and poured some drinks.
Shan Yun looked at the guitar and electronic keyboard placed on the small stage being played randomly by Jiang Zhe and his friends.
In fact, he looked around as soon as he came in, and recalled the guitar and singing sounds he often heard at night, which seemed to come from here. Who could it be?
"You have here..."
Zou Weichen looked up. Shan Yun was about to ask if there was anyone singing here, but then he thought, what's the point of asking? Maybe it would be awkward for someone he didn't know, so he changed the subject, "Is it okay for them to play those instruments like this?"
"It's okay. It was originally for guests to play, but no one has played it for a long time."
This is the suburbs, so there are not many people here. Although some of the food is delicious, it can't make up for the fact that there are not many people here.
The two of them sat there with nothing to talk about. Normally, Dan Yun would have already thrown out one topic after another, but today he seemed a little listless, lying on the stage.
"Are you worried?"
Shan Yun listened to the question and looked up at Zou Weichen.
"Are you reluctant to leave Class 2?"
"Not really. I wasn't here for long, and I was just a little closer to Jiang Zhe. But you can see that Jiang Zhe is just a sticking plaster, and you can't get rid of him." Shan Yun supported his head and looked at his classmates who were playing. Suddenly, he remembered something and turned to look at Zou Weichen. "By the way, have you promised the principal?"
"What about you? Did you agree to Teacher Zhao's suggestion?" Zou Weichen asked back, looking directly into Shan Yun's eyes, seeming a little anxious and nervous.
"I didn't agree. I had chosen science when I was in high school."
Zou Weichen leaned forward, supporting his chin with his hands, and did not answer Shan Yun's question. He just watched Jiang Zhe and the others laughing heartily. He seemed to be infected by them and the corners of his mouth also raised slightly.
Shan Yun lay on the bar, staring at Zou Weichen sideways. The last time Zou Weichen was standing on the terrace stroking the cat, he stood very straight. Unexpectedly, he kept a straight posture even when sitting. That face was the epitome of an energetic young man.
Zou Weichen looks very good when he smiles, but why doesn’t he like to laugh?
"Why don't you like to laugh? It would be nice if you could laugh like last time." Shan Yun was just thinking in his heart, but he didn't expect to blurt out the words unconsciously.
Zou Weichen looked at him, as if he had not expected Shan Yun to suddenly say this. For a moment he was unable to react and did not know how to answer.
His ears suddenly turned red.
