Transfer school first meeting
Night is the busiest time in the commercial pedestrian street.
The gorgeous neon lights make the streets look hazy and dreamy. The shop windows on both sides of the street are decorated with lights and colorful decorations. It looks prosperous all the way. Stores are vying with each other to play loudspeakers announcing Spring Festival specials and festive music.
The lively tail end of the Spring Festival is still lingering in everyone’s heart.
Shan Yun, wearing a long black down jacket with his hands in his pockets, leaned against the door of a hot pot restaurant and watched his classmates say goodbye to him one by one.
He lowered his head slightly, tucked his neck into his clothes, covered with his clothes and hat, leaving only a pair of tired eyes exposed. He listened to the smiling greetings and blessings, and only nodded symbolically occasionally.
In his heart, he was unwilling to even respond on the surface.
To others, it seemed that he had shrunk himself up because of the cold, leaving only his eyes.
But in reality, Dan Yun had been holding it in for a whole night and could no longer endure it. He could only shrink himself into a hidden place, bite his lips lightly, and deliberately suppress the restlessness in his heart.
Forget it, we are all leaving, so let’s just leave it to those classmates who call it dignity.
Two boys stood behind him, carrying large and small bags given by their classmates, and watched each person leave.
Until the last person turned around, Shan Yun unconcealedly breathed a sigh of relief and stood up straight.
At this moment he still didn't understand why so many people showed up to see him off when he had only called a few people. He couldn't even remember the names of some of them and had no idea that they were classmates from the same class.
The fine snow floating in the sky became denser and denser, and pedestrians quickened their pace.
Shan Yun stretched out his hand, but couldn't catch a single drop. He looked forward, and the colorful scene in front of him became increasingly blurry. This dinner that didn't seem like a farewell finally came to an end in such a lively atmosphere.
The restlessness in his heart gradually dissipated, and what followed was endless confusion. Tonight was so long and tormenting for him.
And how should he deal with it in the future?
The tall boy at the back nudged the short boy next to him with his elbow and kept signaling with his eyes. The short boy's eyes turned red, but he still shook his head.
"How come my classmates knew about tonight's dinner?"
"I saw you were leaving, so I said something in the group. After all, we were classmates, and you had spent a lot of money on eating, drinking and having fun with everyone. Everyone remembered your kindness, so I came to see you off."
Shan Yun sighed helplessly.
"Mr. Yun, why don't you stay here? You don't want to leave, and everyone is here to see you off, which shows that everyone is reluctant to let you go..." the tall boy spoke again.
The cell phone rang inappropriately. Shan Yun didn't turn around, nor did he respond to Liang Yuzhao's words. He took out his cell phone and answered it. "Uncle Zhao, are you here? I'll be right out."
After Shan Yun hung up the phone, he lowered his head slightly, waited until he had dealt with his emotions, turned around and gave the two people behind him a smile.
This smile was Shan Yun's answer to them.
"Let's go." Shan Yun took off his hat, pulled the zipper on his head halfway down, and walked ahead.
The three of them walked to a car on the street. Shan Yun stood quietly and watched his two friends stuff boxes of different sizes into the trunk. When they closed the trunk, Shan Yun shrugged and said with a smile:
"Zhao, Xiaojia, I'm leaving."
Jia Wei is the shortest and the youngest. When he heard Shan Yun's words, his nose felt sore. "Brother Yun, let me and Brother Zhao take you there the day after tomorrow."
Shan Yun turned around, hugged him, and patted his shoulder. "You've been crying all night and you're still crying. I told you not to send anyone away. Have a good Lantern Festival. You still have to make up for the lessons the next day."
He let go of Jia Wei's hand, put Jia Wei's hat on him, turned around and punched Liang Yuzhao in the chest, "Zhao, after I leave, don't bully Xiao Jia, take care of him, don't cause trouble, and study hard."
After Shan Yun finished speaking, he turned around and got into the car, closed the door, and waved to the outside.
The car started slowly, leaving the two reluctant people behind.
Shan Yun rolled down the car window and slumped in the seat. He turned on his phone and clicked on the text message from ten minutes ago, remembering what Liang Yuzhao had just said, "Everyone can't bear to part with you."
Looking at the glaring numbers on the bank card deduction message, he laughed at himself, clicked delete, and looked up with a cold expression, "Uncle Zhao, those things in the trunk are all lost."
"Well, in the end you let me do whatever I want with it anyway. I'll ask the waste collector to sell it tomorrow."
Shan Yun looked towards Uncle Zhao, but he didn't see his face. He had been pretending to be calm, but he finally laughed out loud, "These scraps finally have some value."
After he finished speaking, he turned his head and leaned against the car window, raising his face to enjoy the stinging pain of the snow water hitting his face. This was reminding him that he was finally leaving this messy place.
Outside the car window, the bright lights and bustle of the city were left behind by the speeding car.
"Xiaoyun, wake up, we're here."
Shan Yun's curled up legs were pulled twice. He pulled off the down jacket covering his face, sat up, and yawned, as if he had not slept enough. The earplugs in his ears fell on the seat, and passionate music came out of the earplugs.
Shan Yun squinted his eyes to adjust to the light in front of him.
He didn't expect to arrive so soon.
Uncle Zhao had already opened the trunk and taken the luggage out of the car.
Shan Yun hugged the driver's seat, rested his chin on the seat, looked at the unfamiliar environment, and was glad that he finally left the place where he had lived for seventeen years, but he felt confused again the next second.
What will life be like in the future? This question kept circling in his mind.
"Xiaoyun, don't get out of the car yet."
Hearing Uncle Zhao's call, Shan Yun slowly climbed out of the car, put on a down jacket, put the earplugs hanging on his shoulders back into his ears, and looked around.
A very strange and new place.
An old man with white hair and a hunched back came out from the door. When he saw Shan Yun, he took two steps at a time and walked up to him. The old man's eyes lit up, and he smiled kindly. He stretched out his trembling hand towards Shan Yun, but Shan Yun took a step back and avoided the old man's hand.
The old man didn't seem to be disappointed by Shan Yun's subconscious avoidance. He smiled with tears in his eyes, gestured up and down with his outstretched hand, and kept saying "You've grown taller, taller".
Shan Yun stared at the old woman. Could it be that the old woman with white hair and a kind face in front of him was his grandmother?
He looked around again, his gaze returned to the old man's face, and his memory went back to eleven years ago.
Eleven years ago, when he was six years old, he came to live in his grandmother's house for half a year because of his parents' work. In his memory, his grandmother's house and the surrounding area were all dilapidated wooden houses with a moldy smell, the streets were full of potholes, and the river next to it was full of garbage and stinking.
His grandmother would roll up her sleeves, put her hands on her hips, and walk around all day long, talking and swearing in a dialect that Dan Yun couldn't understand, and she always liked to chatter incessantly to him.
Although the young Shan Yun could not understand his grandmother's dialect, he could feel that his grandmother seemed to dislike him. He was afraid of his grandmother, so after he returned, he never mentioned this place or the people here again.
Now, the environment here has been completely renewed. The energetic grandmother back then has now become gray-haired, with a hunched back and a kind face.
Time can actually destroy a person like this.
Uncle Zhao took the luggage from the trunk. When he passed by Shan Yun, he raised his hand and pulled out the earplugs in Shan Yun's ears, and said slightly reproachfully: "Shan Yun, call grandma quickly. Also, why are you wearing earplugs? It's rude."
"Hello, grandma." It was a very unfamiliar greeting.
"Yeah, he's taller and more handsome." Grandma spoke Mandarin with an accent and raised her hand to measure Shan Yun's height. She seemed particularly excited and happy about Shan Yun's arrival.
Uncle Zhao greeted grandma skillfully. Shan Yun didn't know what to say, but he didn't want to go in alone. He saw a bicycle parked by the door, so he walked over and sat on the bicycle, wearing earphones, with blurry eyes and an empty mind, watching them busy.
All the changes happened because of his words "I want to transfer schools", which turned out to be the only time his parents reached a consensus after so many long arguments. Then he was thrown here by his parents.
Xu Ru had promised to send him here in person yesterday, but she broke the promise because of work. This made him believe that he was a child abandoned by his parents.
The complex emotions of confusion, regret, expectation, determination and instability were fighting with each other in Shan Yun's heart, and finally sank into waves of irritability.
He pulled sunglasses out of his pocket and put them on to hide his emotions.
Grandma was preparing dinner when they arrived. She wanted to chat with Shan Yun for a while, but the food was being cooked in the kitchen, so she had to go into the kitchen to deal with the soup on the stove first.
Suddenly, a young man's voice came from upstairs, and the boy ran down the stairs several steps at a time, speaking in dialect.
It was another dialect that Shan Yun couldn't understand. The inexplicable irritation in his heart instantly roared wildly in his body.
The boy noticed two extra people in the house. He stopped at the last step and his eyes fell on Shan Yun at the door.
The boy was tall and thin, wearing a thin black and white sports suit that showed off his excellent body proportions. His hair was cut a little short, and he looked particularly sunny and energetic.
It's just that he's too thin.
Shan Yun glanced at the young man, then looked down at his standard winter outfit, and then looked at the other person. The sharp contrast made Shan Yun, who always felt that he was superior to the other person, feel that he had lost by a large margin at that moment.
The grandmother spoke to the boy with a smile, and nodded continuously after listening to what he said. It was obvious that the grandmother liked the boy very much.
But who is he?
In Shan Yun's impression, there was no one else in his grandmother's house except his grandmother and uncle, and no one who was about his age.
The boy looked at Shan Yun several times while speaking.
Although Shan Yun had doubts, he was in no mood to make new friends. He kept jumping between the pain of being abandoned by his parents and the joy of finally leaving home.
After the boy finished speaking, he waved goodbye to his grandmother, then walked to Shan Yun and stopped. He seemed to want to talk, but perhaps because it was their first meeting, he was a little reserved and just stared at Shan Yun.
Shan Yun was stared at by him several times, and his already irritable mood finally reached its peak. It was just the right time to vent. He raised his hand and pulled his sunglasses down a little, staring at the boy unceremoniously, "Is there something wrong?" His tone was full of impatience and his eyes were full of dissatisfaction.
The boy was stunned for a moment, seemingly not expecting the other party to be so rude to him. He lost the mood to show goodwill and put his hand on the front of the bicycle, "This is my bike, can you give it back to me?"
Shan Yun realized that he had misunderstood that the other person was coming to talk to him, and got off the car a little embarrassed, but his face-saving personality made him retain his last stubbornness, "If you don't tell me, who will understand?"
The young man was stunned again. He did not expect the boy in front of him to be so bad-tempered. He retracted his gaze and said lightly: "No one here is bothering you, right?" Then he rode away.
Shan Yun leaned against the wall, his hands in his pockets, and looked at the boy's back as he left. He stuck out his tongue at him and snorted, "Skinny guy."
"Shan Yun, what are you daydreaming about? Move your luggage."
"Oh." Shan Yun came to his senses and pushed the suitcase. His grandmother walked in front of him and when they went up the stairs, she reached out to carry the suitcase for Shan Yun.
Shan Yun looked up at his gray-haired grandmother. For some reason, he felt unhappy and said hurriedly, "No, I can do it myself."
"He is strong, let him do it himself." Uncle Zhao shouted from upstairs.
When the grandmother saw that Shan Yun refused to let go, she gave up and led everyone to the door of a room on the third floor, opened the door and motioned Shan Yun to go in.
