The man was about to lose his temper.
A frail woman walked out from behind.
She grabbed the man's hand, suppressing her anger.
"What are you doing? Why did you bring the child here?"
The man didn't speak, but the old woman beside him spoke up.
"I'm the one who sent him to exchange the child for food. If you want to blame someone, blame me!"
The woman stared at the old woman in disbelief.
"Mother, you are my own mother, and my child's maternal grandmother. How could you do such a thing while I was asleep?"
Then she pointed at the man and started cursing.
"Song Yi, my mother is confused, and are you confused too? Look at the child in your arms, so small and adorable, how can you bear to part with him?"
She snatched the child from the man's arms and cried her heart out.
The man knelt on the ground, slapping himself repeatedly across the face.
