Chapter 12 Donkey-hide gelatin

Qin Luo and his companions searched for a long time before finally finding a very small fabric shop.

This shop also sells ready-made clothes, but they're all men's wear made of linen.

Qin Liang stepped forward to inquire about the price: "Shopkeeper, how much is this outfit?"

The shopkeeper was delighted to see someone arrive, as he had already obtained the travel permit that day.

We're moving out tomorrow, and I didn't expect guests to come.

The shopkeeper was very polite.

"To be honest, today is the last day we're open. These clothes originally cost thirty coins, but if you want more, it'll be twenty-five!"

"Are there any children?"

The shopkeeper shook his head

"No, we really don't. Our family makes most of the child's clothes; we rarely buy them. How about I give you some extra needles and thread so your wife can alter them?"

Qin Liang thought for a moment and then agreed: "Then take twelve sets!"

He then turned to Qin Xian and asked, "Xiao Qi, how many sets do you want?"

Qin Xian thought for a moment: "Six sets, please! Do you have any shoes, shopkeeper?"

The shopkeeper, beaming with joy, had cleared out all his inventory.

"Yes, yes, but there are no children or women."

"Then let's get six more pairs of shoes!"

"Alright! Please wait a moment, sir!"

The shopkeeper went to fetch the goods with light steps.

Qin Xian was depressed

"What are we going to do? Clothes can be altered, but making shoes is such a hassle, and the worst part is Tao Zhi doesn't know how!"

Qin Liang wasn't in a hurry about this.

"When the time comes, Liu Zheng and Tao Zhi will take turns riding on the donkey cart with the children to get out of the drought-stricken area, and then they can buy it."

Qin Xian nodded: "Then that's the only way!"

Qin Luo was considering whether they could get them sneakers, since they would be walking for several months.

How many pairs of cloth shoes must these old men have worn out before they reach their destination?

The shopkeeper brought out the clothes and shoes, and also gave them a lot of needles and thread.

"Sir, the clothes cost 450 coins in total, and the cloth shoes are 7 coins a pair, totaling 42 coins. Adding the clothes, the total is 492 coins. Please give me 490 coins!"

After Qin Liang paid, Qin Xian loaded the goods onto the donkey cart, with Qin Luo following behind.

After buying the clothes, the three went to the pharmacy. Just as the apprentice was about to close, Qin Xian stepped forward.

"Little medicine boy, do you still have any medicine in the shop?"

The young pharmacist waved his hand: "They're all gone! They were just bought up by a group of people!"

Qin Liang sighed helplessly.

"Sigh! It's bad enough that we can't buy the medicine, but I wonder if Dr. You and the others managed to get it at all!"

"Uncle, you don't need to worry. Perhaps the medicine boy was referring to Grandpa You and his group as the people who bought the medicine!"

Since things had come to this, Qin Luo could only offer him this consolation…
