Qinling wiped the blood off the knife and chatted casually with Doctor You.
"Old friend, do you think the imperial court might descend into chaos?"
Doctor You stroked his beard.
"Who knows? Everyone wants to climb to that high position, and they'll kill each other without hesitation. Who knows who will be the one reaping the benefits?"
He handed the knife to Qin Ling.
"Forget it! I don't want to think about these irrelevant things anymore. We ordinary folks should just live our own lives!"

"You have a son now, and the key is that your honest son is actually somewhat involved in this matter. If you don't explain it to him clearly, aren't you afraid that something might happen to him?"
Doctor You sighed deeply.
"Those matters are for his valiant and extraordinary lord to ponder. I am merely a country doctor. All I can do for him is prepare more life-saving pills. We cannot and should not meddle in the affairs of those important figures!"
He paused for a moment, then continued...
“I come from a bad background, and I might be labeled a spy one day, which would implicate that child. There’s nothing wrong with him being honest and straightforward; he can do whatever he wants, unlike me, who has lived most of my life in such a cowardly way!”
Seeing that he was reminiscing about the past again, Qin Ling nudged him with her elbow.
Then she took out a small packet of candied fruit from her bosom and handed it to him.
"These were given to me by Luo Yatou. One of them was sweeter than honey. You should try some!"
Doctor You raised his head and became arrogant.
"Family is always closer. I went to great lengths for Luo Yatou back then! But she only remembers you, her great-grandfather. She doesn't remember me, the old man who traveled through mountains and rivers to gather herbs for her. Sigh! It's truly heartbreaking!"
Qin Ling rolled her eyes at him: "Where's your first-aid kit?"
Dr. You was baffled by what he said.
"No one was injured except for Old Lady Ma, and I don't want to treat her, so why would I bring the medical kit?"
Qin Ling patted his shoulder, her tone slightly aggrieved.
"You'll see when you check your medicine kit; I'm the one who should be jealous!"
Doctor You instantly understood, and grinned at Qin Ling twice.
He ran to the carriage to find his medicine box...
