Seeing that she was a little embarrassed, Qin Luo immediately changed the subject.
"By the way, Sister Wang, which direction is your home outside the city? How long does it take to get there by carriage?"
“If we head south out of the city, it will only take a little over an hour to get there. I’ll catch the carriage later. You two can sleep in the carriage for a while; your eyes are bloodshot.”
Qin Luo raised her hand to touch her eyes, thinking it must be from crying so much last night.
He smiled and accepted her kindness.
"Okay, then I'll trouble you, Sister Wang."
As he spoke, he handed her the key to another room.
"Sister Wang, I need to tidy up the carriage. Could you help me check out of the hotel? We can meet at the inn entrance later."
“Okay, why not? You go ahead, and the three of them will come with me so they won’t get in your way.”
Fanfan and Songsong couldn't tell the difference between good and bad words, but Wuhua could.
He frowned slightly and murmured softly.
"I won't get in the way!"
Xiushan Wang didn't hear what he said clearly, so he asked again.
"What?"
Wu Hua immediately smiled at her.
"It's nothing, I just said this snack is really delicious."
"It's delicious, I'll get you more later. When we get home, I'll ask your brother-in-law to make you something even better."
Wu Hua was surprised by this unexpected joy, and her smile widened even more.
"Okay, thank you, Sister Wang."
"Hey, we're family, no need to be so polite."
As he spoke, he reached out and touched Wu Hua's cheek.
Qin Luo saw the mixture of joy and sadness in her expression.
I knew she had a story to tell, but I wisely refrained from touching on her wounds.
After saying hello, they went to the stables in the backyard, while Xiushan Wang also led the three of them to the first floor.
As soon as Qin Luo saw his own carriage, he immediately entered the carriage.
Then they frantically stuffed it with things like grains, vegetables, fruits, and honey.
Clothes, bedding, and everything else were readily available. When she drove the carriage to the inn's entrance...
A donkey cart followed behind; yes, it was the donkey-hide gelatin that hadn't left the space for a long time.
Qin Luo saw Xiushan Wang coming out and quickly explained to her.
"Sister Wang, we ordered some things before, and they just arrived and filled the carriage. We could only buy a donkey cart from the delivery driver. Can you drive the carriage first, and I'll bring them along with you?"
Xiushan Wang lifted the carriage curtain and peeked inside. Good heavens, it was packed full!
Let alone a person, even if you throw a mouse in there, it'll squeeze out poop.
"How about I drive the donkey cart? The donkey cart is too bumpy. It will be more comfortable for you to drive the horse cart with the baby."
"No need, I think this donkey is quite intelligent."
Upon hearing Qin Luo praise her, Ejiao immediately raised its donkey head and brayed in response.
Xiushan was amazed by what she saw.
"This donkey seems to understand what we're saying."
Ejiao then called out again, as if in response.
Xiushan Wang hurried over and began to observe carefully.
"Girl, you've struck gold! This is a divine donkey!"
The praise for donkey-hide gelatin made me quite smug, and I was about to respond again.
But the looks Qin Luo and Wu Hua gave her made her swallow her scream.
After that, he stood there like a silly goose, pretending to be dumb.
Xiushan tried to coax it for a long time but it didn't react, so he was a little disappointed.
"It seems I was mistaken; it was just a coincidence."
Qin Luo just laughed it off.
"I bought it cheaply anyway, so even if I'm an idiot, I won't lose out."
As she spoke, she looked at the sun.
"Sister Wang, it's getting late, let's go home!"
Xiushan Wang then walked back to the carriage.
"Let's go, let's go now..."
Then she led the way in the horse-drawn carriage, with Qin Luo following behind in the donkey cart.
Perhaps it hadn't been out having fun for a long time, because when it started running around it it seemed to have gone mad.
Qin Luo berated him and whipped him several times before he finally slowed down.
Wu Hua gloated from the sidelines.
"You silly donkey, haven't you had enough of being beaten? Hahaha~"
Ejiao couldn't stand this insult, and after a series of "divine donkey tail swings," it buckled up.
It nearly knocked several people over, but Qin Luo stopped cursing at it after seeing this.
Silently, it allowed the vines to transform into their true form, clinging to its back, occasionally stimulating it with lightning.
After that, the donkey-hide gelatin was so well-behaved that anyone who didn't know better would think it had attended some kind of training course.
It didn't cause any more trouble all the way to the doorstep of Wangjia in Xiushan.
"This is my home. It's a bit run-down, so please don't mind!"
Qin Luo looked at the spacious and bright courtyard in front of her, and the persimmon tree in the courtyard laden with fruit.
I immediately thought of the Qin family; it had been a long time since I had sent a letter back.
I wonder how the elders are doing, and whether my cousins have made any progress.
Is Miaomiao already running all over the village? Has Suisui's farming technique improved?
Did Shui Ying and Qin Yunyuan become a couple? Are the pomegranates in the courtyard still as sweet as ever...?
Her thoughts drifted away, and Xiushan thought she was somewhat disgusted.
"The yard looks a bit shabby, but my husband keeps it very well tidy inside..."
Seeing that Qin Luo still didn't respond, Wu Hua slapped her arm.
Then, looking somewhat apologetically at Xiushan Wang.
"Sister Wang, Luo Luo doesn't mean she's disgusted; she's just homesick."
Qin Luo had also recovered from his shock and quickly explained to her.
"Yes, yes, I don't mind at all. Your courtyard is so similar to the one in my hometown. I couldn't help but think of things back home."
Upon hearing this, Xiushan Wang finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"I thought you didn't like it!"
"No, no, your courtyard is simple and spacious, much better than the inns in the city."
Hearing her praise, Xiushan Wang burst into laughter.
"Haha, if the shopkeeper heard you say that, she'd definitely fight you. Alright, stop looking outside and get the carriage inside."
