Knowing he had done something foolish, Jiu Fangduo didn't even try to make excuses: "It's my fault..."
Before she could finish speaking, Qin Luo interrupted her.
"I've seen stupid people, but I've never seen anyone as stupid as you."
Upon hearing this, Jiu Fangduo glared at the two with eyes full of hatred.
"Now that you are the victors, you may kill or torture me as you please, but there is no need to humiliate me like this."
If it weren't for wanting to clear Ji Mo Kunyu's name, Qin Luo wouldn't have bothered with her at all.
“Kid, find a stool and sit down for a while. I’ll have a good talk with this idiot.”
Wu Hua was happy to watch the show, so she obediently walked to the stool, took out some melon seeds and candy, and started eating.
Qin Luo walked up to Jiu Fangduo, squatted down, and pointed at Chunyu Ying.
"You listen to everything she says? Then what about Ji Mo Kunyu?"
Upon hearing this long-unheard name, Jiu Fangduo's pupils dilated.
"Did...did he send you to deal with me? What's your relationship with him?"
As expected, she was slapped after asking the question.
“You have no heart. If we hadn’t rescued him in the dilapidated house in the backyard yesterday, his body would probably have been eaten away by maggots.”
Upon hearing this, Jiu Fangduo shook his head in rebuttal.
"How could that be? Wasn't he in seclusion? He even left me a letter saying he never wanted to see me again, or he would destroy his own golden core and die..."
As she spoke, she suddenly turned her gaze to Chunyu Ying.
"You lied to me? You forged that letter? You've been lying to me all along?"
Upon hearing this, Chunyu Ying's eyes darted away, unable to look away: "I...I didn't..."
When Qin Luo saw that she wouldn't admit it, he picked up the kettle and washed her hair.
"Wake up and think carefully about what you've actually done."
Chunyu Ying was already in excruciating pain, and now he felt like he was living a life worse than death.
"Ahhh, don't you dare slander me..."
You have to admit she's ruthless. Most people would have begged for mercy after being treated like that, but her mouth was as tight as a boiled duck's.
Qin Luo didn't waste any words with her and directly poured water all over her body.
Whether you admit it or not is not important to me at all; I only need to choose what I believe.
These words struck Jiu Fangduo like a heavy hammer blow. Perhaps it was a pang of conscience, or perhaps it was because his cultivation had dissipated.
She was no longer as confused as before; instead, she seemed to have become much clearer.
"Can you tell me where Kunyu is? Is he alright?"
Her question immediately enraged Chunyu Ying, who had just been denying everything.
"You're still thinking about him? What's so great about him that makes you so hung up on him?"
Jiu Fangduo ignored her question, only staring intently at Qin Luo, as if he absolutely needed an answer.
Given Qin Luo's personality, how could she possibly let her see Ji Mo Kunyu so easily?
Her eyes darted around, and she began to recount everything she had seen the day before.
"When I saw him, he was lying in that wooden hut waiting to die. One of his ears had been cut off, his body was covered in whip marks, and his wounds were crawling with maggots. Even his golden core had been dug out. What do you think?"
Upon hearing this, Jiu Fangduo felt as if a sharp blade had pierced his heart.
She rose shakily and picked up her sword.
He walked up to Chunyu Ying and stabbed him without the slightest hesitation.
"How dare you harm him like this? Then you shall pay with your worthless life."
Upon hearing this, Chunyu Ying paid no heed to the fact that his abdomen was bleeding profusely.
Instead, he went mad, pointing at Jiu Fangduo and questioning him.
"I have a lowly life? You say I have a lowly life? I am the legitimate daughter of the Central Plains royal family, the revered Grand Princess. What is Ji Mo Kunyu? He's not even worthy to carry my shoes!"
Seeing that the two were locked in a standoff, Qin Luo felt relieved and went to sit down with Wu Hua to watch the show.
As soon as Chunyu Ying finished speaking, Jiu Fangduo became even angrier. He pulled the sword out of his hand and then stabbed it in again.
"Kunyu is the best man in the world. You are not worthy to mention his name."
Upon hearing this, Chunyu Ying not only didn't get angry, but burst into laughter.
"If he's so good, why did you betray him and have a child with someone else?"
Jiu Fangduo's question left her speechless; she didn't know how to explain, nor did she know how to explain it.
What's done is done; regardless of the process, the result is that I made the mistake.
She drew the sword again and placed it against her own neck.
"Kunyu, I have wronged you, and I will atone for my sins with my death."
"No, Senior Sister, please don't..."
Just as she was about to exert her strength, the sword was knocked to the ground by the candy that Wu Hua threw at her.
"They keep talking about dying, they have no sincerity at all. If they're so capable, they should live to take care of him."
Jiu Fangduo was deeply ashamed by these words.
"I've wronged him so badly, how can I still have the face to see him?"
Upon hearing this, Wu Hua rolled her eyes at her.
“If you make a mistake, you should admit it and try your best to make amends, instead of using death to escape responsibility. Even if you die, you can't make up for the suffering he has endured.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Jiu Fangduo seemed to awaken from a dream.
"Thank you for your understanding, fellow Daoist. If I survive this, I will spend the rest of my life making it up to him."
If she hadn't said those first two sentences, Qin Luo and Wu Hua would have truly believed that she was genuinely repentant.
But her words immediately put an alarm bell in their minds.
How could someone whose goodwill has been completely drained by the magical artifact, and who has been in a high position for too long, suddenly have a profound awakening and be willing to reflect on their mistakes?
Even when facing the person who crippled her cultivation, she showed no hatred whatsoever, but rather a sense of submissiveness and ingratiation.
It's likely that she had already planned how to act from the moment the two of them walked in.
I originally thought that the reason she treated Ji Mo Kunyu that way was because Chunyu Ying was behind it all.
Now it seems that everything is under her control.
