The four ghosts went their separate ways, determined to bring the two criminals to justice.
Qin Luo and Wu Hua had just arrived at the banks of the River of Oblivion when they heard the alarm sounding. Without paying any attention, they ran straight to Ming Zhao.
"Zhao'er, we've come to see you..."
Ming Zhao, who was trying to unravel the knots in the hearts of the departed souls, looked at Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai running towards him, his face full of confusion.
Just as he was about to ask, he heard another voice.
"Sister Zhao'er, it's us."
The two women ran closer and removed the sparse hairs from their hair buns. The next second, they returned to their original appearance.
Mingzhao was both happy and excited to see the two of them.
"Sister, little brother, what brings you here? Why are you so late... Waaah..."
The two men hugged her tightly, tears streaming down their faces.
"I'm sorry, elder sister, we're late. My son and I were summoned by the Heavenly Dao to find the people scattered in those small worlds, that's why we're late."
"Yes, Luo Luo and I are exhausted from searching for them every day. We don't even dare to sleep too much, for fear of wasting time..."
Hearing them say that, Ming Zhao felt deeply guilty.
"It's all my fault. I've dragged you and Father into this mess."
Upon hearing this, Qin Luo immediately released her, her eyes filled with reproach as she gently wiped away the tears from her cheeks.
"What nonsense are you talking about? If anyone is implicated, it's me who's to blame."
"No, I..."
"Alright, let's not talk about that anymore. How have you been here? Have any ghosts been bullying you?"
"No, no, Lord Sanji takes good care of me, as do Xiaobai and Xiaohei. They come to see me often."
"And what about Father? Have you seen him?"
Mentioning Ming Yi, Ming Zhao felt as if her heart was being torn apart, her voice filled with sorrow.
“No, they won’t let me get close to the edge of hell. My father gave me his heart, but I don’t know if he can bear it.”
Seeing that she was getting more and more upset, Qin Luo immediately patted her gently to comfort her.
“It will definitely work. My son and I fed him so much medicine before, just to make his soul stronger so that he could withstand the punishment.”
Ming Zhao then remembered the bitter medicine soup from back then, and felt somewhat relieved.
"Oh, and the judge was also punished."
"The judge was punished? Why? Could it be because he threw my soul fragments into the Well of Reincarnation back then?"
"That's right. King Yama said he was corrupt and abused his power, and that he was the instigator. Only after Aunt Meng Po and Uncle Inspector pleaded for him were he given a lighter sentence."
"Then do you know what punishment the judge was given?"
“I know. Yama said that he could not bear to see living beings burned, and since every flower in the sea of red spider lilies was transformed from a living being, he punished him to be compost for the flower field for a hundred years.”
After she finished speaking, Qin Luo and Wu Hua both fell silent. Although the punishment wasn't severe, they had completely lost face and dignity.
The judge is, after all, the head of a department. From now on, he'll be dealing with fertilizer every day. Who knows how those ghosts will laugh at him behind his back?
The atmosphere among the three was rather somber when suddenly, it was broken by an unexpected sound.
"Xiao Zhao, are you alright? I heard some criminals broke into the River of Oblivion. Are you injured?"
"Don't be afraid, Brother Xiao Hei is here to protect you..."
After the two ghosts finished shouting, they noticed Qin Luo and Wu Hua were also there. Their serious expressions immediately vanished, and they started giggling and circling around the two of them.
"Little sister, little brother, what brings you here? You didn't even say hello, we could have come to pick you up!"
"Yes, it's been a while since we last saw each other. I've missed you terribly."
Qin Luo and Wu Hua were also very happy to see them.
"Big brother, second brother, how are you? We were captured by the Heavenly Dao to do hard labor, and we came here as soon as we finished."
"Yes, Luo Luo and I miss you so much. We've dreamed about you so many times."
Upon hearing this, the two ghosts grinned from ear to ear: "Hahaha, little brother's sweet tongue is just too sweet."
"Absolutely, they're so adorable."
The two ghosts chatted with them for a while before remembering to ask about the criminals.
"Did you see two ghosts that look exactly like us?"
"Yes, it's said that even the voices are the same. Even the Ox-Head and Horse-Face demons couldn't tell that they were fake. They must be trying to use our faces to do rebellious things."
Qin Luo and Wu Hua…
Ming Zhao, on the other hand, was laughing so hard his stomach hurt, completely bewildered by the two ghosts.
Finally, Wu Hua explained the whole story. Xiao Bai and Xiao Hei were so embarrassed they wanted to jump into the River of Oblivion and swim back and forth.
“Since everything is fine on your side, Xiao Hei, you should go find Ox-Head and Horse-Face and explain the situation clearly to prevent further misunderstandings.”
Upon hearing this, Xiao Hei had no choice but to reluctantly let go of Wu Hua's little hand.
"My little ones, you must wait for me to come back before you leave!"
"Okay, you go ahead and get busy."
Having received the assurance, Xiao Hei immediately darted out.
After that, Qin Luo told Wu Hua about his and her plans to return to the Beast Realm.
Upon hearing this, Ming Zhao hurriedly asked when the two would return, only to learn that their return date was uncertain.
She seemed to have lost her very soul, standing there blankly, tears streaming down her face.
Qin Luo held her in his arms, saying he would come back to see her whenever he had the chance.
Wu Hua also promised that she would bring Qin Luo back after she succeeded as clan leader, and only then did a smile appear on Ming Zhao's face.
Xiao Bai, on the other hand, was alright. He felt that Qin Luo was still human, no matter how long they hadn't seen each other.
After she passes away, her soul will return to the underworld, so no matter where she goes, her final destination is here.
When Xiao Hei returned, it was almost dawn, and the two of them were preparing to leave.
After a reluctant farewell, Qin Luo suddenly turned her eyes and stared intently at the two ghosts, making them feel uneasy.
