The person in the mirror had a stern face, dark skin, and a bit of stubble on his chin, making him look nearly twenty years old.
After confirming several times that it was indeed him, he fell into confusion.
"What on earth is going on? Sister, brother, where are you?"
He had barely finished speaking when a man and a woman walked in from outside. Upon seeing him, they began to joke around.
"What's wrong? Are you nervous? You're about to get married, and you still keep calling me 'brother' and 'sister' all the time. Aren't you ashamed?"
After the woman finished speaking, the man immediately replied.
"Hey, what's there to be shy about? Even if our little brother becomes a father, he's still the youngest in our family. It's perfectly normal for him to call us 'brother' or 'sister' when something happens, isn't that right, Lingyu?"
Pidan looked at the two strangers in front of him, yet it also seemed as if he knew them very well.
This feeling, both strange and familiar, truly suffocated him.
“Who is Ling Yu? I am Qin Songhua, Xiao Pidan, not Ling Yu. You have mistaken me for someone else.”
But to everyone's surprise, the people inside seemed to be used to it all along.
"It seems he's had another attack. Ling Bin, hurry and fetch Doctor Sun. Don't let it interfere with the wedding procession."
"Okay, Father, I'll go right away."
Watching his so-called elder brother rush out in a hurry, Pidan's brows furrowed even more.
"I'm not sick, you're the ones who are sick."
Upon hearing this, Master Ling immediately reprimanded him.
"Shut up! My Ling family is a family of good deeds. How could we have produced such a wicked person like you? You're always either teasing cats and dogs or acting crazy and insane."
Seeing that he was red-faced with anger, Madam Ling quickly stepped forward to help him calm down.
"Today is a joyous occasion, sir, please do not be angry. Yu'er was not yet settled before, but after the wedding, he will no longer be the same as before, and our Ling family will get better and better."
These words struck a chord with Master Ling; for him, nothing was more important than the family's reputation.
"I hope so!"
As he spoke, he pointed to the preserved egg.
"After you've seen the doctor, you'd better behave yourself and go fetch the bride. If anything else goes wrong, I'll remove you from the family register."
After uttering those harsh words, he flicked his sleeves and left the room.
