Qin Ling watched him laugh, his old face etched with deep wrinkles, and he laughed along.
"Who cares? Humph! Go to sleep early! Don't be so excited you can't sleep all night!"
As Qinling had predicted, Doctor You hadn't slept all night.
With two large dark circles under her eyes, she appeared in the funeral procession.
Qin Ling and Ji Hong led the entire village, their faces streaked with tears, and the sound of weeping filled the air.
They mourned and sent their deceased sons to the ancestral cemetery.
The drought, compounded by banditry, resulted in an overwhelming number of deaths.
They couldn't buy a coffin at all, so family members had to carry the body step by step.
At the crack of dawn, Qinling organized people to collect many dead branches.
Upon arriving at the cemetery, some people dug a pit, while others placed a layer of dry branches inside.
After the body was placed inside, another layer was laid on top of it.
Finally, they filled in the soil and erected a tombstone, but it was really just a wooden stake with a name on it.
After everything was settled, everyone's tears had dried.
It was noon when we returned to the ancestral hall.
Qin Luo heard that he could receive his travel permit tomorrow and would be moving the day after.
But she promised the mountain king she would go deep into the mountains, and she only has today.
Qin Luo found Qin Ling, pointed to the two plastic buckets in his hand, and started making up a story with a straight face.
"Grandpa, I promised Lord Mountain Lord I would return those two items he left behind. I'd like to go today. Don't worry, Lord Mountain Lord will protect me!"
Qinling pondered for a while
"Why don't you come with your great-grandfather? That way everyone will feel more at ease!"
“No need, Grandpa. You have to go get your travel permit early tomorrow morning, and I don’t know when I’ll be back. If you go with me, you’ll be late for the permit collection, and it’s a long walk; I’m afraid it won’t be good for your health!”
Qinling pondered for a moment longer.
"How about you have your third uncle and your youngest uncle go with you? They can protect you!"
Qin Luo knew it was impossible for her to go alone; Qin Ling would definitely not agree.
So he agreed to let Qin Xing and Qin Xian accompany him.
Qin Luo had clearly stated before setting off that Qin Xing and Qin Xian would be enough to accompany him.
As a result, Qin Liang insisted on going along, saying he would go by himself if he wasn't allowed to.
With no other option, the group of three became four. They packed their water bags, grabbed some bread, and set off with two plastic buckets.
Qin Luo had barely stepped into Luoyun Mountain when he heard the roars of tigers; there were four tigers in total this time.
Qin Luo had seen one white tiger before, but this was the first time she had ever seen the other three golden tigers!
The white tiger crouched down in front of Qin Luo, gesturing for him to sit on its back.
After Qin Luo sat down, the three golden tigers also lay down to let Qin Liang and the other two sit on top.
The three exchanged a glance, and each saw excitement in the other's eyes.
Once the three of them were on the tiger's back, the tiger dashed off like lightning towards the depths of the mountains, and the group shouted excitedly...
What usually takes three or four hours to travel, took less than an hour!
The tigers released Qin Luo and the others. The white tiger roared, and another white tiger ran out of the cave.
Seeing Qin Luo affectionately rub her palm,
Qin Luo looked at the deep mountains; compared to the surrounding area, it was like two completely different worlds!
The vegetation around Luoyun Mountain is withered and yellow, and the earth is cracked…
Here, the grass is lush and green, the ancient trees reach for the sky, and birds sing!
The valley is bursting with wildflowers, it's like stepping into a fairytale.
Qin Luo looked at the three of them
"Third Uncle, Uncle, and Youngest Uncle, you all play here for a while. Lord Shanjun wants to go over there to do some business!"
The three people who were looking around nodded quickly.
"Go ahead, we'll wait for you here!"
Qin Luo picked up two plastic buckets and walked away with the two white tigers.
She put the plastic bucket back into her storage space only when they were out of sight.
Then Wu Hua was called out.
"Son, is this what you meant by restoring life to a small area? It's restored the entire mountain!"
Wu Hua nodded her little head.
"Yeah! But this is the limit of what I can do. This is a natural disaster; I can't interfere too much, or I'll get struck by lightning!"
Qin Luo did not hold back his praise
"You've done a great job! Later we'll go catch some rabbits and pheasants, and I'll roast them for you with honey!"
Upon hearing about food, Wu Hua nodded her little head frantically.
"Okay, okay, let's give the tigers some stream water first, and let them help us catch them!"
The two white tigers understood Wu Hua's words and led Qin Luo towards a cliff face. At the foot of the cliff was a recessed stone pool.
Qin Luo guessed that there used to be a waterfall here, which is why the large rock had sunk into a small pool. She walked over and poured the stream water into the small pool.
When Qin Luo released the water, the two white tigers went to notify the other tigers to guard the stone pool, and also called several other tigers to hunt prey.
By the time Qin Luo filled the stone pool with water, the prey on the ground had piled up like mountains.
Pheasants, rabbits, roe deer, deer, wild boars—you name it, they have it. Rabbits are the most plentiful; there's just too much to eat!
Tigers were still being sent here, so Qin Luo immediately called a halt.
"Mountain Lord, that's enough, that's enough! Leave some living things in these deep mountains!"
These tigers are quite selective; they didn't kill any of their prey except for wild boar.
They were probably either picked up and thrown to stun them, or knocked unconscious while running away.
Qin Luo drew the Demon Vine and unleashed a barrage of electric shocks on his prey until they were all dead, then stored them all away in his spatial storage.
She took out two stainless steel basins, filled them with water from the spatial stream, and gave them to the tigers that were hunting prey to drink.
The tigers lined up in an orderly fashion, and the tiger in front would take a few sips of water before moving on to the next one.
