"Big brother, what happened?"
Yu Chengyuan had just stepped out of the house when he asked directly.
"Go and see for yourself in the yard!"
"You'll see." Yu Ping'an looked helpless and pointed into the courtyard.
When Yu Chengyuan saw his parents sighing and looking worried, he wondered if it was Yu Sanzhu and his wife again.
Could it be that they came to cause trouble because they couldn't sell their vegetables?
At this moment, the eldest sister also hurriedly came out of the house and asked anxiously, "Brother, what happened?"
Yu Pingan pointed to the courtyard as usual and said disdainfully, "Old fox, mangy dog, who else could it be?"
He thought to himself that the Wang family was like a stubborn plaster, impossible to shake off.
Yu Chengyuan was inwardly fretting, thinking, "My wife and daughter just got back today. What bad luck! Someone's causing trouble. It's infuriating!"
Just then, I saw my eldest uncle, second uncle, and village chief Zhou Jianguo walking over together.
Yu Chengyuan was just about to go out and find out what was going on.
Let's see if it really is Wang and Yu Sanzhu, a married couple.
"Village Chief, Uncle, Uncle, what's going on here...?" Yu Chengyuan really didn't expect that he would alarm these three people.
Then I thought about how they were building a house over there in the yard, so they must have seen it too.
"Uncle, Uncle Zhou," Yu Chengyuan quickly greeted them.
"Chengyuan, you'd better not go out. Didn't your wife and child just get back?"
You should just spend time with them, mother and daughter.
"Leave the outside matters to the three of us," Zhou Jianguo said with a concerned expression.
He felt guilty ever since his wife acted as a matchmaker, almost ruining someone's life. So he always wanted to find a chance to make amends.
Just then, Wang's voice, like the wailing of ghosts and wolves, came from outside. It was sharp and piercing, like small knives drilling straight into people's ears: "What a terrible thing! Folks, come and see!"
Although Dazhu is not my biological son, I have raised him for many years.
How could he encourage his two sons to prevent the boss from buying our vegetables? A cart full of vegetables, if we can't sell them, that's all my life savings!
"Yu Dazhu, are you trying to drive this old woman to her death?!"
Yu Chengyuan's face instantly darkened, and he cursed inwardly, "So it really was this old woman who came to cause trouble!"
"Uncle, Uncle Zhou, this is a family matter. It's not appropriate for you to interfere. I'll go out and resolve this now so as not to disturb my wife and daughter's sleep."
Yu Chengyuan politely declined their offer.
He knew in his heart that it was not appropriate for his uncles, as relatives, to get involved in such family matters, and that Uncle Zhou, as the village chief, had his own special position, so he could not be asked to step forward easily.
Because this is a private matter, not a major issue for the village.
“Dad, you don’t need to feel indebted to her. She never treated you as her son, nor did she treat us as her grandchildren.”
We're in the right here; what she says won't make a difference.
I'm going to go out now and chase this old woman away.
Yu Chengyuan grew angrier as he spoke, grabbed a carrying pole from behind the door, and strode out.
Yu Ping'an didn't hesitate either. He grabbed a wooden stick, stood tall and followed, looking as if he were going to fight a tough battle.
"Vanilla, let's hurry and follow them out, before they actually make a move."
Yu Dazhu anxiously spoke to his stunned daughter.
Yu Xiangcao nodded, "Father, don't worry, I'll go out with you now."
"Chengyuan, Ping'an, you two mustn't act rashly!" Zhou Jianguo shouted and quickly chased after them.
Seeing this, Pan Dachui and his brother quickly followed, one grabbing a hoe and the other a broom, muttering, "Even if we don't fight, we can't lose our spirit."
When Yu Chengyuan walked into the courtyard, he saw Wang Shi sitting on the ground, crying and wailing with snot and tears streaming down her face.
Yu Sanzhu and Li Hehua, a married couple, pretended to act, wiping away tears and sighing, joining in the play with Wang Shi.
Yu Chengyuan looked at them coldly and said loudly, "Old woman Wang, stop making a scene here!"
Everyone knows perfectly well how you've treated our family all these years.
Stop using this nonsense about filial piety to morally blackmail me. My father doesn't owe you a single penny.
And what brings you here today?
Upon hearing this, Wang cried even harder, rolling around on the ground as she sobbed, "Listen to this, everyone! This is trying to force this old woman to her death!"
"I raised an ungrateful son, and now his son treats me like this!"
Yu Ping'an gripped the wooden stick tightly in anger and retorted loudly, "Don't try to twist the truth!"
What have you given our family all these years?
They've been bullying us all along!
Now you're playing the victim? Where were you before?
"Alright, enough nonsense, get out of here and stop rolling around in the yard."
Yu Chengyuan said impatiently.
"Hmph! Why don't you let those canteens accept vegetables from my third son?"
Why won't they accept your price even if it's cheaper?
"I'm giving you two choices today: either you buy my whole cartload of vegetables, or you tell those vendors to take them away."
Wang said shamelessly.
The villagers who were watching the commotion looked at the old lady Wang with suspicion, then at the Yu brothers, wondering how credible Wang's words were.
"Hahaha...Grandma Wang, are you out of your mind?"
