The county hospital was quiet as a silken thread in the still night.
Most people were already fast asleep, and only the occasional light footsteps of a nurse broke the silence.
Jiang's parents rushed to the hospital to visit their beloved daughter.
During the day, both of them have to work, so they can only spend time with their daughter in the evenings after get off work.
They had already taken many days off to take care of their daughter, and they really couldn't afford to delay their work any longer.
When the elderly couple entered the ward and saw their daughter's noticeably improved complexion over the past two days, they were also delighted.

Jiang's mother couldn't wait to blurt out all the candidates she had guessed.
Jiang Haitang gently shook her head. "Mom, it wasn't them."
"Is that Wen Shao, the overseas student who returned from his blind date last time?" Jiang's father also guessed.
Jiang Haitang shook her head again. "Dad, it's not him either."
"Who exactly is that, kid?"
"Quickly tell Mom and Dad, look how worried they are, they're itching to tell you!"
Jiang's mother was extremely anxious and wished her daughter would tell her the answer immediately.
"Mom, we've only just started dating, it hasn't been long yet. I'll tell you more later!"
Jiang Haitang felt conflicted, wondering how her parents would react once they found out it was her older brother, Ping An.
After all, Brother Ping An was far from the ideal son-in-law in his parents' eyes.
If they find out, will they break up the couple like in TV dramas?

"Haitang, if you don't tell us, how can we help you make the right choice?"
And you didn't mention having a boyfriend before you were hospitalized, so how come you suddenly have one?

When Jiang's mother saw that her daughter was unwilling to budge, she suspected that her daughter had ulterior motives.
"Mom and Dad, I'm not lying to you. I really do have a boyfriend. We just confirmed our relationship yesterday."
I didn't tell you before because I wasn't sure what he was thinking back then.
Jiang Haitang hurriedly explained, her eyes filled with urgency, afraid that her parents would misunderstand.
"Little sister, you shouldn't hide it from Mom and Dad anymore. You'll have to tell them sooner or later."
As the saying goes, even an ugly daughter-in-law has to meet her in-laws eventually, so I should tell my parents sooner rather than later!
Jiang Haiyang tried to persuade him from the side.

He's the brother Ping An who carried me to the hospital for treatment before.
Jiang Haitang mustered her courage and finally revealed the secret in her heart.

They never imagined that the boyfriend their daughter was talking about would actually be that young man.
"Haitang, is what you said true?"
But that boy only saved you; you don't really know him.

Jiang's mother was filled with disbelief. Her mind flashed through those outstanding young men she thought were more suitable for her daughter. She couldn't understand why her daughter had chosen Yu Ping'an.
Yu Ping'an is indeed good-looking, but his background and education level are too different from my daughter's. If they really get together, will they be able to live a good life together?
