Chapter 71 First and Second Uncles

After the village chief left, the eldest brother came out of the house and went to the kitchen.

The two brothers were cooking and tending the fire when their parents unexpectedly returned.

Two uncles, whom I hadn't seen in a long time, also returned with me.

For Yu Chengyuan, it had been decades since he had seen his uncles and aunts.

My two uncles are both under fifty years old, with dark faces, sturdy bodies, and honest smiles.

It still looks the same as I remember.

My eldest uncle is a bit short but strong, while my second uncle is a bit tall but thin.

Upon seeing his two maternal uncles, Yu Chengyuan felt a little excited.

Yu Chengyuan looked at his uncles, who were both familiar and somewhat unfamiliar, and his eyes welled up with tears.

"Uncle, Second Uncle!" Yu Chengyuan called out, his voice trembling slightly.

The eldest uncle grinned, revealing a set of slightly yellow teeth. He rubbed his rough hands on his clothes, walked up to Yu Chengyuan, and patted him heavily on the shoulder: "Chengyuan, so many things have happened, why didn't you send us a message?"

If we had known that the Wang family would be like that, we would have come earlier.

With us around, they won't be so arrogant.

If it weren't for my sister saying that the family had separated, and then them constantly pressing for the reason, she still wouldn't have told them.

Second Uncle also came over, his eyes full of concern: "Chengyuan, that Wang woman is a scoundrel, and so are your third uncle and aunt."

"If you had come to let me know sooner, I would have beaten them so badly they wouldn't be able to get out of bed for two weeks."

The second uncle clenched his fists, his face full of indignation.

Yu Chengyuan quickly said, "Uncle and Second Uncle, I never expected them to be like this."

But I managed to handle it; Su-lan and the child are both fine.

Otherwise, I wouldn't let them get away with it.

Now that we've separated, we're doing great, uncles, let's not dwell on those unpleasant things.

Are you tired from the journey?

Are you thirsty?

Hurry up and go inside for a cup of tea.

Brother, there's one more vegetable dish; could you stir-fry it?

Yu Chengyuan called out to his brother, and then led his two uncles into the main room.

The eldest uncle laughed heartily: "Not tired at all. Seeing your family is nothing compared to this short distance."

Yu Chengyuan's parents watched from the side, their faces beaming with happiness.

A few minutes later, Yu Pingan brought over two plates of food and said with a smile, "Uncles, please sit down for a while. The food will be ready soon."

The family sat around the table and began to chat.

Yu Chengyuan listened quietly as his uncles recounted some trivial matters about their families, his heart filled with emotion.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, the eldest uncle took out something wrapped in a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to Yu Chengyuan: "Chengyuan, this is a little something your eldest uncle brought for Tangtang. Consider it a gift for her first birthday celebration."

Yu Chengyuan took the handkerchief, opened it, and saw an exquisite wooden doll. The delicate patterns seemed to tell the story of his uncle's dedication.

When my uncle has nothing to do, he likes to carve little things for the children to play with.

"I thank Uncle on behalf of Tangtang!" Yu Chengyuan's voice was full of gratitude.

"Chengyuan, this is the gift I prepared for Tangtang's first birthday celebration."

His second uncle also took out something and gave it to him, also wrapped in a handkerchief.

When Yu Chengyuan opened it, he found a pair of exquisite little silver bracelets inside.

"Thank you, Second Uncle. Tangtang will definitely like it."

"We're all family, there's no need for all these thanks, it's too formal!"

"Hahaha………"

"The dishes are all served, let's not eat or talk."

Yu Pingan brought all the dishes over.

However, they added a bowl of stir-fried pork with chili peppers at the last minute.

Otherwise, there definitely wouldn't be enough to eat.

"I'm so happy today, honey, why don't you have a drink with my two older brothers!"

"Yes, I must have a few drinks with my brothers-in-law today."

Yu Dazhu nodded and smiled at his wife.

Everyone drank some wine and chatted about everyday things.

This heartwarming scene made Yu Chengyuan realize that no matter how time flows, family affection will always be the warmest harbor in his heart.

After dinner, Uncle Pan Dachui spoke first, "Chengyuan, I heard from your parents that you landed two jobs. Your uncle is so happy for you!"

Seeing that your family is becoming more and more promising, your maternal grandparents no longer need to worry about you all the time.

You're a good kid; you thought of your second uncle and me as soon as you had a way to make money.

"My family has planted a lot of green beans, and we're worried we can't finish them all!"

I originally intended to dry them, but I can't eat that many dried green beans.

What a coincidence, your parents have arrived...

That was a huge help.

Pan Dachui laughed until tears streamed down his face, and a few more wrinkles appeared on his forehead.

"Chengyuan, your second uncle is also happy. Seeing that you have separated the family, there is more and more hope for your little sister's family in the future."

Also, my family doesn't grow that many green beans, but we have plenty of cabbage and peppers.

I don't know the exact amount you need.

Our main concern is that if you collect enough here, and we send more over, what will we do with the extra?

Pan Erchui didn't want his nephew to cause him trouble by helping them.

"Uncle, Second Uncle, when you pick vegetables, choose the bigger ones that are slightly ripe, so that you can have vegetables to sell every day."

You can also plant those with fast growth cycles, such as bok choy or Chinese cabbage.

We'll plant them in batches from now on, so we can harvest them every day.

There are many varieties of chili peppers. Although chili peppers are high-yielding, the demand for them is also high.

Yu Chengyuan gave a hint to his eldest and second uncles.

"There's too much, won't the cafeteria refuse to accept it?"

Pan Dachui asked worriedly.

Because I've never encountered anything like this before.
