Chapter 222 Conspiracy

"Jiang Songyi you."

"Fourth brother." Xin Yi said, quietly inserting a silver needle into the back of his neck with her fingertips, "It's time to take the medicine."

Xinyi Zigu's throat suddenly tightened, and he stumbled into the guard's arms. The last thing he saw was Jiang Songyi winking cunningly at the Crown Prince.

Outside the moonlit gate, Su Sheng peeked in from behind a pillar. Suddenly, he saw the prince leaning over to block Jiang Songyi. The glass lamp cast their shadows on the pink wall, resembling a pair of mandarin ducks embracing each other.

“Have you seen enough?”

Jiang Dinglian lifted Su Sheng up by the back of his collar, his beard scratching the boy's face and causing him pain: "If you dare covet my daughter again, I will soak your eyeballs in wine!"

The West Warm Pavilion was ablaze with candlelight. Jiang Songyi toyed with the Prince's Order and watched Xin Yidaoyi dip a silver needle into the chicken blood. "Master, this trick of borrowing a knife to kill someone is much more advanced than in your previous life."

"Please be careful with your words, my lady." Xin Yidao wiped the scratches on the peach wood sword. "The lady and I have no previous relationship."

Jiang Songyi suddenly threw the prince's order into the charcoal basin. The flames shot up and illuminated the tears in her eyes. "Master, are the two words 'Chu Chu' carved on me going to burn too?"

Xin Yidao stroked the cracks on the sword, remembering the last heartbeat monitor in the ICU. The drums outside the window startled crows, and he suddenly pressed the peach wood sword into her palm: "This is to ward off evil spirits."

Xin Yidao leaned against the pavilion pillar, coughing violently, a white handkerchief covering the bloodshot lips. The eldest princess, startled by his heartbreaking noise, pointed her gilded armor at the Fourth Prince's nose, "You bastard! After accusing Song Yi, you're now accusing the Crown Prince. Are you going to accuse me of the murder too?"

Xinyi Zigu gnashed his teeth and said, "Aunt, please understand. I..."

"That's enough!" The princess interrupted, waving her sleeves. "I will go to the palace to see the emperor now. He will make the final decision on right and wrong!" She turned and stroked Jiang Songyi's head, her gold and jade armor brushing against the pearls on the girl's temples. "Don't be afraid, my dear child. I will not let anyone wrong you."

Jiang Songyi raised her face, her almond-shaped eyes reflecting the sunset glow. "With the eldest princess here, Songyi is not afraid of anything." She caught a glimpse of the blood-stained handkerchief in the prince's hand, and her throat suddenly tightened. "Master."

Xin Yidao clutched the handkerchief in his palm, a smile forming on his pale lips: "The county lady should call me Your Highness." His eyes swept across Jiang Dinglian's sullen face, "The Marquis has taught his daughter well. She is so courageous. Ahem."

"Your Highness, you are too kind." Jiang Dinglian stepped aside to block his daughter's way. "I am timid and cannot stand being frightened." His eagle eyes pierced the Fourth Prince. "But your Highness is so weak that he can't even climb out of the lotus pond?"
