Chapter 162 All in order, but one person is missing.

Gu Junshan's temples were slightly frosted, and his voice suddenly became calm and melodious.

"Don't worry, the situation isn't that bad yet."

Fu Lun has not yet figured out the secret to making Qianyun yarn.

"The Gu family still has a chance," he began, encouraging everyone in the family.

Gu Junshan picked up a piece of meat and chewed it carefully.

His eyes narrowed slightly, and he said calmly, "Second brother, you've worked hard."

The First Madam was serving Gu Junshan mushroom soup. "Master, try this soup. It's so delicious. Erlang went to great lengths to dig these mushrooms in the mountains."

"Um."

Gu Junshan picked up the spoon and put it in his mouth. Gu Er swayed slightly when he heard his father's praise.

"Dad, why don't you stop drinking it? It's a bit cold. I'll go heat it up again."

"No, no need."

He took a sip, his old face filled with satisfaction.

"It's really good."

Gu Junshan suddenly chuckled and said, "Second brother, you're not entirely useless."

Gu Er, who had slowly stood up and was about to confront the situation, was instantly shattered by a sudden remark that shattered his already limited goodwill.

He replied with a smile, "Yes, it seems I'm better suited to doing some mundane, lighthearted activities. I don't have the talent for business."

With a calm expression, he grinned and said, "Since Father likes this soup, then you should drink more."

Even the Fourth Young Master seemed not to have had enough to drink. He snatched the Second Madam's bowl, grinning like a plump, round pig, and ate with his mouth wide open.

Gu Er looked at his mother and smiled gently, "Mother, how does the soup taste?"

The second wife nodded: "Very good, Second Brother."

She stood up and fished the ribs out of the mushroom soup for Gu San, smiling as she said, "Try this meat, it's very tender and flavorful."

Gu Er reached out his bowl to take it, only to find that his mother seemed not to have seen it and placed it directly into Sanlang's bowl.

"Sanlang, eat more, you're still growing."

The second wife's fair face radiated maternal glow.

Gu San chuckled dryly, scooped the bones out of the soup, and added them to Gu Er's bowl.

"Second brother, let's go together."

Gu Er's gaze was deep and thoughtful; his mother was quite adept at assessing situations.

No wonder they were able to live peacefully and without incident in the mansion for so many years.

He inexplicably said, "That's fine too, it saves me from feeling uneasy."

Just over fifteen minutes later, the large pot of meat soup was completely devoured.

Midway through, Gu Er even got up and brought meat, vegetables, and wine to Uncle Ru and the servants, secretly arranging for the servants to keep Uncle Ru company.

The head steward in the manor has been working too hard lately; let him relax a bit.

The servant, having received the wine, smiled and readily agreed.

Fifteen minutes later, the spicy rabbit head, stewed pheasant, braised wild shad, stewed tofu soup, cumin lamb chops, and about ten vegetarian dishes on the main table were almost all eaten up.

The fourth young master suddenly clutched his stomach, "Mother, my stomach hurts."

"What's wrong? Did you eat too much?"

Then, a scream rang out, and the boy collapsed from the table onto the floor.

The First Madam looked pale and was about to help him up when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her abdomen.

Gu San, Gu Junshan, and the Second Madam broke out in a cold sweat.

My abdomen felt as if someone had churned it up with a knife.

His gaze was unfocused.

Looking at the only person who was alright on the table.

He kept drinking one glass of wine after another, oblivious to everything else.

Gu Junshan, enduring the excruciating pain, scolded, "Second brother, hurry up and find a doctor to take a look!"

The man seemed not to have heard a word.

Gu San stared at him in astonishment, her face pale and her lips bloodless.

"Second brother, you've gone mad! You poisoned him?"

Upon hearing the word "poison," everyone's expression changed.

"Beast!"

Gu Er smiled and said, "What poison? We'll find out tomorrow at daybreak when the coroner examines the body. It's nothing more than eating the wrong thing, and we'll also find out who ate the most and is in the most pain!"

Suddenly, everyone noticed the boy rolling on the ground.

"Erlang, the fourth brother is still a child."

The First Madam held the Fourth Young Master in her arms with a pained expression, as if this could alleviate his suffering.

He shouted loudly, "Uncle Ru! Uncle Ru!"

Gu Er smiled and said, "Wasn't it the First Madam who didn't want Uncle Ru to sit at the table earlier? Why did she suddenly remember him this time..."

"I've already sent all the servants and maids away to drink."

Gu Er remained calm and said coldly, "Father, Third Brother, Mother, you forced me to do all this. I did nothing wrong; you are the ones who are wrong."

Especially Mother, I didn't want to harm you at first, and I even wanted to warn you.

But Mother is too good at seeing the situation. With someone as useless as me, Mother has already focused all her attention on my third brother, hasn't she?

You are truly my mother.

The second wife trembled all over and kept vomiting...

Her usually charming eyes were lifeless as she gasped, "Second Brother, Mother was wrong."

Gu Er walked up to Gu San, looked down at him, and said indifferently, "Third brother, you are the ruthless one. Why didn't you advise me when Mei Liulang appeared?"

Now I understand. You must have colluded with someone to deliberately trap me. And what about your secret conversation with Father at Baiweilou, where you sneered at me as a good-for-nothing and an idiot? And now?

Was it good or not?

Gu Sanlang?

Gu Junshan?

He stepped on the fourth young master and sneered, "A child, so scheming, all he knows is to act cute and charming. What will happen if you're the one in charge in the future?"

I'll be the first one eliminated, right?

Gu Silang?

Gu Sanlang cried out frantically, "Second Brother, you must have misunderstood something!"

Something must be wrong!

Gu Er had fallen into a state of madness, which was quite heroic, a bizarre case of preferring to die a glorious death rather than live a shameful life.
