"Should honest people be bullied?!"
"You want to hear my opinion, right?"
He paused, scanned the entire room, his gaze unwavering.
"Throw him to the authorities!"
A seemingly random sentence stunned everyone.
Chen Xian remained calm.
"This is how the village head arranged for the night watchmen to patrol. My family was lucky enough to catch them. Just like last time, they didn't say much before letting them go so easily."
Zhang Daguang said sarcastically, "Alright, Dazhu's father, don't be so unforgiving. Didn't they get a beating? Your grain is still there, isn't it? Is it necessary to torture them to death?"
Chen Xian looked at him with a smile: "Could you please send me several hundred catties of your family's grain right now?"
Zhang Daguang was baffled.
"What gives you the right to say that?"
Erzhuzi stepped forward and said, "What my father means is that since this didn't happen to you, you can let them go so easily. But if your family's grain were stolen, would you still say the same thing?"
What else did Da Cheng's mother want to say while mingling in the crowd?
He was pulled back by someone nearby.
He lowered his voice and said, "Alright, what Da Zhu's father said makes sense. Just watch the show quietly."
Suddenly, Cuihua ran out.
He shouted, "Father, all our money is gone! More than an ounce of silver is gone!"
Everyone was startled.
They all turned to look at the Jia family boy.
The young man from the Jia family was dumbfounded.
"You're talking nonsense. I didn't have time to steal anything."
Uncle Chen had somehow slipped in.
"Just search it up and you'll find out."
Chen Xian went up and touched them, cleaning them from head to toe.
Suddenly his expression changed, and he pulled out a large handful of copper coins.
There are probably several dozen coins.
Chen Xian looked miserable: "As expected, your Jia family just likes to bully people. All the money my whole family made from making cold noodles day and night has been taken by you. Tell me where you hid it and give it back to me right now!"
Granny Jia blurted out.
"He's framing my family, he doesn't have time..."
Chen Xian lowered his head as if wiping his eyes with the back of his hand, but seemed too embarrassed to look up, afraid that others would see his awkward state. His voice was hoarse.
"I have no grudge against your family, why would I falsely accuse you? Fine, I was just about to forgive you, but since you insist on saying this, it makes me look like a fool. Take me to the authorities!"
With the final sound, the decision was made.
Jia Yue ran to Chen Xian in tears, about to kneel down.
Chen Xian quietly moved his feet and retreated behind the village head.
Seeing this, Si Niu headbutted the other woman in the stomach and said pitifully, "Sister Yue, please give our family a way out! My father is an honest man. How can you do this to us?"
Jia Yue almost threw up the food in her stomach.
yue~
San Niu imitated her, pouting and howling loudly a few times.
"Give our family a way to survive."
Chen Qingshan grinned, as if suddenly remembering something.
Is he really an honest person?
Chen Gui looked at the chaotic scene.
The voice was calm.
"Vote again. Those who wish to submit their proposals to the government should stand on the left. Those who disagree should stand on the right."
The crowd began to gather.
The middleman who was just hesitating.
Seeing that everyone insisted on sending them to the government, he followed the crowd and stood on the left.
Once the population has completely settled down.
Chen Gui made the final decision.
"Alright, find two ropes and tie them up."
So Chen Qingshan tied the two of them up like rice dumplings.
They escorted the two men into the ancestral hall.
Granny Jia was crying and wailing behind them.
Jia Yue was now genuinely terrified, and tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
Without two strong laborers in the family, we'll be bullied to death in the future.
Chen Xian whispered something to Chen Qingshan.
“My family was the second to have our grain stolen. The Jia family boy was sent to the government, and Jia's wife was definitely not happy about it. The Jia family is very vengeful. Qingshan, I think you should drive them both out of the village.”
Chen Qingshan remained silent for a long time.
Zhang Daguang laughed and said, "Dad Dazhu, you've completely offended Granny Jia."
Su Wenxuan had been watching the spectacle.
As outsiders, we have no right to speak.
I heard someone making noise next to me.
He subconsciously drew his sword from his elder brother's waist and said with a smile, "Uncle, do you have a problem with my Uncle Xian?"
The gleaming sword swayed in front of Zhang Daguang.
The man muttered, "That's how it is."
Su Wenxuan said in a low but very serious voice, "Uncle, should I teach this man a lesson for you? Why can't he speak like a human being? He's making me very uncomfortable."
Chen Xian calmly said, "It's alright, we can just find a burlap sack to put over it when it gets dark."
Zhang Daguang trembled upon hearing this.
They disappeared in a flash.
Erzhuzi said angrily, "Zhang Daguang is just a foul-mouthed person. Back when he was in the wedding procession, he was spewing nonsense."
Chen Xian: "This guy just has a sharp tongue. He doesn't have any bad intentions, at most he's just annoying. But the Jia family is different."
The two boys looked resentful, angry, and defiant as they were being led away.
It was as if all of this was their fault, and had nothing to do with them.
Seeing this, the villagers were horrified. They really hadn't expected that an ordinary teenager could harbor such malice.
How come I never noticed this before?
The villagers saw Chen Xian again at this time.
It was only then that he suddenly realized that Da Zhu's father had probably seen through the Jia family's true nature long ago; these two boys were really no good.
