Chapter 50 Selling Braised Pork

The sky was just beginning to brighten.

The rooster stood on the stack of wheat and began to crow loudly.

The Chen family got up very early.

The Chen family discussed it for a long time yesterday.

Su Wenxuan reminded them.

"We must go to the liveliest places in town, such as the academy, the area near the restaurant, and the small square where many children play."

Cuihua was already busy starting the fire.

Su Liniang quickly cut the pork into chunks.

Su Shuangshuang was steaming pig's blood as Chen Xian had instructed.

For breakfast, the Chen family ate stir-fried pig's blood with a large handful of chives and green peppers. The fresh aroma of the pig's blood and the fragrance of the chives quickly came together.

Cuihua was initially puzzled, wondering if the pig's blood would taste too fishy.

When he tentatively took a small bite, his eyes were full of smiles.

He exclaimed, "Dad, I never imagined that pig's blood could be so simple to prepare, and it actually tastes really good!"

Chen Xian chuckled.

"Let's cook a little extra later, and take some of it with us so that when someone buys our braised pork, we can give them some as a gift."

Su Liniang nodded in approval.

"Yes, everyone has the desire to get a bargain."

I borrowed an oxcart from my uncle's house. This time, we prepared a lot of ingredients, and we rode in the oxcart with the villagers. I really felt that some people with ulterior motives might speculate about this.

Let's just use my uncle's car.

"Is Brother Xian going to town to buy food again?"

Uncle Chen has recently developed a very good impression of Chen Xian.

At least they don't just lie at home sleeping all day.

They have really improved.

She chuckled softly, "Let's try it first."

"Um."

Chen Dashui's wife, Wang, looked somewhat awkward: "Dad Dazhu, we still need to use an oxcart to haul the wheat to the stone mill later."

Chen Xian glanced at it.

"Oh, okay, then I won't use it."

Uncle Chen scolded, "Couldn't you have winnowed the wheat first? You'd be back this afternoon, wouldn't you?"

Wang pouted, not daring to refute.

He lowered his head and started washing the pot.

Using brooms made from sorghum stalks, we scraped out the last remaining dirty water from the pot.

It's not that he doesn't want to lend it, but that he doesn't want it to be used for nothing.

Chen Xian chuckled: "How about this, I'll pay you ten coins a day for using your oxcart?"

"Really, Daddy Dazhu?"

Before her uncle could speak, Wang Shi interrupted.

The uncle scolded, "We're all family, why are you being so calculating? What money are you giving us? When we come back, just put the cow aside and let it eat more grass."

The old lady, who had always used a winnowing basket to break down wheat, smiled broadly when she heard that it was ten coins.

But hearing the old man say that left me utterly speechless.

I really feel sorry for your nephew; we still have a ton of work to do.

"It's settled then. I might need to use my uncle's oxcart quite often in the future."

The old lady quickly gestured to Uncle Chen with her eyes.

With a friendly expression, he said cheerfully, "Alright, alright, we're all family. Five coins will do. If you really gave it to your uncle, he'd be nagging me all the time."

Chen Xian nodded.

He finally got the matter settled, but even so he decided to give ten coins.

Many good family relationships drift apart because of a lack of mutual benefit, with one side giving and the other taking.

Uncle really treated Chen Xian quite well.

Even if we assume that he used Old Man Li's car, he should still pay for it.

Wang looked distressed. That was ten coins! How many wild vegetables would she have to pick from the mountain to sell?

And there's no guarantee they'll even be able to sell them.

If Mom says no, then no.

well.

This time, Chen Xian was still hesitant about whether to leave Dazhu and Cuihua, the couple, at home.

Someone needs to stay home to watch the house.

Then it occurred to me that the eldest son and his wife rarely travel far from home.

Seeing the dim look in their eyes, he sighed softly.

They were, after all, young people; although they were already married, they were not even twenty years old.

Youthful spirit.

Chen Xian found Chen Dashui.

Chen Dashui patted his chest and said, "Don't worry, go out and do business. It'll only be a few days anyway. I'll just dry my wheat in front of your house."

Chen Xian nodded: "Then thank you very much, brother."

"We're all family, so let's not be formal. Anyway, I still have farm work to do, so it doesn't matter where I dry the wheat."

So the entire Chen family mobilized.

They took San Niu and Si Niu with them as well.

The carriage swayed and rocked.

The bells on the oxcart jingled.

A breeze blew past my ears, and as far as the eye could see, there were lush green mountains everywhere.

Cicadas chirped, birds flew, and the mountain mist was blown apart by the wind, tearing a gash in the air.

Golden sunlight shines on the yellow earth.

Not long after.

Based on the discussion among the Chen family members last night, Chen Xian...

So they started setting up a food stall near the restaurant.

I did see two familiar faces.

"Isn't this the uncle who sells liangpi (cold skin noodles)?"

The old man who sells sesame cakes and his nephew from the village.

Chen Xian chuckled: "Isn't it the busy season for farming? We just finished today. How's business at the city gate, brother?"

The old man selling sesame cakes laughed and said, "We're just trying to make a living. The construction over there has been finished, and there aren't many laborers left to do manual labor. We've come here to try our luck."

When Chen Xian opened the pot.

The aroma of meat immediately filled the air.

The old man stared intently at the meat and the white steamed buns, swallowing hard.

The pork is bright in color, and the rich broth makes it look tender, soft, and sweet.

"Hey bro, are you not selling liangpi anymore, and are you switching to selling pork instead?"
