While Luo Xi was busy with matters concerning Yue Zheng Fei Yuan, Du Hong also received the news.
"My lord, according to the scouts, Lezheng Feiyuan is not dead, but is unconscious. He and the rest of the Lezheng family have joined Luo Xi and have built a new Lezheng General's Mansion in Tongning County."
Upon hearing this, Du Hong and General Liu Wei, who were sitting in their tent discussing military matters, stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
"So, the Lezheng family has completely rebelled against the court?" Liu Wei's eyes were filled with complicated emotions. "I remember that the Lezheng family were founding heroes. Their ancestors conquered most of the country during the Tianqi era."
As a fellow military officer, a sense of sorrow unconsciously rose in his heart.
As the one who started this whole thing, Du Hong paused abruptly as he banged on the table: "What? General Liu wants to stand up for them?"
Although his tone was calm, cold sweat broke out on Liu Wei's back: "What are you saying, Prefect Du? I was just expressing my feelings."
"I am a general of the Apocalypse, how could I possibly stand up for a traitor?"
"That would be for the best." Du Hong then turned his gaze to the soldiers still waiting in the tent: "How is Yue Zheng Feiyuan's injury? Who is treating him now? Is there any chance of a cure?"
Seeing that Du Hong didn't pursue the matter any further, Liu Wei secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
The soldier was clearly quite frightened, and his attitude became even more respectful: "Reporting to the prefect, we haven't been able to find out the extent of the minor injuries yet, but the one who treated him was the poison doctor, Nan Wushang!"
"Nan Wushang?" Du Hong laughed upon hearing the name: "Ha, is that Nan Wushang who makes people's conditions worse and worse?"
The news that the eldest son of the Left Prime Minister was disfigured after treatment some time ago is known to everyone. In his eyes, Nan Wushang is now nothing more than a madman with a hollow reputation.
"Let him treat it, you don't need to worry about it."
Liu Wei, however, felt it was inappropriate: "Prefect Du, Nan Wushang has a good reputation. Shouldn't we be more cautious?"
"Otherwise, if he cures Yue Zhengfeiyuan, we'll be in big trouble."
Although he had led troops for many years, he was still inferior to Yue Zheng Feiyuan, who came from a military family and was a genius.
If they are defeated because of this, they will not have a good ending.
Du Hong had dealt with Le Zhengfeiyuan for many years and naturally knew how formidable he was.
He won last time only because he caught the opponent off guard.
"Send some men to find a way to kill Yue Zheng Feiyuan, or Nan Wushang would also be fine," he instructed the soldier.
"Yes, sir!" The soldier accepted the order and led his men to Tongning County.
But when they arrived there, they discovered that General Lezheng's mansion was heavily guarded. On the surface, it was guarded by loyal members of the Lezheng family, but in secret, there were also assassins from the Red Mansion. They couldn't find an opportunity to make a move.
"Boss, what do we do?"
"Let's go to Nan Wushang's residence." The leader sheathed his weapon and was the first to fly off in another direction.
Over there, Nan Wushang was engrossed in a book: "How could it be like this? I never thought of that before... I see, it's truly ingenious..."
This book was given to him by Luo Xi a few days ago. The ink is very fresh, so it must have been just copied by Teng, not the original.
But what does it matter? Nan Wushang doesn't care at all. As long as the things are good, he likes them.
But... it would be great if he could have a living person to try it out, but he had already promised Luo Xi that he would not kill the people under her jurisdiction indiscriminately.
It seems he'll have to go somewhere else in a couple of days to bring back a few people; he can't just read books without putting them into practice.
At that moment, a gleaming hidden weapon shot towards his brow with a whooshing sound.
"Who's there? Show yourself!"
Nan Wushang bent back to dodge, knowing that his martial arts skills were mediocre and he did not intend to fight them head-on. With a wave of his hand, he scattered the homemade sleeping potion.
They've come at the perfect time; it saves us the trouble of going out to catch them alive.
However……
"Nan Wushang, stop wasting your time." The leader, wearing a special protective suit, jumped out and said without further ado, "Quickly, cast the nets to catch fish!"
Suddenly, a group of people dressed in the same clothes jumped out from all sides of the house, pulling a large net to surround Nan Wushang.
Upon seeing those two familiar things again, Nan Wushang's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot. Without thinking, he shouted, "Luo Xi, help!"
The Luo Xi residence was so far away that it was impossible to hear it. However, Jiu Xian, who knew that his old enemy Nan Wushang was in Tongning County and rushed over, did hear it.
He didn't want to get involved, but then he remembered that this was Roxi's territory, so he turned around and flew towards the source of the sound.
As soon as he entered the mansion, Jiuxian heard the sounds of fighting coming from the house on the right. He frowned and quickly leaped towards that direction. He was spotted by the assassins guarding the door as soon as he reached it.
"Who goes there? Stop right there."
Without pausing for a moment, Jiu Xian cleared a path with his palm strikes, sending the man flying with a few "whoosh" sounds.
The assassin at the door didn't even get a good look at the newcomer's face before he was swatted away and crashed into the house, convulsing a few times before dying.
This greatly frightened the leader who was about to capture Nan Wushang, who thought that reinforcements had arrived. He quickly ordered the others to speed up the closing of the net.
Jiuxian couldn't see who was in the net, but this was Luo Xi's territory, how could he let someone get into trouble right under his nose?
He drew his sword and circled the crowd with lightning speed.
Suddenly, screams pierced the dark night sky of Tongning County. When the sounds faded away, only the leader and his two henchmen remained.
Without a second thought, Jiu Xian drew his sword, ready to end it all.
"This won't do!" Nan Wushang, still trapped in the net, quickly stopped him, "You blockhead, stop right now!"
