Meanwhile, Luo Xi had arrived near the mountain stronghold the old man had mentioned. It was a small grove of trees, or if you count it as a grove if there were hardly any leaves left.
As for why Roxi was paying attention to this forest, it was because a large group of people had gathered there.
Judging from the looks of it, they were all hiding here because the bandits had blocked their way.
When they saw a woman named Luo Xi riding a horse suddenly galloping over, everyone was surprised for a moment, but they only glanced at her a couple of times before turning back to their own business.
Loxi also only glanced at them before quickly running forward.
At this moment, a few sighs of regret came from the crowd: "Alas, it seems that yet another ignorant young lady is about to fall victim to their cruelty."
"Yes, those damned robbers."
Luo Xi's lips curled up slightly.
Who provoked whom? That's hard to say.
Having once almost exhausted her superpowers by collecting supplies, for Loxi now, bandits are synonymous with supplies.
Yes, that's right, it's supplies, no problem!
So, it would be great if there were robbers!
With that thought in mind, she boldly rode her horse to the bandits' den... at the foot of the mountain.
Her oblivious and unaware actions surprised the robbers who were sitting there waiting to be fleeced.
"Hey, that's strange. A young lady with some nerve, riding a horse all by herself, right under our noses."
Clearly, they were aware of their notorious reputation.
"Not only that, he's also quite handsome. So, how about we grab him?"
"Idiot, can we not catch him? It's no different from him being delivered to our door. Hand him over to the boss and we'll get a reward."
"That's true."
As they talked, the group walked to the middle of the road and stood still, which meant they were acting as roadblocks.
Are these people stupid? When Rosie saw this, she not only didn't slow down, but even deliberately kicked the horse's belly.
The horse beneath him neighed and galloped even faster.
The robbers: "..."
Startled, they jumped to the side, shouting, "Quick, quick, pull the tripwire! Don't let her get away!"
Damn, it's been a long time since I've seen someone act so unpredictably.
Shouldn't you stop if you see someone in the middle of the road?
Loxi sighed inwardly at the pity and stopped precisely in front of the tripwire.
"Heroes, what do you want by stopping me?"
That smiling, pretty face made the robber, who had intended to give Luo Xi a good scolding, swallow his words.
"Young lady, are you alone?" they asked, confirming first.
Rose nodded: "Yes, my family went ahead, I'm going to catch up with them."
They were incredibly cooperative and made up a story.
"They went ahead? Good, they went ahead." The bandit's eyes practically bulged with satisfaction: "Young lady, it's getting dark, we wanted to tell you..."
One of the bandits pointed to the forest not far away, bathed in the last rays of the setting sun: "There's a big tiger with piercing eyes and a white forehead over there. It comes out at night specifically to eat passersby like you."
“He’s incredibly ruthless!” he emphasized. “And you, with your skinny arms and legs…”
Rosie: "..."
This sounds so familiar.
Oh, a classic scene from a TV series before the apocalypse.
"Really? What are we going to do? There aren't any inns nearby." Luo Xi's face scrunched up.
The robber was stunned.
How could this young woman be so similar to the act the leader taught them to act? If they didn't really not know this young lady, they would have suspected that she was a fellow actor.
Hey, never mind, let's just get them back first.
He continued acting according to the script: "Young lady, don't worry. There are no inns, but our master lives nearby. If you don't mind, you can stay there for the night."
"Just give me a little money for tea, it's very cheap."
"Really?" The worry on Luo Xi's face vanished instantly, and she said brightly, "Thank you so much, you guys are such kind people."
That smile completely captivated the robber, making him dizzy: "Of course, of course."
They walked over hand in hand and helped Rose put on the reins: "Then let's go over there."
"Okay, thank you for your help, brothers." Luo Xi smiled at the group again and obediently handed over control of the horse to them.
Now the group was even more confused, and with silly grins, they brought Luo Xi directly to the leader.
"Master...Master, a young lady needs lodging." The head of the gang almost blurted out the words.
Inside the house, a burly man was sitting in front of a large table of food, eating with gusto. Several pretty young women were serving him food and pouring him wine, but their faces were full of fear and reluctance.
The robber suddenly burst in with Loxi, yelling so loudly he nearly choked on his food: "Damn it, can't you see I'm eating?"
"Catch them and lock them in the dungeon! They're getting more and more unruly." He shouted angrily without even looking up.
"A dungeon?" Luo Xi looked at the bandits leading the way, his voice filled with panic, "Brother, who...who are you people?"
Realizing they'd been exposed and were now on their own turf, the robber stopped pretending and burst into laughter: "Of course we're robbers, haven't you figured it out yet?"
"But young lady, you definitely won't regret coming back with us this time."
After he finished speaking, he turned to the bandit leader and said, "Brother, don't be angry yet. Look, the wife I brought you this time is beautiful..."
Before he could finish speaking, he was speechless, because the leader had stopped eating and walked up to Luo Xi, glancing at him from the left and then from the right, making clicking noises.
