Chapter 201: Ascension to the Throne?

What were the three of them doing at this moment?

Oh, right, they're still crawling in the dark underground river right now.

"Hey Jiuxian, are you out of your mind? You know we're still in the cave, why are you using your powers everywhere?" Even though it's been months, Luo Xi still can't help but want to curse when she thinks about it.

After waiting for ages, she and Chu Zhe finally saw this guy pull through and transform into a wind-type ability user. But Jiu Xian was so excited that as soon as Luo Xi untied him, he started punching and slapping him here and there.

Unfortunately, he couldn't control his superpowers. Not only did he open up the underground river beneath his feet, but he also blasted down the cave. The huge rocks above instantly blocked the cave entrance, and the three of them were swept far away by the current, unable to turn back.

"Now look what's happened, we've been climbing for months and still haven't made it out."

Loxi's tone was full of frustration, but she activated her superpower to the maximum and flew across the river at high speed.

Jiuxian followed silently behind Luo Xi without saying a word.

Loxi thought the man had finally realized his mistake, but when he turned around, he saw that the guy being scolded was having a great time, sometimes using wind blades to cut off protruding rocks on the rock wall, and sometimes throwing an air compression bomb into the water to make a loud bang.

Rosie: "!!!"

"Nine Strings, you dare to blow this place up again?"

Unexpectedly, Jiu Xian raised his eyes, which were still slightly red from his recent transformation into a superhuman, glanced at Luo Xi indifferently, and actually condensed a large compressed air bomb and threw it into the water.

"Bang--"

Another loud bang, and a fish that had been blown up floated to the surface of the water.

Loxi: "..."

He raised his hand and unleashed a spatial blade.

She's definitely going to teach this guy a lesson today.

The eyes of the nine-stringed opponent on the other side were frighteningly bright; it was time for another sparring match.

Chu Zhe, who was at the back, rubbed his forehead, then flashed between the two and blocked their attacks. He said helplessly, "Do you even want to get out of here? If you blow this place up again, we'll have to take a detour."

Actually, just a few days after they fell down, they were almost out of the underground river, but then the two of them got into a fight and blew up the underground river, which caused them to wander further and further away.

Loxi touched her nose and withdrew her powers.

Nine Strings regretfully threw the newly formed compressed bullet into the water and quickly floated forward.

“Go outside and fight again,” he said.

Rosie had regained her senses by now: "I'm not that free."

After she finished speaking, she had already passed the Nine Strings and floated far away.

The three of them stopped fighting and finally emerged from the cold and damp underground river two months later. Fortunately, there was no shortage of food and supplies in the Loxi Space, otherwise they would have starved to death.

Looking at the sun that hadn't been seen in a long time, the three of them felt as if they had been transported to another world, and stood at the cave entrance gazing into the distance for a long time.

Before me were tall trees and lush shrubs and weeds, and the air was fresh and pleasant.

"Have you noticed that the vegetation here has become much more lush since my spirit spring tree was destroyed?" Luo Xi reached out and plucked a blade of grass, examining it closely.

Chu Zhe thought it was normal: "In the past, we only used spiritual spring water to soak seeds, and the crops grew so well. Now that its energy is scattered everywhere and absorbed by all things, it is naturally different."

Rosie thought about it and agreed.

"Do you still have a lot of divine water?" That was all Jiuxian cared about.

Loxi glanced at him: "Not many left."

As she spoke, she began to carefully discern the location, and then walked in one direction.

"Then what about the crystal core?" Jiuxian asked again.

"Just one, you can have it." Luo Xi said without turning her head.

Do you believe in Nine Strings?

He certainly didn't believe it, but he didn't say anything and just silently followed.

After traveling for several more days, they finally arrived at a small town.

The not-so-small town was bustling with activity today, with crowds of people thronging the streets and all sorts of red lanterns hanging everywhere.

Loshi asked in bewilderment, "Is today some kind of holiday?"

Despite having attended various festivals across Apocalypse for so long, Rosie still doesn't really understand them.

"Let's find a small shop to grab a bite to eat, and we can ask around while we're there," Chu Zhe suggested.

“Alright.” Luo Xi had been feeling unwell lately from eating food stored in her space and was looking for a change of pace.

"Hey, there's a snail rice noodle shop over there." She pointed to a small shop on her right.

After surviving the apocalypse, Chu Zhe became less picky about food, which made Jiu Xian somewhat disgusted with him.

"There are too many people, and the shop is too small," he emphasized.

Luo Xi ignored him, rushed over and ordered a large bowl for each person, along with a lot of side dishes, and then found a seat to sit down.

Jiuxian looked at the shop again and again until the noodles were served, then he slowly moved over and sat down.

Luo Xi had already taken several bites and was speechless at him. It was just a little squeezed, was it really that big of a deal?

After everyone finished eating, she called the waiter over.

"Excuse me, sir, what day is it today? Why is the town so lively?"

"You don't know?" The waiter looked on in astonishment, scrutinizing the three of them as if they were three country bumpkins.

Country bumpkin Luo Xi: "!!!??"

He exchanged a glance with Chu Zhe before asking, "Is it some kind of special festival in town?"

The waiter next to them was at a loss for words: "Sirs, have you just come from the deep mountains and forests? Otherwise, how come you don't even know about such an important day?"

Luo Xi touched her nose: "More or less."

Underground rivers are really no different from those deep in the mountains and forests.

No wonder, the waiter could only patiently explain: "Today is the day His Majesty the Sage Emperor ascends the throne."

"Although we are in the south, far from the capital, we are still happy, aren't we? Finally, we don't have to fight anymore."

Ascension to the throne?

Rose could hardly believe her ears: "Are you sure?"

Could it be that after she left, Yue Zhengfei and his men couldn't even defeat that rabble, or...?

They thought she was dead and chose someone else to be empress?

The waiter was speechless: "This is a momentous occasion for the whole nation. How could I dare to make such a claim? If you three don't believe me, you can ask other people."

“No need to ask, no need to ask, what this young man is saying is true.” An elderly woman at the next table enthusiastically moved over to Luo Xi and the others: “This is indeed an auspicious day for His Majesty’s ascension to the throne.”

"We live far away and can't go to the capital to see the excitement, so we can only come to town to have some fun."

Now Rose had no choice but to believe it was true.

"Then who is this His Majesty?" she asked in a softer tone.

"This..." The old lady hesitated when asked about His Majesty's name.

Just then, a man in black suddenly darted out from the street, staring at Luo Xi and the other two in disbelief for a long time.

Luo Xi's heart skipped a beat. Could it be an assassin?

Before she could figure it out, the man in black quickly pulled out a signal flare from his pocket and shot it into the sky with a "bang".

Then he rushed into the store and knelt down on one knee before Luo Xi: "Your subordinate, Shadow Sixteen, greets the Boss!"
