Chapter 23 They Ate It

The short man instinctively sensed danger and stopped in his tracks, roaring fiercely, "What do you want?"

His voice was loud, but it carried a hint of fear.

Loxi didn't speak, and her expression didn't even waver.

If it weren't for the child here, she wouldn't mind letting them taste what it's like to be cooked and eaten.

But now...

With a slight lift of his hand, Luo Xi heard a few soft whooshing sounds, and three corpses appeared on the ground, nestled close to the already cold wolf.

"What a waste of such good wolf meat."

She said something indifferently, then picked up the obedient child without looking back and quickly left.

After a while, the child asked in a small voice, "Sister, can I open my eyes now?"

Luo Xi smiled and said, "That's fine."

The child sighed, slowly removed his little hand from his face, and carefully looked around. When he no longer saw the people who had frightened him, his tense body finally relaxed completely.

"Sister, did the big bad guy get chased away?" he asked.

“Yes.” Loshi gently patted the child’s back. “I chased him away. No one can hurt you anymore.”

As he spoke, Loxi followed the footsteps of the group and made his way towards their base camp.

Such wicked people must not be let go.

"That's great!" The child smiled innocently again, just like when Luo Xi first met him.

"Sister, you must be Zhouzhou's guardian angel. Every time Zhouzhou encounters bad guys, you suddenly appear and drive them away."

"Hmm, maybe it really is." Luo Xi herself was also quite surprised.

Unlike in ancient times, where people only know each other by name, they might never meet again after parting ways. But these two people met repeatedly.

And it always happens at the most crucial moment.

"Hehe!" The child hugged Luo Xi's chubby little hands even tighter, laughing like a little fool.

As he laughed, tears welled up in his eyes again: "Sister, do dead people really fly to heaven to live a good life?"

Luo Xi's expression hardened: "What?"

The little child's body suddenly trembled: "Cui Cui, Cui Cui was eaten by them, eaten by them!"

"Grandma said that Zhouzhou's mother has gone to heaven to live a good life, but, but Zhouzhou knows that his mother is actually dead."

Rose felt like she had a thorn stuck in her throat: "Yes, they went to heaven, where there is no pain, no hunger, and it's beautiful."

As she spoke, her eyes unconsciously became misty, but she blinked hard twice to hide it.

But if you look closely, you'll find that in the hidden teardrops, there's a middle-aged couple looking at Rose with doting smiles.

"Who are you?" Just then, a group of men and women stood by a clear spring, staring at them menacingly.

Rose discovered that there were no children among them.

Wei Zhou's face, which had just recovered, turned deathly pale again.

At this moment, a plump old man in the crowd recognized Wei Zhou: "It's you, you little brat."

Suddenly he realized something: "Where's my wife? Where's my son?"

Luo Xi didn't even glance at him, and gently asked Wei Zhou, "Don't be afraid, I'm here. Tell your sister, is it them?"

The child was trembling with fear, but still nodded emphatically: "Yes, it's them."

"Zhouzhou is so brave." Luo Xi put the child down on the ground. "Do you remember what you did over there?"

"Okay!" The child obediently turned his back and stood up straight, skillfully lifting up the chubby little boy and covering his big eyes with his hands: "Sister, Zhouzhou is all better now, go chase away the bad guys!"

The group of people over there got angry when they saw that Luo and Wei Zhou ignored them. They started cursing and rushed over.

"You little bitch, you're asking for it."

Luo Xi quickly took two steps forward, away from Wei Zhou, without saying a word, and her superpowers shot out in that direction as if they were free.

"ah--"

"Ah, ah—"

Screams rang out one after another, followed by the thud of bodies falling to the ground. This sound lasted for almost two minutes before finally stopping.

Luo looked at the corpses scattered on the ground, then calmly withdrew his supernatural powers.

From a distance, if she wasn't mistaken, what appeared to be a finger-like object was in the bubbling pot.

Loxi, who had intended to reach for the spring water, withdrew her foot.

She really didn't want the spring water that these people had used.

"Zhouzhou, let's go." Luo Xi picked up the child again and walked towards the abandoned thatched hut of Zangma.

"Sister, where are we going now?" the child asked.

“Go get my horse first, then I’ll take you to find your grandma and the others,” Rose said patiently.

"Grandma?" Wei Zhou's big eyes lit up instantly. "Wouldn't...wouldn't that be too much trouble for my sister?"

He thought he would never see them again.

"No?" Luo Xi couldn't keep taking care of a child forever; finding his family and sending him there was the best solution.

Moreover, she felt that the Wei family must be frantically searching for the child.

"Let's go find Grandma and the others!" Wei Zhou cheered, and it took a while for his excitement to subside.

He pouted and planted a soft kiss on Luo Xi's cheek: "Thank you, sister."

"good!"

However, after they got the horses, they didn't immediately set off to look for people.

Firstly, it was so hot at noon that you could get sunburned; secondly, they were both hungry.

Especially Wei Zhou, who hadn't eaten in ages. He hadn't shown any signs of hunger until now, when he had someone he trusted by his side, he fainted from hunger.
