Chapter 58 Call the Boss

The two young men looked at them with mockery. Sure enough, all bandits are the same; they even steal this little bit of food. They really want to starve them to death.

Since they can't survive anyway, I really don't understand why Uncle Zhou is still bowing and scraping to this female bandit. Rather than starve to death, he might as well fight to the death.

However, under the pressure of Uncle Zhou's gaze, the two of them held back.

Loxi saw through their little antics but pretended not to, only asking the question she wanted to ask.

Who owns this villa now?

"What?" Uncle Zhou, who thought he was being asked some life-or-death question, was instantly stunned: "You only... only asked this?"

"What, you think the question is too easy? How about I change it?" Luo Xi was really fed up with them.

What are you thinking about all day?

"No, no, no need, this is very good, very good." Uncle Zhou waved his hands repeatedly, as if afraid that Luo Xi would change her mind, and began to talk about the origin of the farm.

"This farm was originally the ancestral property of Master Zhao. It has been the Zhao family's property since I was a child, and it has been passed down for several generations."

“So?” Rosie immediately grasped the key phrase: “Then now…”

"Now..." Uncle Zhou thought of Zhao Bapi, the skinflint who used to make everyone hate him so much, and felt a little emotional.

"This place is now a no-man's land. Just a few days ago, a group of robbers came to the manor..."

He glanced at Luo Xi furtively, and seeing that her expression remained unchanged, he continued, "They kill anyone they see and steal anything they find."

The hellish scene vividly resurfaced in his mind once again, and Uncle Zhou trembled uncontrollably, shivering several times in a row.

“That day, I took a few juniors to town to inquire about the disaster situation and just barely escaped. When we came back, we saw that dozens of members of Master Zhao’s family, including the steward and servants, had been buried alive in the small woods by the roadside.”

"Even Master Zhao's grandson, who was only a few months old, was no exception." He closed his eyes in fear, and he still couldn't forget those clear and innocent eyes that were smiling at him back then.

Luo Xi felt a lump in her throat and remained silent for a long time before asking again, "Didn't anyone in their family escape?"

Uncle Zhou wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes, composed himself, and shook his head: "No, they're gone. Their family has made a living from this farm for generations, and the whole family lives in the manor. So, in this calamity, the Zhao family didn't even have a single descendant left."

Master Zhao was hardly a good employer; in fact, he could be quite disliked. Yet, seeing his ultimate fate, Uncle Zhou couldn't help but feel a pang of regret.

At this moment, Luo Xi didn't know whether to be happy that he could take over the manor for himself, or to lament the hardships of the world.

After a moment's thought, she stood up and said, "Thanks!"

"Oh, right, since the farm has become unclaimed land, and I've killed the bandits who robbed it, then this manor will belong to me from now on. You have no objections, right?"

Uncle Zhou dared not object. This farm wasn't originally theirs, and they couldn't keep it on their own anyway; it would be taken over sooner or later. But...

"Can we still stay here and farm?"

They have been tenant farmers for generations and know nothing but farming. If they cannot stay, what will they do in the future?

Luo Xi was more than happy to agree: "Stay if you want, I'm going to hire people anyway."

"Great!" All the tenants couldn't help but cheer.

"What about our house?" Seeing that Luo Xi was quite easy to talk to, Uncle Zhou became much bolder.

Luo Xi didn't even glance at him, called out to Liu Xiaoyu, and prepared to go back.

"I'm not living in the house, so you can stay if you want."

Uncle Zhou was now completely relieved: "Thank you, Your Majesty, thank you, Your Majesty."

"What 'Queen'? I don't like that title," Falosi said. "From now on, just call me... the Boss!"

This will be a new beginning for me since arriving in the Tianqi Dynasty.

Uncle Zhou was taken aback for a moment, but quickly recovered and shouted, "Yes, thank you, Boss!"

The others joined in, shouting, "Thank you, Boss!"

That's the right way to address her, Luo Xi nodded in satisfaction.

Then, with a sack in each hand, he easily picked up the grain from the ground, and left with Liu Xiaoyu.

The others were once again stunned. That was a bag of grain weighing over 100 pounds, and it was just... easily carried away?

Amazing power!

The young man in the gray shirt was indignant: "Damn it, that damned female bandit, no matter how nice she talks, she's still the same. That's our only food."

"You have the nerve to say that?" Uncle Zhou turned around and kicked him in the backside: "If it weren't for you guys, would the grain have been lost?"

"How many times have I told you, everyone must stay in the woods and not come out, but what have you done? You've been ignoring me, haven't you?"

"I didn't keep an eye on you for long, and you sneaked here. What, are you tired of living?"

If it weren't for the easygoing nature of the gang leader they encountered, these two would probably be dead.

Knowing he was in the wrong, Zhou Yan, dressed in gray, lowered his head and murmured softly, "I just... I just saw the raging fire here last night, so... so I wanted to come back and check..."

Uncle Zhou sighed: "Alright, don't be so reckless next time. Luckily, this time we met a good person."

"Where is she a good person?" Zhou Yan got agitated again, pointing in the direction Luo Xi left and cursing, "She not only covered us in dung, but also took away the last of our food. She's just like those bandits before."

"You—" Uncle Zhou was really angry to death by this person. He picked up a wooden stick from the side and planned to give this bastard a good beating to teach him a lesson. But at this moment, he saw two burlap sacks suddenly floating over from the side of the path.
