Chapter 124 We must capture at least two wild boars.

After picking a few bamboo leaves, Xingxing lost her enthusiasm and ran off with Ruru to find mushrooms.

"Ruru, come quick! There are so many red mushrooms here!" Xingxing was overjoyed to find so many mushrooms in the grass and quickly and secretly called her best friend over to pick them together.

"Wow, what beautiful red mushrooms!" Ruru's big eyes sparkled, and she grinned as she and Xingxing stuck out their little bottoms and diligently picked all the red mushrooms.

Half an hour later, everyone gathered together to share their results. Zhou Dafu and Zhou Sanfu not only picked bamboo leaves, but also picked a lot of wild vegetables and fruits. Zhou Erfu found more than ten bird eggs, caught two wild rabbits and a bag of bayberries. Zhou Sifu dug up three bamboo rats.

On Friday, Fu collected a lot of medicinal herbs but didn't find anything to eat. Xingxing and Ruru picked a lot of mushrooms, including shiitake mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, and all sorts of other fungi.

"These termite mushrooms and trumpet mushrooms are edible, but these are poisonous and can kill you." Zhou Erfu picked out all the red mushrooms and threw them away.

“These red mushrooms are edible. Mom picked some and ate them last time,” Xingxing said angrily, glaring at her second brother.

"This red mushroom is not the same as that red mushroom. This one is darker in color and has a different shape. Most people can't tell the difference. Only those who frequently go into the mountains to learn about mushrooms can identify it."

"The red umbrella with a white stem, the one that's been eaten and laid flat, that's the kind of red mushroom they're talking about. Listen carefully, your second brother is going to teach you how to identify it. This one is poisonous..." Zhou Erfu patiently explained the differences between the two types of red mushrooms to Xingxing, so that the little girl wouldn't pick them again next time.

"Did you understand?" Zhou Erfu asked.

Xingxing blinked her big, watery eyes, her rosy little face showing a blank expression. "I feel like I know, but I also feel like I don't. Sigh, next time I pick some red mushrooms, I'll show them to you first. I should be able to recognize them after picking them a few more times."

None of the five brothers thought it was difficult. To survive in the mountains, you have to learn to identify what is edible and what is not. This is the most basic thing, otherwise you can easily be poisoned to death.

Tie Qingfeng and Song Jiao looked like they had learned something, they hadn't expected the quintuplets to be so capable, with perfect wilderness survival skills.

Zhou Erfu brought a wild rabbit and a bamboo rat and went with Zhou Sifu to a nearby stream to deal with them, leaving Zhou Dafu and the other two to keep an eye on their two younger sisters.

"Take the wild rabbits and bamboo rats home. We'll have the pastries and fruits we brought for lunch," Tie Qingfeng said.

"Pastries aren't filling, meat is much more satisfying. My fourth brother and I will be right back, don't worry about us." Zhou Erfu and Zhou Sifu, who loved meat, didn't want to eat sweet pastries and quickly ran off.

"Xingxing also loves to eat meat, but pastries are delicious too." Xingxing likes sweets but doesn't like sour ones, so she didn't try any bayberries today.

However, the little girl really likes to drink bayberry soup and dried bayberries, so the family has a lot of dried bayberries stored up.

Everyone was eating snacks and wild fruits, chatting and laughing, when Xingxing suddenly stopped moving, as if frozen in place. She listened intently for a while and then asked everyone, "Did you hear anything?"

"Birds chirping and insects buzzing?" Song Jiao replied casually.

"No, it's the sound of a pig grunting. It sounds like there's a wild boar nearby," Xingxing said seriously, tilting her head.

Song Jiao stopped eating and listened intently for a while, but still heard nothing. "Nonsense, where did this wild boar come from?"

Seeing that Xingxing's face was serious, Tie Qingfeng was clearly not joking. He glanced at the guard, who respectfully replied, "We have already sent people to check the area."

"We're almost out of oil for cooking! The wild boar is just in time, let's go catch it!" Everyone was taken aback by Xingxing's matter-of-fact tone.

Listen to what they're saying, making it sound like catching wild boars is as easy as eating.

Zhou Dafu and Zhou Zhoufu exchanged a glance, subtly conveying their thoughts. Their sister, this silly girl, had actually revealed her special abilities in front of outsiders. How could they possibly cover it up?

We need to do something before everyone notices.

“There are indeed wild boars approaching. Everyone be careful. It would be dangerous if we encountered a herd of wild boars.” Zhou Sanfu stood up, holding a machete, and stood protectively beside Xingxing and Ruru, looking as if he had noticed it all along.

"Why did my second and fourth brothers take so long? I hope those two kids didn't run into any trouble?" Zhou Dafu frowned. He and his third and fifth brothers were all as strong as ordinary people. Without his second and fourth brothers by his side, their sense of security would plummet if they encountered wild animals. He was afraid that the three of them wouldn't be able to completely protect Xingxing and Ruru.

At this critical moment, the guards of the Song family would definitely prioritize protecting Tie Qingfeng and Song Jiao, and wouldn't have the energy to care about their lives. Zhou Dafu was anxious and looked around to see where there were any big trees to climb, thinking it would be safer to carry Xingxing and Ruru up a tree.

Zhou Sanfu thought the same thing and quickly found the target tree, the tallest and largest bayberry tree a hundred meters ahead. "Big brother, fifth brother, let's go over there and carry Xingxing and Ruru up the tree."

The head guard watched Zhou Dafu and his men run away quickly and then climb the tree with the speed of monkeys. He immediately understood why they did this, so he ordered, "Protect the young master and Miss Song. Ye, you take a few men and find a towering tree to carry the young master and Song Xiaojiao up there. Leave the rest to us."

These guards had no names, only code names. The guard code name Night immediately led four people, carrying Tie Qingfeng and Song Jiao, to a big tree, and leaped onto the tree trunk.

"Tsk tsk, it's great to know kung fu. Flying directly from the ground to the tree, that must be light-body kung fu. I want to learn light-body kung fu too," Zhou Wufu said with a look of envy.

"Come on, you've been learning kung fu for a few days and you can't even hold a horse stance properly. You think you can learn light-body kung fu?" Zhou Sanfu's tone was slightly mocking.
