The men in black always appeared around the end of the Chou hour (1-3 AM). Zhou and his group would be on high alert as the Chou hour approached, and sure enough, just as they expected, the men in black appeared as the Chou hour drew to a close.
Of course, it was Xingxing who reminded everyone that the men in black were too well hidden. Unless they showed themselves, Boss Zhou and Brother Fu wouldn't be able to find them. Among the three female guards, Jingjing was the most perceptive. She noticed when the men in black gradually surrounded them.
Xiao Xiao realized something was wrong after things had quieted down.
As for Candy, she's all about brute force and doesn't have many ulterior motives. All she thinks about is eating and sleeping. If you don't specifically tell her what to do, she'll lie down and sleep after dinner. But if you tell her that she needs to help with the fight tonight, she'll obediently wait until the fight is over before going to sleep.
Xingxing can now foresee the arrival of the men in black. Compared to before, she is now able to sense danger much earlier and prepare everyone in advance when danger approaches.
Just now, Xingxing pointed in three directions, "Men in black are coming, surrounding us from three sides."
Behind them was the direction leading to the town. If they wanted to escape, they could only drive the carriage forward. However, the men in black were waiting for them here. They couldn't escape. The men in black were determined to kill them. No matter where they ran, they would be caught up.
The only option is to try to eliminate the opponent; if that fails, then run away.
Zhou Erfu and Zhou Sifu quickly applied herbal juice to their bodies. This herb was dug up from the mountain by Wufu in the evening, and it was said to prevent bee and insect stings.
Actually, it works in a similar way to the herb I applied last time, the one that made big insects wary. The only difference is that last time it was used to prevent big insects, and this time it's used to prevent wasps.
Candy hid in the grass next to a bucket of honey water. She licked her lips, feeling a little tempted, but Xingxing said she couldn't drink it. He said that if she did, her stomach would get bigger and she would die. He warned her not to drink it secretly and that he would give her honeycomb to eat after the mission was completed. So she had to resist the temptation no matter how much she wanted it.
Besides the candy, Jingjing, Xiaoxiao, and Zhao Guihua each had a wooden bucket filled with honey water, waiting for the men in black to come so they could splash it on them.
"Can you smell something sweet? I feel like there's a sweet smell in the air." The leader of the men in black raised his hand to stop his advance and asked his companion in confusion.
The man in black, one of his accomplices, sniffed hard. He said, puzzled, "What's so strange about that? It's normal for wildflowers in the mountains to have a sweet scent."
“It’s not right. Something feels off,” the leader of the men in black said in a deep voice. “Remember the ten men we sent out on the mission before? Five of them were killed by a tiger. I heard that the farmer deliberately lured the tiger there, but the farmer and his family had herbs on their bodies that tigers are afraid of. I have reason to suspect that they’re using the same trick again this time.”
After saying that, he asked, puzzled, "But that doesn't make sense. Did they know we'd be there tonight? And what about the time before? Did they know something beforehand?"
"Boss, there's no time to think about these things right now. Let's get started first, lest things get complicated." The man in black next to him, impatient with his rambling, interrupted him.
The leader glared at the man, who immediately lowered his head and remained silent, no longer daring to overstep his bounds.
But after being interrupted, the leader couldn't remember what the question was. He had clearly grasped the key point, but the brainless interruption next to him made him forget it.
The leader of the men in black glared angrily at the man next to him, then ordered with a grim face, "Make your move. Leave no one alive."
The fire was burning particularly brightly tonight, illuminating the surroundings. The man in black had a vague feeling that something was wrong. There was only a little girl of about five or six years old sitting by the fire, roasting some kind of meat. The rest of the Zhou family was nowhere to be seen.
They've probably set up an ambush. I heard this family hired three guards who are quite skilled, but only these three know kung fu; the others are nothing to worry about.
The little girl was their primary target. Even if they didn't kill anyone else, it didn't matter; taking down the little girl would complete their mission. So, the man in black, knife in hand, used his lightness skill to leap directly towards the stars.
Candy jumped up, picked up the bucket, and splashed water forcefully. Three men in black were hit by the water. The men in black thought it was some kind of hidden weapon and instinctively raised their knives to block it, but ended up getting soaked.
It's really inexplicable.
That wasn't all. Several more buckets of water were splashed at the men in black. The men in black were momentarily stunned. Then they saw the farmer rushing towards the carriage, seemingly preparing to escape.
What kind of operation is this? Pour a few buckets of water and then flee on horseback?
Erfu and Sifu returned very quickly. Almost as soon as Zhou Laoda and the others got into the carriage, they ran back and quickly climbed onto the carriage.
Three female guards covered the rear, while Zhou Laoda drove one carriage and Zhou Dafu drove another.
"It's done, let's run!" Zhou Erfu said, panting.
Don't ask what they were doing just now; they went and stirred up a hornet's nest. Luckily, they had applied herbal juice to their bodies beforehand, or they would have been doomed.
Inside the carriage driven by Chow Tai Fook were Gu Yiqiao, Zhou Sanfu, Zhou Wufu, and Zhou Erfu and Zhou Sifu, who had just returned from stirring up a hornet's nest.
The carriage driven by Boss Zhou contained only Zhao Guihua and Xingxing. This carriage was following behind, while the carriage in front sped forward, but Boss Zhou's carriage controlled its speed.
Seeing that they were getting further and further away and the three female guards had not yet retreated and caught up, they knew that they were entangled and unable to break free. They could only shout, "Jingjing, Xiaoxiaotangguo, hurry up and catch up!"
Xiao Xiao, representing the other three, replied, "Uncle Zhou, you go first, don't worry about us. If we survive, we'll come looking for you."
