"You're about to die and you're still talking so much nonsense. We're going to kill you. I'd like to see who you can send to deal with us." The one who was just as talkative was the assassin Wu Lianlian had paid. Although he was also dressed in black and masked, he was different from Wu Lianlian's men.
Wu Lianlian's men in black walked at the very back, in an orderly fashion and rarely spoke. The hired assassins led the way, running and shouting as if to build momentum or bolster their courage.
Hearing Xingxing's harsh words, he stopped and shouted back from afar.
"Idiot, the more you talk, the sooner you die." The man in black behind couldn't help but mutter under his breath.
The Zhou family members were all determined to fight to the death against the men in black, even if they died, they wanted to take as many people down with them. Zhao Guihua held a long-handled machete in her hand, protecting Xingxing behind her, and glared at the men in black who were rushing towards her with a gloomy expression.
Before long, the Zhou family was fighting with the men in black. There were too many of them. The thirty men in black at the back stood at a distance and watched, not intending to make a move for the time being. However, there were more than seventy hired assassins. A large group of them surrounded them, and Jingjing and Xiaoxiao had a hard time dealing with them.
Boss Zhou and Brother Fu fought back fiercely, but they were soon injured, their blood staining the beach red...
"We're almost at shore. Can you hear the sounds of weapons clashing?" Zhu Lin stood on the deck, gazing into the distance through the darkness.
Zhu Qiuyu nodded slightly. "There are indeed people fighting. Could it be Japanese pirates?"
Zhu Changge took a few steps forward and said in a deep voice, "If there really are Japanese pirates, then they should be killed."
"I sense the person I'm looking for is over there. Oh no, they might be in danger." Before Zhu Lin finished speaking, he leaped into the air and flew towards the shore, riding the waves.
"Junior Brother," Zhu Changge called out and followed after him.
Seeing this, the other five had no choice but to chase after him. Their junior brother was indeed very skilled, but they couldn't let him take risks alone, so they had to follow behind and protect him.
"Dafu!" Zhao Guihua screamed.
The knife in Zhou Dafu's hand was knocked to the ground by the men in black. Seeing the four men in black raise their knives and slash at Zhou Dafu at the same time, Zhao Guihua was terrified.
"Big brother!" Xingxing screamed as well.
"Ah!" Zhou Dafu screamed, instinctively covering his head with his hands.
"Clang, clang." It was the ear-piercing sound of swords clashing. The four men in black felt a sudden numbness in their arms, and the swords in their hands were shaken off their hands.
"Are you Japanese pirates?" Zhu Lin asked seriously.
Knowing the intimidating power of the Japanese pirates, the man in black wanted to scare the young man in white away, so he sneered and said, "Knowing who we are, why don't you get out of the way and stop blocking our way, or you'll all die."
"Japanese pirates, you deserve to die. This young master will send you on your way." The young boy spoke in a condescending tone.
Then, with a swift movement—or rather, a sword strike—the group of men in black behind him didn't even see how he did it. The white figure swept past the seventy men in black with the speed of a whirlwind, and in less than the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, he leaped up and stood alone on a clean stretch of beach.
The sea breeze gently lifted a corner of his robe. Even in the murderous night, the young man remained handsome and aloof, seemingly untouched by any impurity.
The group of men in black remained in their attack stances, standing motionless like statues. The leader of the group, standing at the back, was terrified. Where did this monster come from, able to so easily end everyone's lives just by passing by?
"Boom." That was the sound of the leader of the men in black having his head blown open. His guess was correct. All seventy-odd men in black who claimed to be Japanese pirates fell down, leaving no survivors.
He realized with a clear mind that even with the addition of the thirty of them, they were still no match for that boy. He was not human, but a monster. A boy in his early teens who could fight against a hundred people by himself, what the hell, where did he come from?
Could it really have been summoned by the little princess? Or perhaps it was the Dragon King's 'Third Prince' who emerged from the seabed? Cough cough, the leader of the men in black instantly conjured up a dragon palace and a whole host of shrimp soldiers and crab generals in his mind.
"Are you also Japanese pirates?" The boy's voice was as melodious as a babbling brook, steady yet carrying the naivety of youth.
The leader of the men in black had a sudden realization and quickly replied, "No, we are citizens of the Great Jin Dynasty, not Japanese pirates."
He was certain that if he dared to say yes, the next thing to happen would be the deaths of thirty of them.
"Then why are you dressed in black like them and have your face covered?" the boy asked, displeased, feeling that the other party was not telling the truth.
"Young master, please calm down and listen to my excuse, not my explanation. We were on a mission nearby and came to investigate when we heard the fighting. We are not with these men in black." The leader of the men in black never knew he could be so eloquent and have such a strong mentality.
Seeing the boy frown, yes, even though it was dark and he couldn't see the other person's expression clearly, he could clearly sense that the other person was displeased and had frowned.
So he quickly added, "Young master, look at the fabric of those men in black. It's much worse than the black clothes we're wearing. Ours is all black, while theirs is black with a grayish tinge. And the knives they use are of varying quality, unlike ours, which are all uniform. Their knives are dull and lifeless, while ours are much sharper, gleaming even in the night."
The boy was intrigued by his words and said, "Throw over that gleaming knife you're holding."
The leader of the men in black paused for a moment. Fortunately, he had brought more than one knife; he also carried two daggers and some small hidden weapons on his waist. Otherwise, if he had thrown the knife to the other party, he would have been in a very unfavorable situation, as he was unarmed.
