"I'm done eating, where are Senior Brother and the others?" Xingxing asked in a soft, sweet voice.
"I went to find that madman." The boy didn't mention the swamp, afraid that Xingxing would remember last night's dream.
But Xingxing didn't seem to be affected by the dream. Apart from being suddenly startled awake last night, she seemed perfectly fine. "Is she going to the swamp?"
Zhu Lin nodded slightly. "Yes, they should be back soon. With Senior Brother and the others personally taking charge, the truth will come out quickly."
"Brother Phosphorus, come a little closer, I have something to tell you..." Xingxing made the boy lower his head, then whispered in his ear about the dream she had last night.
"Did I scare you? Are you scared?" That was all the boy cared about.
Xingxing nodded first, then shook her head. "At first there was a little, but I didn't feel any malice. I haven't dreamed about it again since, so I'm not afraid."
That's good.
After thinking for a moment, Xingxing added, "Let me tell you, the Chaimu Village in my dream is different from the Chaimu Village we see now. I saw that pretty lady walk all the way from the entrance of the village to the end before heading to the swamp. The Chaimu Village in my dream is full of thatched huts."
Only one house at the village entrance was a brick-and-tile house, but when we entered the village yesterday, we didn't see that blue-brick and white-tiled house. The houses in the village now are different from the houses in my dream; the two locust trees in the courtyard of that brick-and-tile house are also gone.
The boy quickly figured it out: the Chaimu Village in Xingxing's dream must have been the Chaimu Village of the past, but it was hard to say exactly how many years the timeline in the dream had been moved forward.
