Chapter 407 Thrilling

Behind them came a huge, earth-shattering roar from the mountaintop. Xingxing clung tightly to the boy's waist, afraid he would leave her side again. After running for an unknown amount of time, the boy suddenly swayed and lunged forward.

Before he collapsed, he rolled over to shield the person in his arms with his body, preventing himself from crushing her.

"Brother Phosphorus, what's wrong?" Xingxing quickly climbed off him and hugged him tightly.

Before she fainted, the boy held her hand and whispered, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

His voice was actually very soft and completely drowned out by the rain, but Xingxing heard it. With tears in her eyes, she nodded vigorously, "I'm not afraid, Brother Lin, you shouldn't be afraid either. I can protect you too."

She sat there holding the boy without moving, and after an unknown amount of time, the wind and rain gradually subsided, the mountains and rivers stopped shifting and churning, and everything returned to calm.

The ground was too wet. She looked around and decided to find a cave or a drier place to rest and heal her brother Lin's injuries first.

So she helped the boy sit up, then squatted down and carried him on her back. She was five years younger than Zhu Lin, who had long since grown tall and had long legs. Although she wasn't fat, her frame alone was quite heavy.

Although Xingxing was tall, she was still a girl and was much weaker than a man. She was having a hard time carrying the boy on her back.

"Brother Phosphorus, don't worry, I'll take good care of you. You must wake up soon." Oh dear, he's so heavy. He looks so tall and slender, how can he be so heavy?

She carried Xingxing for half an hour, but then she couldn't go any further. No, she had to think of a way—to make a raft, put her on it, and pull her along. That would be much more practical.
