Xingxing didn't believe her, no matter how solemn the other party's oath was, she wouldn't believe it, but Yokoyama Chiyo followed her like a piece of chewing gum, and she couldn't shake her off no matter what she did, so she had no choice.
She would pick whatever wild vegetables the stars picked, and she would pick whatever fruits the stars picked. In short, whatever the stars were digging for, the Japanese pirate would dig for too. She couldn't escape it; it was like a persistent ghost.
Moreover, whenever the female Japanese pirates were hungry, they would harass Xingxing, regardless of whether she was sleeping or resting, and would wake her up directly.
Just like this time, Yokoyama Chiyo felt her stomach rumbling. She ate vegetarian food all day without any oil or fat, so she got hungry very quickly. She could only find a little food each time, and she would get hungry again soon after eating. So when she was hungry, she would rummage through the stars.
"Don't you know those wild vegetables and fruits? Why do you have to drag me along? Can't you go find them yourself?" Xingxing glared at her fiercely.
"You always call me when you go out, so why can't I call you when I go out?" Yokoyama Chiyoshi said confidently.
Although Xingxing was unhappy about choking, she still went to find food with Hengshan.
Because she has Zhou Wufu, who likes to collect herbs, and Zhu Chumo, a divine doctor, as well as Xingxing's own precognitive abilities, she will pick herbs whenever she sees them while she goes out to find food, just in case.
Chiyo Yokoyama was a plastic surgeon who had some experience with traditional Chinese medicine, so she knew some herbs, though not many. However, she would pick whatever the star looked like and follow suit. The two of them lived peacefully together for a while.
Xingxing was extremely anxious. Half a month had passed since Zhu Lin fell into a coma, but he still showed no signs of waking up, and she didn't know what was wrong.
The weather on the island is very different from that on the mainland. Every now and then, a dark cloud will drift in from the sky, and soon after, a light rain will fall.
There have been three light rains in the past two weeks, each lasting about half an hour, with a persistent, annoying drizzle that has made the roads on the island very muddy.
Xingxing wanted to leave with Zhu Lin but dared not make any rash moves, fearing that she might not be able to find another cave if she was carrying someone. She could withstand getting wet in the rain, but if Zhu Lin got wet in the rain while unconscious, it would undoubtedly make matters worse.
What worried her even more was that the female pirate was following her and might suddenly attack her at any time. She wasn't too worried about herself, though, because she was lucky and blessed by the heavens. Anyone who wanted her life would have to see if the heavens would allow it first. If the heavens didn't allow it, they would only suffer the consequences of their actions.
But Lin-gege needs her protection. He's unconscious, and if the female Japanese pirates wanted to kill him, it would be a piece of cake. Xingxing has been on tenterhooks lately, afraid that the female Japanese pirates would suddenly change their tune and kill Zhu Lin.
Zhu Lin's brocade pouch was still there, but no matter how Xingxing tried to pry it open, she couldn't get anything out of it. Only Zhu Lin could freely enter and exit the mustard seed space, and only he could take out the contents; no one else could touch it.
"Brother Lin, I can't hold on much longer. Please wake up soon. The female Japanese pirate is following us. I can't get rid of her. I'm so worried she'll kill someone." That night, Xingxing and Zhu Lin lay together, and Xingxing whispered in his ear.
Chiyo Yokoyama had excellent hearing; she could hear even the faintest sound the stars made. She never lay down at night, but always meditated not far from the fire.
At this moment, she opened her eyes and looked at the two people lying down. The little girl was lying on the outside and the boy was lying on the inside, but Yokoyama's gaze first swept over the boy's face. Such a handsome boy was already taken. What a pity.
“I’ve already expelled all the poison from my body, and I recognize almost everything edible on the mountain. You really have no use to me anymore.” Yokoyama smiled enigmatically.
Xingxing sat up abruptly, grabbed the sword beside her, and gripped it in her hand, ready to fight at any moment.
Yokoyama scoffed at this, clearly not taking her seriously. "You're no match for me. You can't stop me from doing whatever I want."
“You swore a solemn oath,” Xingxing reminded her.
“I can tie you up and take you off the island. Once you’re off the island, you can do whatever you want. And I didn’t say you can’t lay a hand on him.” Yokoyama raised his chin and pointed at the boy.
Xingxing: "..." I was careless.
"I won't let you hurt a single hair on Brother Lin's head, unless you step over me." Xingxing stood up, drew her sword, and stood in front of the boy.
"You really think I wouldn't dare hurt you?" Yokoyama sneered again. "You don't really take oaths that seriously, do you? In our country, oaths are like farts, they don't count at all, and many people break their oaths without being punished."
Xingxing's almond-shaped eyes widened. "You Japanese are so unprincipled, untrustworthy, despicable, and shameless?"
"I am not Japanese, I am Chinese." Yokoyama raised his voice involuntarily.
Xingxing couldn't understand her words, nor did she understand why she said that, so she tentatively asked, "Then why is your surname Yokoyama, and why does your name sound like that of a Japanese person?"
"This is an accident. My ancestral home is in a very far place, you wouldn't know if I told you. It's a pity I can't go back, so I can only live here. I want to take over the Great Jin Dynasty, wipe out the Japanese who bullied me, and become the master of this world."
"It sounds like you're hostile to the Japanese. Why don't you take over Japan first and become the King of Japan? Why are you so fixated on the Great Jin?" Xingxing wasn't actually interested in Yokoyama's ideas. She was just asking so many questions to buy time.
But Yokoyama seemed unaware of her intentions, and she suddenly felt a desire to confide in someone. She slightly raised her head, her eyes seemingly looking through the cave towards some unspeakable place.
