"What the hell are you talking about? I don't understand!" Taking advantage of the boy's unpreparedness, Xingxing suddenly threw out several poison gas balls, then picked up the boy on the ground and ran out of the cave.
This Yokoyama is mentally unstable; we can't stay with her any longer. We have to run! Just as we were about to exit the cave, Xingxing stopped and threw a few more poison gas balls into the cave, hoping to poison Yokoyama to death.
Yokoyama was indeed caught off guard because he was engrossed in his own world. When the poison gas bombs came flying at him, he inadvertently inhaled a lot of them. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his chest and almost collapsed to the ground.
When Hengshan chased after her out of the cave, she was surrounded by a burst of poisonous smoke from a violent explosion. Although she held her breath, the smoke was different from other gases; this kind of gas would flow into her nostrils on its own. By the time she realized what was happening and covered her nose, it was too late.
However, she was still very strong and managed to escape the cave. She staggered a few steps before fainting from the poison. Before she lost consciousness, she had only one thought in her mind: the poison of this smoke bomb seemed to be particularly potent, unlike the poison bombs that the other party had used before.
Xingxing struggled to carry the boy forward. Hearing the sound of someone falling behind her, she stopped and looked back. She saw that Hengshan seemed to have been poisoned and passed out. Xingxing was overjoyed.
"It would be even better if she just died. Wait, should I go over and finish her off with a few more stabs?" Xingxing was torn between two options. After thinking for a moment, she decided against it. What if Hengshan was faking unconsciousness? Wouldn't she be falling into a trap if she went back?
It's best to run first.
She carried Zhu Lin for an unknown amount of time until she was too tired to run any further. Xingxing stopped, panting, and put him down against a tree trunk. She herself was also exhausted and sat down to the side. But she didn't dare to relax and instead kept a watchful eye on her surroundings.
On the island, Xingxing didn't hear any wolf howls or roars from other large animals for the time being, so she didn't need to worry about the beasts. She was more worried that Hengshan was still alive and had caught up with her again.
She was starving and extremely thirsty after walking for so long, but she couldn't leave. It would be too dangerous to leave the unconscious boy alone.
She could only rest for a while to recover before carrying the person on her back and continuing on her way. She searched for water as she went, her throat was parched. She hadn't brought the only water bag she had when she escaped from the cave, nor some leftover wild fruit, what a pity.
As dusk fell, Xingxing finally heard the sound of rushing water not far away. Overjoyed, she quickly carried the person on her back and staggered to find water. After passing through dense weeds, she finally saw a small stream. The water flowed down from the mountain stream above, which explained the loud sound of the rushing water.
Xingxing crouched down and carefully lowered the person on her back. After the person lay down, she walked to the stream and scooped up some water to drink. The spring water was very clean and clear, but she still carefully observed it for a while to make sure there were no insects or insect eggs in the water before she dared to drink it.
After drinking it herself, she got up and picked some banana leaves from a nearby place to fill with water for Zhu Lin. Since unconscious people don't open their mouths to eat or drink, Xingxing had to pry open his mouth to feed him each time.
This time was no exception. Xingxing held a banana leaf filled with water in one hand and skillfully pinched someone's jawbone with the other, preparing to feed him water.
She didn't notice that the person who had been unconscious was now trembling with eyelashes and eyelids, and then slowly opening their eyes.
But the person feeding the water was so engrossed in feeding it that they didn't notice the change at all. It wasn't until they realized that the water wouldn't go in and kept dribbling from the corners of the mouth that they became anxious. "Why won't you drink? Don't you even know how to drink water anymore?"
"Cough, stop feeding me..." the boy said in a hoarse voice.
"Aren't you thirsty?" Xingxing asked, then suddenly startled. The banana leaf she was holding, filled with water, fell onto the boy's chest, wetting a patch of his shirt.
"Brother Phosphorus, you're awake! You're really awake?" Xingxing brought her face close to the boy's, using her little hands to pry open his face and eyes.
"What's wrong with my face again?" the boy asked in a hoarse voice.
"Let me make sure you're really awake. I thought I was dreaming. How could you be unconscious for so long? I was so worried about you. You didn't wake up for more than twenty days. I thought..." Xingxing cried loudly, her tears quickly soaking his clothes.
"Don't cry, I'm awake now, aren't I?" The boy struggled to sit up, but found that he couldn't muster any strength at all. He was shocked. How could this be?
He tried to circulate his internal energy, only to find that he had no internal energy at all. He felt a chill in his heart again. Could it be that he had lost all his martial arts skills after all this?
"Water, I want some water," the boy said weakly.
Xingxing sniffled and looked up, her face covered in tears, her eyes red and misty, and said in a sobbing voice, "Brother Lin, do you want some water? I'll go get you some."
So she picked up the banana leaves again, wrapped them around water, and fed it to him. After the boy finished drinking a handful, she went to wrap more water, but the boy stopped her.
"That's enough, I don't want to drink anymore," the boy said, drinking water to soothe his throat and immediately feeling much better.
"Gurgle, gurgle." Suddenly, someone's stomach started rumbling.
Xingxing patted her empty stomach and said aggrievedly, "These days I've been eating wild vegetables and wild fruits every day. I'm starving. All the small prey on the mountain have gone to avoid disaster. There are no small prey on this mountain, not even a bird in sight."
Zhu Lin felt a pang of heartache seeing the little girl's pitiful appearance. He reached into his brocade pouch, pulled out a piece of roasted meat, and handed it to Xingxing. "It's still warm, eat it quickly."
Xingxing took the roasted meat, blinked her eyes, and whispered, "Brother Lin, do you have any way to enter the space now? If you can, why don't you take me with you? It's too dangerous outside. There are female Japanese pirates there too. Your body hasn't recovered yet, and I can't beat her. Let's hide first."
