The emperor did not inform the court officials or the empress about the incident involving the eldest princess. Only he and Zhu Chumo knew about it in the palace. Zhu Chumo was skilled in medicine and fortune-telling, and the emperor trusted him more and more as they spent more time together.
"Should I send more secret guards to find the princess?" Three of the secret guards who had accompanied the princess out of the capital were lost during the sea earthquake, but the rest were all rescued safely.
The survival rate was quite high. The emperor thought of the princess's lucky constitution and felt that it was unreasonable for the secret guards to survive while the princess could not. It didn't make sense, and even Heaven would not agree.
Those in the shadows were speechless.
"We're searching at sea, not inland. Are all your bodyguards good swimmers?" Zhu Chumo asked casually, lifting his eyelids slightly.
The secret guards grew up in the north and were all landlubbers, basically unable to swim. Even those secret guards who left the capital with Xingxing only learned to swim in Anyang Prefecture.
"Since you can tell fortunes, can't you figure out which island the princess and her companions landed on at sea, and give the search party some pointers on which way to look?"
The emperor paced back and forth with his hands behind his back. Under Zhu Chumo's care over the past six months, his body had gradually become stronger, his mind was no longer muddled, and he could think things through calmly and rationally.
"I can only tell fortunes, I'm not a god. If I were a god, wouldn't it be easier to just fly to the sea and bring the person back? Your Majesty, you should sit down and rest, instead of pacing back and forth." Zhu Chumo replied calmly and unhurriedly.
"You grew up on an island, yet all you do is talk the talk. I really overestimated you." The emperor left in a huff, but stopped abruptly at the door. This was his palace; why should he leave?
The emperor returned with a grim expression, angrily shooing the man away, "Get out, get out, don't get in my way."
"It is already difficult enough to predict good or bad fortune, Your Majesty, please do not make things difficult for me," Zhu Chumo said as he rose leisurely. "Since Your Majesty does not like me, I will take my leave."
On a certain island, Xingxing was devouring half a roasted rabbit when she suddenly heard someone throw a dart next to her, followed by a muffled groan from the bushes not far away.
"Who?" Xingxing threw down the bone and stared intently at that spot with her big eyes.
The trees and weeds rustled, and soon a figure jumped out. Looking at the ragged woman in front of her, Xingxing asked in surprise, "Hengshan, why are you showing up again? Didn't you leave?"
Chiyo Yokoyama tightened her grip on her sword. She glanced at Zhu Lin, but seeing that the boy wasn't looking at her, she looked away and said to Xingxing, "I've been wandering around this island and haven't found the exit. I'm lost. I don't know how I ended up here, and then I found you."
Seeing that her expression didn't seem fake, Xingxing's anger subsided slightly, but she still said loudly, "Then you'd better leave right now, or don't blame us for being impolite."
"After the earthquake, the terrain of this island became very strange. It's like being trapped in a maze, and you can't find your way out no matter what you do. You go around and around and end up back where you started. You two are still here, so you probably haven't found the exit either. Why don't the three of us work together, put aside our previous grudges, and talk about other things after we're out of danger?"
Seeing that the boy's kung fu had recovered, Yokoyama was very wary of him. If she hadn't had no other choice, she wouldn't have forced herself to ask for cooperation.
"Dream on. What does it matter to us if you can't get out? We have our own ways of leaving, we don't need to take you with us." Xingxing looked wary; this Japanese pirate was completely untrustworthy.
Who is Zhu Lin? He is the young master of Xianwu Island. He has lived on the island since birth. The terrain of Xianwu Island is more complex and mysterious than any other island. After the earthquake, the island has indeed formed a natural formation, making it not easy to get out.
But this was no problem for Zhu Lin; he could easily walk out. However, in addition to the change in terrain, there was another problem on the island: after the earthquake, the island they were on, which had been separated, seemed to have been moved to the side of another island.
The two islands are now tightly bound together into one island. Both islands are quite large, or rather, the other island is a very large island, so even after traveling with Xingxing for more than ten days, he still couldn't get out.
Annoyed by Yokoyama Chiyo's continued rambling, Zhu Lin stood up and coldly looked at her, saying, "If you don't want to die, be sensible and stay far away from us, otherwise don't blame me for being merciless with my sword."
If it weren't for the fact that the other person was a woman, and that she was injured and in a sorry state, he could have killed her with a single sword strike.
The island was too big, and there was no one else around. He was afraid that if Xingxing stayed on the mountain for too long, she would never meet anyone and would feel lonely and panicked. So he decided to keep Hengshan alive for the time being, at least so that he would have someone else to argue with.
"Don't make a move. I won't come near you. I'll keep my distance. There are only three of us on this island. If we travel together, at least we can talk. One person will go crazy, and two people won't be much better." This was Yokoyama's true feeling. She hadn't encountered anyone for a while and was really going crazy.
No one talked to her, and she had to bear all the noise around her alone. The excessive loneliness was terrifying.
"Don't let us see you." Zhu Lin threw out these words and then ignored the other person, leaving with Xingxing in her hand.
Yokoyama envied them for having two people and being able to talk to each other often, while she only had herself and the sword in her hand. She stood obediently in place and did not move until she could no longer see the two people in front of her before taking a step to follow.
The three of them continued their journey one after the other. Half a month later, they suddenly heard the sound of waves crashing against the rocks, and they could also vaguely hear voices.
"We're out! We're finally out! That's great!" Xingxing happily hugged the boy, who smiled and reached out to embrace her.
