Chapter 75 Zhao Guihua Teaches Xingxing

I don't want to see the old folks coming to our house every day to cause trouble, encouraged by Zhou Laosan and Zhou Laosi. So the medicine still has to be sent; my second brother can't get into trouble.

Xingxing overheard the conversation and finally understood what had happened at the Zhou family's house while she was napping. She blinked and asked, "Did Second Uncle almost get beaten to death by Old Man Zhou? If Second Uncle dies because he can't afford medical treatment, will he be carried up the mountain to be buried? Will his father have to pay for Second Uncle's life?"

Zhou Laoda and Zhao Guihua: "..."

"Your second uncle isn't dead yet, no, he's still alive, so nothing's wrong with him." A father can beat his son for nothing.

After finishing her sentence, Zhao Guihua began to reason with her, "Girl, you must never say such unlucky things as 'death' or 'burial' casually in the future. People will think you are deliberately cursing them, and they might fight you to the death."

"Don't be afraid, my second and fourth brothers will protect me." Xingxing looked innocent and naive, seemingly unaware of the seriousness of the situation.

Zhao Guihua glared at Erfu and Sifu, thinking to herself, "Just you wait, those two brats will get what's coming to them."

Zhou Erfu and Zhou Sifu felt innocent. What was wrong with them being strong? Wasn't it something to be happy about to protect their younger sister? Why was their mother angry?

She took a deep breath and said softly, "It's not a question of whether we can win or not. It's that what you just said was impolite and could easily offend people. It's like someone deliberately saying you're ugly, or that you choke when you drink water."

Xingxing tilted her head and thought for a moment, then nodded with a stern face. "Who is so blind as to say I'm ugly and even curse me to choke on my water? What a big bad guy."

Zhao Guihua: She was just using an analogy, but why does my daughter's words sound like she's scolding her?

She started it all, well, my daughter just said it in the heat of the moment and didn't mean anything by it.

Then Zhao Guihua launched into a long explanation of her reasoning.

"Okay, I know I was wrong. I won't say things like 'death' or 'burial' anymore. I didn't mean to curse Uncle. I'm just a little worried. If something happens to Uncle, then Daya and Dafa will be in even worse shape."

They're starving, so they'll catch small animals to eat. I'm really worried that when our ducks go to play in the stream, Daya and her brother will get so hungry that they'll catch them and eat them raw.

Xingxing frowned, her chubby little face scrunched up, looking genuinely distressed. "I have to go to school in town again, and I won't have time to look after the ducks every day. It's so worrying."

"What are you thinking? They won't randomly catch other people's chickens and ducks. Daya and Dafeng are timid, but not bad-natured. Besides catching loaches in the stream and eels in the paddy fields, they've never taken anything from other people's homes. They're quite clean-cut," Zhao Guihua explained.

Xingxing smiled and scratched her head sheepishly. "That's because Xingxing misunderstood them. Sigh, if only Second Uncle could be as capable as Second Brother, Daya and Dafa wouldn't be so pitiful."

Luckily, Xingxing wasn't her second uncle's child, otherwise she would have been in real trouble. If she had helped find a wild boar at Old Zhou's house, she probably would have only ended up eating pig manure. Just thinking about it is terrifying.

When everyone saw Xingxing suddenly shiver, they all gathered around to ask what was wrong. Xingxing smiled and said it was nothing; she needed to go to the outhouse because she hadn't relieved herself after her afternoon nap.
