Wu Dazhu was a simpleton. When he heard that he was going to get married, he was so happy that he couldn't sleep all night.
Madam Wu was considered honest and virtuous, but she didn't hold any real power in the Wu family. The one in charge was Aunt Zhao, who became unhappy when she heard Wu Dazhu's loud voice.
"That beast, he's so happy to have married a second-hand woman. You two go and drag him out. I want to teach him a lesson. It's good that the master isn't home right now."
The two maids frowned: "Madam, what if the master finds out? Won't that cause trouble?"
"You brat, who calls the shots in this house? How dare you lecture your old woman like this? Get back here right now!"
The two maids exchanged a glance before timidly leaving.
Not long after, Wu Dazhu was caught and taken to Aunt Zhao's room.
Wu Dazhu asked with a worried expression, "Auntie, what... what are you doing?"
Aunt Zhao, dressed in a rather stingy long dress, abandoned her usual gentleness and virtuousness and slapped him across the face, making a loud sound: "You good-for-nothing, do you really think you married a wife? Let me tell you, that Jin Daya was my maid from the moment she entered the house, and you and your mother are my servants!"
Wu Dazhu covered his face and stammered, "No, you're not like this. Why did you become like this? My father said he would find me a wife, and that means he's going to find me a wife. Why are you doing this to me?"
Aunt Zhao snorted coldly: "I've disliked that bitch of yours for a long time. You're still stammering here. If I could give birth to a son, do you think you would still be in this family?"
When Manager Wu is not at home, Aunt Zhao is in charge. Normally, when Manager Wu is at home, Aunt Zhao is gentle and virtuous. However, this time when Manager Wu went out on business for half a month, Aunt Zhao acted strangely and even wanted to grab Assistant Wu and beat him up.
Upon learning this news, Madam Wu hurried to Aunt Zhao's room.
Aunt Zhao looked at Madam Wu with her eyes: "What, do you think you have a lot of influence or something? Are you coming here to show off to me?"
"You, the master isn't home, so you don't know your place? Why did you hit our assistant?"
"Don't even mention hitting your son, even if I hit you, so what?"
Wu Dazhu clenched his fists tightly, wishing he could crush Aunt Zhao into pieces. He said, word by word, "You dare to hit my mother? Don't think I'm afraid of you, or that I can't beat you, you shrew. Don't think I didn't see what happened between you and Steward Liu. Don't think I don't know who the bastard you're carrying is."
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
As she spoke, Aunt Zhao slapped Wu Dazhu across the face, and Wu Dazhu grabbed a stick and struck Aunt Zhao with it.
Outside the gate, Liang Shuyan led Jin Daya and her entourage to the entrance of the Wu residence. The servant at the gate was delighted to see Lady Cha and welcomed them in.
As soon as Liang Shuyan entered, she saw this scene. Jin Daya was standing next to Dazhu, and the two were talking with their heads down, the atmosphere somewhat awkward.
Liang Shuyan was startled. She had long heard of Aunt Zhao's infamous reputation, and seeing her today, she could confirm it was indeed true. Aunt Zhao was dressed in fine clothes, her face was covered in thick makeup, a cold smile played on her lips, and her eyes revealed a viciousness.
Jin Daya had met Dazhu a few times before and was fairly satisfied with him. Apart from being a little simple-minded, Dazhu was a kind-hearted person. But seeing Dazhu with Aunt Zhao today, her heart skipped a beat.
"Dazhu, is this the heartless Aunt Zhao you were talking about?" Jin Daya couldn't help but ask.
Dazhu stood on Jin Daya's side and nodded: "Now that my dad's not here, they're going to bully me and my mom?"
Liang Shuyan roughly understood that there was indeed such a concubine in the Wu residence. Liang Shuyan's eyes turned to Jin Daya.
A resolute light flashed in Jin Daya's eyes. She straightened her back, instantly becoming incredibly powerful. She raised her head, scanning the surrounding crowd, a cold smile playing on her lips. She knew this woman was testing her limits; she wouldn't allow anyone to bully her man and mother-in-law.
In the crowd, the woman glanced sideways at Jin Daya, a defiant smile playing on her lips. She wore magnificent clothes and a gold hairpin, exuding an air of superiority. Her arrogant posture seemed to be a challenge to Jin Daya.
Jin Daya instantly erupted. She lunged at the woman, grabbed her collar, and glared at her fiercely. Her voice was deep and powerful: "Don't think that just because you're rich and powerful you can bully people. Let me tell you, my husband and mother-in-law are not people you can mess with."
Aunt Zhao's face immediately changed, and she said with a stern expression, "What do you outsiders want? Let me tell you, in our Wu family, it's up to me, your concubine, to call the shots."
Liang Shuyan snorted coldly: "What? A concubine? Everyone knows that the Wu family has a virtuous Madam Wu. Who is this concubine? Is she Madam Wu's maid?"
Aunt Zhao was trembling with anger. She never expected that this woman, who usually seemed so timid, would dare to speak to her like that.
"You, how dare you speak to me like that?" Aunt Zhao's face turned pale with anger.
"Why wouldn't I dare? Who do you think you are to the Wu family? You're just a concubine, yet you dare to boast that the Wu family belongs to you? What a joke!" Liang Shuyan said disdainfully.
"Who do you think you are?"
Aunt Zhao's rudeness towards Liang Shuyan infuriated Jin Daya, who was standing to the side. She put her hands on her hips and angrily rebuked, "You ignorant fool! Do you want to die? Don't you dare implicate the entire Wu family! My sister-in-law is a Tea Lady personally appointed by the Emperor. If your humiliation of the Tea Lady reaches the Emperor's ears, your whole family will be executed. What are you planning to do then, implicating the rest of the Wu family?"
Jin Daya's angry rebuke made Aunt Zhao's face turn pale instantly. She never expected that her casual remark would cause such serious consequences. She looked at Jin Daya with fear in her eyes, her hands trembling, and she almost knelt down.
Liang Shuyan looked at Jin Daya calmly, a slight smile playing on her lips, as if she had expected this outcome. She knew that her identity was not something anyone could easily touch, especially someone from a humble family like her.
Seeing her mother so frightened, Aunt Zhao's daughter quickly came over to support her and said to Jin Daya, "Miss Jin, my mother didn't mean it, she just..."
