Chapter 243 Bitten by a Wolf

Wang the Cripple was somewhat flattered. He blinked and said to Liang Shuyan, "Madam, this humble man greets you!"

Just as Wang the Cripple finished speaking, he was about to kneel down to pay his respects, but Liang Shuyan stopped him.

"Don't be like that. If you keep being so polite, how can we do business together?" Liang Shuyan asked with a smile.

Wang the Cripple then refrained from kneeling down to pay his respects. He looked at Liang Shuyan with a complex expression, his heart filled with emotion.

He was just an ordinary street vendor who became lame in an accident and was ridiculed by the world as "Wang the Cripple" ever since.

He felt incredibly honored and moved that this noble and beautiful woman was speaking to him so kindly.

Liang Shuyan gave a brief explanation, made the arrangements, and then left.

Su Qiaoqiao is now the top salesperson at the teahouse, and she dresses up beautifully every day. Mr. Su and their two children are also living a good life.

But then, Su Qiaoqiao's husband, Li Laosan, came knocking on her door. As soon as he entered the village, he declared arrogantly, "Su Qiaoqiao, my mother is dead, and I'm taking my child back!"

Su Qiaoqiao was introducing tea to a customer when she heard these words, which struck her like a bolt from the blue.

She looked up in alarm, only to see Li Laosan standing there arrogantly, followed by several burly men.

Su Qiaoqiao stood up tremblingly. She didn't want to let go of her two children, but she knew she couldn't let them be taken away by Li Laosan.

The scene shifts to a group of people gathered at the entrance of a teahouse. Li Laosan and Su Qiaoqiao are sitting face to face, with two children between them.

Su Qiaoqiao felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She stood up tremblingly, her face pale, but her eyes revealed a firm determination.

She held her two children's hands tightly; she couldn't let go, for they were her only source of support.

Li Laosan looked at Su Qiaoqiao with an arrogant air, a cold smile playing on his lips, as if everything was under his control.

Several burly men behind him laughed loudly, surrounding Su Qiaoqiao and the children.

Su Qiaoqiao's body trembled, her palms were sweating, but she knew she couldn't back down.

She stood tall and looked directly into Li Laosan's eyes, her voice firm and powerful: "Li Laosan, if you want to take the child away, you'll have to step over my dead body!"

Upon hearing the news, Mr. Su stormed over, brandishing a stick, shouting, "You beast! We made it perfectly clear during the divorce that you didn't want the child. Now you're trying to take the child away? No way!"

Li Laosan laughed heartily: "What? You won't let me take the child? Then I'll stay. Qiaoqiao is a top salesperson at the teahouse now, she has no worries about food or clothing, so I'll stay and take care of the child!"

Su Qiaoqiao never expected that this man would harass her again, and her peaceful life was about to be disrupted by him.

Mr. Su raised the wooden stick in his hand and was about to go forward to hit Li Laosan, but was pulled back by Liang Shuyan behind him.

Then a clear, melodious voice rang out: "I want to see what face a divorced person has to stay in our Daling Village. What, is there really no one left in Daling Village to stand by and watch you harm Su Qiaoqiao?"

Liang Shuyan stepped forward. She was dressed in brocade clothes, wore a gold hairpin, and was as beautiful as a flower. Her eyes and brows exuded majesty.

She glanced around, clapped her hands, and gathered the villagers together.

"Men of Daling Village, listen to me! Mr. Su is our school teacher, and Su Qiaoqiao is his daughter. Now, grab your weapons and drive this scoundrel out of Daling Village! Beat him to death if you can't kill him!"

Liang Shuyan is now the Tea Lady personally appointed by the Emperor. With her orders, who would dare not move?

A group of men grabbed their belongings and pounced on Li Laosan.

Seeing this, Li Laosan took off running. He was panting heavily when Li Zheng called out to stop him, just as the leader was about to catch up.

"Forget it, just scare him a little. I'm sure he won't dare to come back again!"

Li Laosan ran away just like that, but Liang Shuyan was pondering a question: "This Li Laosan will definitely come back. If only our Daling Village had patrolmen!"

Li Zheng was also thinking about this problem: "Madam, how about this, we select a few strong men from the village and form a security team to prevent people from other villages from causing trouble in our village!"

Li Zheng's idea coincided with hers. Liang Shuyan nodded: "It's not a difficult thing. I'll have Erniu find a few people from the martial arts school right now. The village is short-handed, and everyone is busy with their own work, so they don't have time to guard the place all the time."

After considering it for a moment, Li Zheng said, "We don't need to waste the daytime. We can take turns on duty at night. It's fine, but the training will probably have to be left to Er Niu. Let Er Niu find a few skilled people and train them."

That night, several strong men selected from the village were taken to the martial arts school, where Erniu led a few skilled young men in training on the school's training ground.

Their movements were powerful and precise, and their steps were steady.

Meanwhile, a group of women and children watched from the sidelines, cheering them on from time to time.

As darkness fell, Li Laosan was utterly exhausted, and his stomach was growling incessantly. He was starving and had no choice but to return home. The house was empty, and in addition, he had smashed all the pots and pans in a fit of anger a few days earlier. Now, even if he had rice and flour, there was nowhere to cook.

"Right, those people must have already gone back. Why don't I turn back and go straight to Old Man Su's house to find that bitch, or just take the child away and see what Su Qiaoqiao can do?"

He immediately turned and walked towards Daling Village. There was no one at the village entrance, and he didn't see anyone. He followed the wheat field directly to the Su family's courtyard.

The voices of two children playing could be heard from the yard: "Grandpa, Grandpa, teach us how to beat up bad guys?"

"Bad people? Where are the bad people?"

"That bad guy who tried to arrest my mother during the day, that big scoundrel!"

Li Laosan clenched his fists in anger: "So, Su Qiaoqiao, you actually instigated the child to curse me like that?"

Just as he was about to kick open the gate of the Su family's courtyard and rush in, three wolves appeared out of nowhere and dragged Li Laosan to the ground.

Terrified, Li Laosan screamed, "Help! There's a wolf! There's a wolf!"

Hearing the commotion, Mr. Su came out with his two grandsons. Seeing the scene before him, he couldn't help but burst into laughter: "So it was the wolfhound that Aunt Dashan released! Good, Dahei, give this big bad guy a good bite!"

Liang Shuyan stood to the side and waved her hand, and Dahei finally relented.

"You, you actually dared to let the wolves bite me?"
