Chapter 334 Madam Wu, who lives in the backyard

Jin Daya stared at Aunt Zhao in front of her, then looked at Liang Shuyan, and stammered, "Madam, that's not what I meant. I just wanted to call Dazhu over to discuss the marriage of the two children."

"Marriage? When did you get this idea, Aunt? As far as I know, Manager Wu has already handed these matters over to Madam Wu. We are here today to discuss the marriage of the two children with Madam Wu."

Liang Shuyan's words made Aunt Zhao stammer for a long time. After a moment of silence, she said, "Fine, since you've come to see Madam, then let Madam receive you. I'll take my leave."

Madam Wu looked at Liang Shuyan gratefully: "Thank you, Madam. If it weren't for you, I don't know what would have happened to my son and me."

Looking at Madam Wu, Liang Shuyan couldn't help but feel a surge of pity. She recalled what she had heard about Aunt Zhao before. Although that woman came from a wealthy family, she was domineering and arrogant in the mansion because of her husband's favoritism, and even Manager Wu was completely infatuated with her.

Liang Shuyan held Madam Wu's hand tightly, as if trying to find some comfort in her trembling fingertips. "What is Manager Wu's attitude towards this matter?" she asked softly.

Madam Wu sighed, a hint of helplessness flashing in her eyes. "You don't know, our master just listens to Aunt Zhao. He won't listen to anything I or Da Zhu say, but he believes Aunt Zhao with just a few words."

"That's right, I'm used to this. As for what happened next, I was just worried about my husband's marriage. Now that the marriage has been arranged, I'm relieved. Whether he lives or dies doesn't matter anymore."

Women in ancient times were so humble. Men with a little money would be picky about women. I never expected that the seemingly honest and simple shopkeeper Wu would do such a thing.

Liang Shuyan couldn't help but feel very sorry for the woman in front of her. She hesitated for a moment and said, "Don't worry, leave this to me. I will find a way to change Manager Wu's opinion of you."

Madam Wu shook her head: "No need. I know my husband's condition very well. I only hope that he can live a good life in his later years, that Dazhu can live a good life, and that his illness can be cured."

Liang Shuyan didn't say anything more, but Jin Daya hesitated for a moment and said, "Don't worry, once I'm married into the family, I want to see if that concubine still dares to bully us."

Jin Daya is rude and has a volatile temper. She'll start hitting people if things don't go her way. If Liang Shuyan hadn't been there today, she probably would have been beaten up by Jin Daya. How arrogant would Aunt Zhao be then?

Liang Shuyan didn't speak again, only frowned slightly, her expression complex. She knew that although Jin Daya was straightforward, what she said wasn't without reason. Ever since Aunt Zhao appeared, the atmosphere in the house had become strange and uneasy, as if an undercurrent was surging.

Jin Daya stood to the side, hands on her hips, her face full of disdain. A fierce glint flashed in her eyes, as if to tell Aunt Zhao: Once I'm inside, you can forget about being arrogant anymore.

Looking at the scene before her, Liang Shuyan felt a mix of emotions. She knew that this home was no longer the same. And all these changes were because of that woman named Aunt Zhao.

Aunt Zhao stood to the side, her face pale and her lips trembling. She knew that her position in the Wu family was now precarious. She had originally thought that she could maintain her position with her beauty and cunning, but she hadn't expected to encounter such a formidable opponent as Jin Daya.

When Dazhu heard Jin Daya say this, he happily grabbed her hand and said, "Okay, wife, beat that bitch to death, let her bully people again. Before you came, she even had people beat me up."

“Dazhu, don’t act recklessly. In this family, we only ask for peace and comfort, not to cause trouble for no reason.”

Liang Shuyan smiled slightly: "Don't worry, our Daya isn't a troublemaker. She won't curse or hit anyone unless something happens."

After Liang Shuyan exchanged a few words with Madam Wu, she heard the butler's voice coming from the courtyard: "Master, Master is back. It seems we have a distinguished guest. He's talking to Madam in the backyard right now."

Upon hearing this, Liang Shuyan's face flashed with surprise. She stood up and said to Madam Wu, "I'll go take a look."

In the courtyard, the butler stood respectfully to one side. Liang Shuyan followed the butler's gaze and saw a man dressed in fine clothes chatting and laughing with Madam Wu. The man was handsome, had an extraordinary bearing, and exuded a noble air in every gesture.

"Master is back, Da Zhu, your father is back, go out and see."

Thinking of the abuse he suffered at the hands of his aunt, Wu Dazhu ran out as fast as he could: "Dad, you're finally back! My aunt had someone beat me just now. Luckily, luckily my wife is back."

As Old Master Wu listened to his son's words, a cold glint flashed in his eyes. Although his Wu family was not a particularly wealthy or powerful clan, they were still a prominent family in the town, and he would absolutely not tolerate anyone making trouble behind his back.

"What? Who dares to bully my son!" His eyes widened, his face full of disbelief.

Wu Dazhu, holding his father's hand, walked into the house while complaining, "It was my aunt! She had someone beat me up just now, but luckily my wife came back."

As soon as he finished speaking, a woman in a green cheongsam walked towards him with a polite smile: "Sir, you're back."

This was none other than Wu's concubine. Upon seeing her, Old Master Wu's face instantly darkened. How could his Wu family tolerate such bullying?

"What happened? Did you have someone beat up Daisuke?"

As soon as he finished speaking, soft footsteps echoed on the bluestone pavement, and a woman in a green cheongsam approached. Her face always wore a polite smile, gentle and warm like a spring breeze. She said softly, "Master, you're back."

Looking at the woman before him, Old Master Wu felt a surge of anger. This woman, the one everyone called Aunt, filled him with utter disgust at every move she made. Her smile, her gentleness, were like a sharp knife, piercing deep into his heart.

He glared at the woman, his eyes filled with anger and incomprehension. How could the Wu family be bullied like this? His son, his right-hand man, had been beaten by this woman—this was something he could not tolerate.

Manager Wu looked at Madam Wu and smiled slightly: "Madam, why don't you bring your wife to the front yard?"

Liang Shuyan's lips curled up: "The front yard? Doesn't Madam live in the front yard? What's going on? Manager Wu has a concubine living in the front yard, so the rightful Madam is living in the back yard?"
