He stared intently into Zhao Yuwei's eyes, noticing a strange glint in them.
Those are definitely not human eyes!
"You are not Zhao Yuwei!" Xiao Feng shouted sharply, while quickly taking a few steps back.
No sooner had she finished speaking than Zhao Yuwei suddenly let out a shrill laugh.
Her body began to twist and deform, and her skin melted like candle wax.
In the blink of an eye, that familiar figure turned into a wisp of white mist and vanished without a trace in the air.
Xiao Feng was still in shock, cold sweat sliding down his forehead.
This forbidden area was indeed full of traps; even the appearance of one's companions could be imitated.
He secretly rejoiced that he had seen through the scam in time; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
"Sima Yan, Zhao Yuwei, where are you?" Xiao Feng muttered to himself, his eyes scanning the eerie blood-red coral forest around him warily.
Over here, Zhao Yuwei cautiously made her way through the forbidden area, the surrounding blood-red coral forest exuding an eerie aura.
A sinister mist swirled around our feet, accompanied by occasional chilling whispers.
She looked around warily, fearing that some danger might suddenly strike.
At that moment, a shocking scene unfolded.
Xiao Feng and Sima Yan vanished without a trace in the blink of an eye!
"Xiao Feng! Sima Yan! Where are you?" Zhao Yuwei panicked and called out her companions' names urgently.
Her voice echoed in the silent forbidden area, but only brought howling wind and unsettling silence.
Just as Zhao Yuwei was extremely anxious, she suddenly turned around and found that Xiao Feng had appeared behind her at some point.
His figure seemed to blend into the surrounding shadows, giving him an ethereal and dreamlike appearance.
Zhao Yuwei couldn't help but gasp, but she managed to suppress her unease and quickly walked towards Xiao Feng.
"Xiao Feng, are you alright?" Zhao Yuwei asked cautiously.
She carefully examined Xiao Feng, fearing that he might have been injured.
At this moment, Xiao Feng's eyes revealed a gentleness, his gaze as soft as moonlight.
He slowly reached out and gently stroked Zhao Yuwei's face, his movements as tender as if he were handling a precious treasure.
"I'll take you away from here, and from now on we'll be together forever," Xiao Feng said softly, his voice carrying a hint of seduction.
His fingers gently traced Zhao Yuwei's cheek, causing her to shudder.
This sudden change in attitude set off alarm bells in Zhao Yuwei's mind. She subconsciously took a step back and stared warily at the "Xiao Feng" in front of her.
Xiao's eyes, which she knew so well, now seemed strange to her.
"Something's not right, something's really not right," Zhao Yuwei thought to herself. "Xiao Feng would never say something like that."
She swiftly drew her longsword, pointing the tip directly at Xiao Feng, and shouted sharply, "You are not the real person!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the "Xiao Feng" in front of him instantly turned into a cloud of white mist and disappeared.
Just as she breathed a sigh of relief, another figure of Xiao Feng appeared not far away.
Zhao Yuwei was startled and attacked the figure without thinking.
Upon seeing this, Xiao Feng hurriedly shouted, "Fake? You actually attacked me?"
As he spoke, he slapped Zhao Yuwei with his palm.
Zhao Yuwei was unable to dodge in time and was struck squarely in the chest by the palm.
She felt a tremendous force strike her, and her whole body flew backward like a kite with a broken string.
Zhao Yuwei felt as if her internal organs had shifted, and a trickle of blood spilled from the corner of her mouth.
She struggled to stand up, but found that her whole body ached terribly and she couldn't move for a moment.
Xiao Feng then realized that the person in front of him was really Zhao Yuwei, and a look of regret immediately appeared on his face.
He rushed over to help Zhao Yuwei up, his voice full of apology: "Yuwei, I thought you were fake, I'm sorry."
Zhao Yuwei was both angry and in pain. She shouted angrily, "You actually treated me like a fake!"
As Xiao Feng explained, he carefully examined Zhao Yuwei's injuries.
He was filled with remorse, cursing himself for being so reckless.
Zhao Yuwei, however, refused to listen to his explanation, her anger barely contained.
She felt both wronged and angry. Xiao Feng had disappeared first, yet now he was inexplicably attacking her.
Just as Xiao Feng and Zhao Yuwei were locked in a stalemate, a shrill scream suddenly rang out.
The sound echoed through the forbidden area.
"Ah—Help! Is anyone there? Please help me!"
The voice was none other than Sima Yan's.
Upon hearing the shout, Xiao Feng and Zhao Yuwei instantly forgot about their conflict.
Despite the pain, Zhao Yuwei stood up with Xiao Feng's help.
"Let's go, let's go take a look!" Xiao Feng said urgently.
Zhao Yuwei nodded, and the two quickly ran in the direction from which the sound came.
Xiao Feng and Zhao Yuwei passed through the blood-red coral forest and arrived at a strange altar.
Eight bronze pillars surround it, each engraved with patterns that vaguely reveal the image of the Eight Trigrams of Heaven and Earth.
A skull lantern floats atop the pillar, its eerie blue flames flickering in its hollow eye sockets, emitting a sinister glow.
In the center of the altar, Sima Yan was suspended in mid-air by eight blood-red chains.
The chain was entirely scarlet, with runes flowing across its surface, and its ends disappeared into the void.
Sima Yan's eyes were closed, and his fate was unknown.
"Sima Yan! Wake up!" Xiao Feng shouted loudly, his voice filled with anxiety.
But his words had no effect.
Zhao Yuwei also called out, "Sima Yan, can you hear me?"
However, no matter how they called out to him, Sima Yan remained unresponsive.
Xiao Feng and Zhao Yuwei exchanged a glance, both showing worry in their eyes.
"It seems we have no choice but to force our way to safety," Xiao Feng said in a low voice, his hand already on the hilt of his sword.
Zhao Yuwei nodded: "Be careful, this place is full of traps."
Just as the two were about to take action, a thick fog suddenly enveloped them.
Countless hideous faces seemed to be twisting and changing in the mist, emitting low roars.
As the fog gradually dissipated, Xiao Feng and Zhao Yuwei were astonished to find that another pair of "Xiao Feng" and "Zhao Yuwei" had appeared in front of them!
The two clones were exactly like them, even their clothes and expressions were identical.
"Who are you?" The two Xiao Fengs spoke at the same time, their voices overlapping, making it difficult to tell who was who.
Zhao Yuwei stared warily at the other "self," her hand already on the hilt of her sword.
She asked softly, "Xiao Feng, is it really you?"
"I really mean it!" both Xiao Fengs answered in unison.
Before the words were finished, the clone suddenly launched an attack.
The fake Xiao Feng slashed at the real Xiao Feng with his sword, while the fake Zhao Yuwei swung her palm at the real Zhao Yuwei's face.
The real Xiao Feng and Zhao Yuwei quickly retreated to avoid the attack, their original positions instantly disrupted.
The four men exchanged blows, their movements blurred amidst the flashing blades, making it difficult to distinguish the real from the fake.
"Zhao Yuwei, kill him! He's a fake!"
The two Xiao Fengs shouted at the same time, their voices overlapping.
