Although he wanted to help Wu Wu, he was blind, and taking Wu Wu away rashly might not be a good thing.
He pondered for a moment, then slowly said, "Gentlemen, I understand your feelings. But I am blind now, and taking Wuwu away might bring her greater danger. Why don't we find out the reason for the sea god's anger first, and then make a plan?"
Wu Wu's parents were taken aback when they heard this, and then nodded in agreement.
Xiao Feng turned to them and asked, "Gentlemen, could you explain in detail what this Sea God is all about?"
Wu Wu's father sighed and began to explain.
“My benefactor, you may not know this, but our village is near the river, and we have made our living by fishing for generations. In the past, the weather was good and the sea god blessed us, and we lived a relatively peaceful life. But recently, for some reason, the sea god suddenly became angry, and the tide has been rising, and it looks like it will flood our village.”
Wuwu's mother continued, "The village elders said that only by sacrificing young boys and girls could they appease the sea god's anger. So... so they..."
At this point, she couldn't continue and burst into tears, hugging Wuwu.
Xiao Feng frowned after hearing this.
He thought to himself that the sea god was angry and the tide was rising.
There's probably more to this story than meets the eye.
Wuwu's mother held her daughter and wept bitterly, tears streaming down her face like a broken string of pearls.
She choked back tears as she said, "Those rituals were so unfair! Why did they choose our child? They just thought we were weak and vulnerable and easy to bully!"
Wu Wu's father clenched his fists and said through gritted teeth, "That's right! They're just using the name of the Sea God to pursue their own selfish desires. Which child from those powerful and influential families has ever been chosen?"
Upon hearing this, Xiao Feng frowned and a disdainful sneer appeared on his lips.
He thought to himself, "Ha, using the name of the gods to oppress the people, this trick is really old-fashioned."
He pondered for a moment, then said, "You two need not worry too much. This so-called anger of the sea god is probably for another reason. I plan to go to the seaside to investigate; perhaps I can find out the truth."
As soon as she finished speaking, Wuwu suddenly broke free from her mother's arms, her little face full of determination.
She exclaimed, "Brother Xiao, I can take you to the beach! I know that place very well, I'll definitely be of help!"
Xiao Feng looked at Wu Wu with some surprise, and couldn't help but feel a bit of admiration for this little girl.
He smiled and nodded, saying, "Okay, then I'll trouble Wu Wu."
Upon hearing this, Wu Wu's parents immediately showed hesitation on their faces.
Finally, Wu Wu's father took a deep breath and solemnly said, "Our benefactor, we entrust Wu Wu to you. Please take good care of her."
Wu Wu's mother wiped away her tears, suppressing her reluctance, and said to Xiao Feng, "My benefactor, we believe you can find the cause and save our whole village."
Xiao Feng nodded solemnly and said, "Rest assured, both of you, I will definitely protect Wu Wu and do my best to find out the truth."
After saying that, he turned to Wuwu and said softly, "Wuwu, let's set off now."
Wu Wu nodded excitedly, took Xiao Feng's hand, and led him towards the door.
The moment Xiao Feng stepped out of his house, he felt the salty, damp sea breeze.
Wu Wu, holding Xiao Feng's hand, skipped and hopped towards the seaside.
The little guy chattered incessantly the whole way, sometimes pointing at the flowers, plants and trees by the roadside, and sometimes giggling at the seabirds flying overhead.
"Brother, look at that flower, it's so pretty!"
"Brother, that seagull is flying so high!"
"Brother, do you think there are mermaids in the sea?"
Xiao Feng was a little overwhelmed by Wu Wu's questions, but looking at the little guy's innocent and carefree appearance, he couldn't help but feel a surge of affection in his heart.
He shook his head helplessly, a smile playing on his lips: "Wuwu, can you shut up for a bit? Your brother is taking you to see the sea, not on a picnic."
Wu Wu stuck out her tongue and made a face: "I know, Brother Xiao Feng is such an old-fashioned guy!"
The two chatted and laughed, and soon arrived at the beach.
Just as Xiao Feng was about to ask about Wu Wu's situation, he suddenly felt a chilling aura rush towards him.
Xiao Feng instantly became alert. He focused his attention and observed carefully, discovering that the demonic aura was a strange dark purple color, spreading slowly like poisonous mist.
The demonic aura seemed to be mixed with faint dragon roars, barely audible yet sending chills down one's spine.
Just then, the sky suddenly turned gloomy.
Dark clouds covered the sky, obscuring the sun, as if some enormous creature was rolling in the clouds.
A purplish-black mist rose from the sea, coiling around everything like a giant python.
Xiao Feng sensed all this and knew something was wrong.
He couldn't see it, but he knew his situation was terrible.
Just then, Xiao Feng vaguely saw some blurry lights and shadows.
Although he couldn't see the specific shapes, he could sense the powerful demonic energy contained within those lights and shadows.
A terrible thought flashed through my mind.
A demonic dragon was hiding in the sea!
Xiao Feng's mind raced as he recalled the legends about the demonic dragon.
Legend has it that the demonic dragon enjoys devouring children in order to enhance its power.
I see.
The villagers regarded the demonic dragon as a sea god, and in order to avoid suffering themselves, they began to continuously sacrifice children.
Little did they know that the sacrifice was ineffective, and sooner or later, the dragon would devour everyone in the village.
"It seems there's only one way to solve the village's hidden dangers."
Xiao Feng gritted his teeth, "We must get rid of this demonic dragon!"
Xiao Feng walked to the seaside, and a thought struck him.
He remembered that the dragon soul and dragon energy were sealed within him, and perhaps he could use this to lure the demonic dragon out.
"Since you enjoy absorbing dragon energy, then come and try mine!"
Xiao Feng sneered inwardly.
He closed his eyes and began to mobilize the dragon soul and dragon energy within his body.
Suddenly, a surge of violent energy coursed through his body.
Xiao Feng felt his whole body burning up, and fine scales appeared on his skin, emitting a faint golden light.
His eyes also turned into golden vertical pupils, exuding a sharp and imposing aura.
As Xiao Feng released his dragon energy.
The sea breeze suddenly stopped, the leaves ceased to sway, and even the waves remained still.
The whole world seemed to hold its breath, waiting for something terrible to happen.
Sure enough, the sea began to boil.
At first it was just a slight ripple, but it quickly turned into violent churning.
Huge columns of water shot into the sky, like giant dragons dancing wildly.
The seawater had turned an eerie purplish-black and emitted a foul, fishy odor.
Thick steam rose up, obscuring the sky.
A deafening rumbling sound came from the seabed.
The waves crashed against the rocks, making a piercing shriek.
Xiao Feng stood by the sea, his gaze piercing.
He knew that he had already lured out the demonic dragon.
"Come on, let me see just how good you really are!"
