Chapter 789 The Power of Divine Fire

Xiao Feng was startled, feeling a powerful sense of oppression wash over him.

Just then, the cult leader suddenly opened his eyes, which flashed with an eerie red light.

The red light was like a burning flame, filled with violence and murderous intent.

His pupils shrank to tiny dots, like a wild beast poised to pounce.

Without saying a word, the leader struck out with a palm towards Xiao Feng.

This palm strike carried immense power, and a piercing whistling sound filled the air.

The screen in the room shattered instantly under the power of this palm strike, and wood chips scattered like a rainstorm.

A powerful gust of air swept in, overturning the surrounding tables and chairs, which slammed against the walls with a series of muffled thuds.

Xiao Feng was startled and dodged swiftly like a ghost.

His movements were as nimble as a monkey's, maneuvering left and right in the confined space, narrowly avoiding the cult leader's attacks.

Xiao Feng could feel the scorching heat as the palm strike brushed past him, and his heart pounded wildly.

"That was close! The sect leader's strength is indeed unfathomable. If that palm strike had landed, I would have died on the spot!"

Xiao Feng thought to himself, while shouting loudly, "Master, wake up and look at me!"

However, the demon-possessed cult leader seemed to have lost his mind and couldn't listen to Xiao Feng's words at all.

His eyes were bloodshot, his face contorted in a ferocious grimace, and he continued his frenzied attack.

Each move carried a devastating force, and Xiao Feng could only barely parry, already sustaining injuries.

At this critical moment, Xiao Feng suddenly remembered the divine fire he had brought back earlier.

"That's right! Divine fire might be able to dispel the demonic energy on the sect leader!"

He quickly separated a bit of divine fire and flicked it lightly with his finger.

That spark of divine fire, like a shooting star, drew a graceful arc in the air and flew towards the cult leader's forehead.

The divine fire emitted a faint golden light, as if it carried some kind of sacred power.

The moment the divine fire touched the cult leader's forehead, his body trembled violently, as if struck by lightning.

He let out a painful roar and collapsed to his knees, clutching his head.

Xiao Feng held his breath, watching this scene with bated breath.

Gradually, the cult leader's eyes regained their clarity.

He blinked, and the ferocious expression on his face disappeared, replaced by confusion.

The cult leader looked around and saw the mess in the room, finally fixing his gaze on Xiao Feng.

"What...what's wrong with me?" the cult leader murmured to himself, his voice trembling slightly.

Seeing that the leader had regained consciousness, Xiao Feng immediately said, "Leader, you were possessed by demons just now."

Upon hearing this, the cult leader's face turned extremely ugly.

He looked down at his hands, as if they were stained with blood.

"This...this is all Wu Hai's doing." The leader said through gritted teeth, a trace of pain flashing in his eyes: "Now the Ming Cult is under his control, and he is trying to control the Immortal Sect."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Feng felt a chill run down his spine.

He stepped forward and solemnly said, "Master, Wu Hai is possessed by the Taotie. I have a way to get rid of the Taotie on him, please cooperate with me."

The cult leader raised his head, a glimmer of hope flashing in his eyes.

He took a deep breath and nodded firmly: "Okay, I will cooperate fully with you. I will make sure Wu Hai gets what he deserves!"

Seeing the leader's resolute expression, Xiao Feng secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

“Then, Master, let’s begin to formulate a plan now,” Xiao Feng said, his eyes gleaming with wisdom. “We must outsmart them, not attack them head-on.”

The cult leader nodded in agreement, and the two began to discuss in hushed tones.

The leader and Xiao Feng sat upright, discussing their strategy for dealing with Wu Hai.

The atmosphere in the room was heavy, and both of them had very serious expressions.

"Xiao Feng, what do you think we should do to deal with Wu Hai?" the sect leader asked in a deep voice, his eyes flashing with a sharp light.

Xiao Feng frowned and pondered for a moment before replying, "Master, Wu Hai is a cunning and treacherous man. We must proceed with extreme caution. Perhaps we should first send someone to secretly monitor his movements before making our move."

The cult leader nodded slightly, about to speak, when suddenly a series of hurried footsteps came from outside.

The footsteps grew louder and louder as they approached, as if a group of people were rushing towards them.

The cult leader's expression hardened, and a hint of wariness appeared on his dignified face.

He quickly stood up and whispered to Xiao Feng, "Xiao Feng, you leave first. I'll handle these guards."

As he spoke, the cult leader's eyes became sharp as knives, and his whole being exuded a chilling aura.

Although Xiao Feng was somewhat worried, he knew that it was not advisable to stay any longer.

He glanced at the cult leader, his eyes filled with trust in this powerful figure, while at the same time, a feeling of concern for Zhao Yuwei welled up in his heart.

He nodded slightly and turned to leave.

Just then, the guards pushed open the door and entered.

They were panting, their faces showing anxiety.

Before they could even speak, the sect leader glared angrily, his spiritual energy surging around him like a lion about to unleash its fury.

"How dare you trespass on my cultivation grounds!"

The cult leader roared, his voice filled with powerful spiritual energy: "Get out of here!"

This angry shout was like a thunderclap.

The guards were terrified by the cult leader's imposing presence. They all knelt down, trembling and apologizing, "Cult leader, spare our lives! We have important matters to report!"

The cult leader snorted coldly, and with a flick of his sleeve, powerful spiritual energy swept out like a whirlwind.

With a loud "boom," the guards were thrown out like scarecrows and crashed heavily onto the corridor.

The spiritual energy surged, and the entire room trembled slightly.

Taking advantage of the moment, Xiao Feng quickly slipped out of the room through the side door.

He moved with light steps and agile movements, like a nimble cat, disappearing silently around the corner of the corridor.

After leaving the cult leader's room, Xiao Feng quickened his pace.

As he hurried along, he wondered to himself, "Strange, why hasn't Zhao Yuwei returned yet?"

The more Xiao Feng thought about it, the more worried he became, and he unconsciously quickened his pace.

His brow furrowed, a multitude of possibilities swirling in his mind. "Has she encountered some trouble? Or has something delayed her?"

The thought that Zhao Yuwei might be in danger made Xiao Feng's heart tighten.

Meanwhile, in a quiet room of the clinic, Zhao Yuwei slowly opened her eyes.

The room was dimly lit, with only a few rays of sunlight filtering through the window cracks, casting dappled shadows on the floor.

She felt sore all over and her head was spinning, as if she had been beaten up badly.

Just then, a familiar voice came: "Long time no see, Miss Zhao."

Zhao Yuwei turned her head and saw Gan Feng standing by the bed with a smile on his face, his eyes gleaming with an unusual light.

His lips curled up slightly, revealing a smug smile, as if he were showing off his achievements.

Recalling the scene where she almost died at the hands of the men in black, Zhao Yuwei immediately realized that Gan Feng must have saved her.

Despite her discomfort, she managed to sit up and sincerely said, "Thank you so much, Brother Ganfeng, for saving my life."
