Chapter Six: The Cave

With this palace, Zhou Mu finally had a place to stand.

The so-called "settling down and establishing oneself" means that settling down has been resolved, and the next step is to establish oneself.

In comparison, this is more difficult.

After pondering for a long time, Zhou Mu turned his head to look at Ye Mujiu, who was fast asleep on his lap. His eyes reflected her peaceful sleeping face, and his lips curved slightly as his furrowed brows slowly relaxed.

Slightly rough palms covered the little girl's delicate face.

"Having you is my blessing."

He spoke softly.

My heart pounded violently a few times.

After settling the little girl onto the bed, he went outside the palace.

Looking out, several rolling green hills rise majestically, their peaks covered with lush, towering trees.

I was deeply shocked.

He turned his head.

At the summit of the green mountain, a black ancestral temple stands tall. A gentle breeze blows, causing the large banner on the temple to flutter, exuding an ancient and weathered aura, as if it has witnessed countless years.

Several mountain ranges meander and lie prostrate, like dragons lying in wait, respectfully bowing to the green mountain at his feet, displaying an air of supreme authority.

"This must be the dragon vein that the Imperial Advisor spoke of."

He murmured.

A gentle evening breeze stirred, slightly lifting the hem of my clothes.

It gave him the illusion of a peaceful and idyllic life.

He took a deep breath, finally pulling himself out of that anxious and uncertain state of mind.

Before I could do anything, I felt something warm and soft rushing towards me from behind.

He turned around and saw Ye Mujiu, who had just been resting in the hall. Perhaps she had just woken up, the little girl was still yawning with sleepy eyes.

The night was a bit chilly, so Zhou Mu took off his coat and draped it over the little girl. She pulled the coat tighter, lowered her head, and gently sniffed it. The familiar scent brought a serene smile to her face.

She looked up.

"Brother Mu."

The little girl's clear voice still carried a hint of childishness.

Zhou Mu kept his head down.

His eyes and brows were full of smiles.

Ye Mujiu said, "Brother Mu, my birthday is in a few days. Have you thought about what gift to give me?"

Zhou Mu grinned.

He pinched Ye Mujiu's fair and tender cheek.

"I'll give you whatever you like."

"What if I like the stars in the sky?" Ye Mujiu asked with a mischievous expression.

Clearly, this was a joke.

But Zhou Mu said with a very serious expression, "Then I will pick it for you."

Ye Mujiu was taken aback.

A glint of water flashed in her clear, large eyes.

Their gazes met in the air.

The collision sparked intense reactions.

The atmosphere became ambiguous for a moment.

The sunset glowed like fire, casting long shadows of the two of them.

After a long while, Ye Mujiu nodded slightly, a blush appearing on her beautiful face.

Zhou Mu's throat moved.

Everything seemed to fall into place naturally.

...

The next morning, Zhou Mu got up early.

Ye Mujiu, on the other hand, was exhausted after a night of tossing and turning and was still fast asleep.

The flush on her face had not completely faded.

After placing a kiss on his forehead, Zhou Mu got dressed and went outside.

He always felt there were things he hadn't done, but he just couldn't remember them.

After a night of indulgence, he finally remembered that he needed to get his hands on the Six-Child Upper-Level Diagram as soon as possible.

As the only spiritual artifact in the Desolate Heaven Domain that is close to the Saint level, the importance of the Six Sons Upper Armor Diagram is self-evident.

This is also an important reason why Yang Yun chose to rebel against Zhongzhou.

Thinking of this, Zhou Mu's eyes darkened.

About half an hour later, Zhou Mu arrived at a cave.

In the deep mountains, caves and similar structures are the most common.

On Qingyun Peak, where he was located, there were tens of thousands of caves of all sizes, densely packed together, which was enough to make one's scalp tingle.

Compared to other caves, the one in front of Zhou Mu was quite ordinary. Even the entrance was covered with cobwebs, indicating that no one had been inside for a long time.

If Zhou Mu hadn't already memorized this place, he would have doubted whether he had gone to the wrong place.

After a moment's thought, Zhou Mu strode in.

Compared to the entrance, the inside of the cave was much more enclosed. With the help of the dim light from outside, Zhou Mu could see the situation inside the cave.

On both sides are solid mountain walls.

There's nothing special about it.

Directly opposite him was an endless expanse of darkness, where even the sunlight filtering in from the cave entrance was instantly extinguished upon touching the darkness.

That place was like a forbidden zone.

Zhou Mu hesitated for a moment, then stepped inside.

In the dim light, there was a passageway.

After walking for about 15 minutes, suddenly some light appeared in front of them.

Zhou Mu's eyes narrowed.

A surge of joy filled my heart.

Could it be that we've reached the end?

A wisp of thin blue smoke drifted into the air, and because it was dark all around, the wisp of smoke was quite noticeable.

Beneath the wisps of smoke, a short incense stick was burning.

Clearly, the wisps of smoke were coming from the short incense stick.

Who would light a short incense stick here?

Zhou Mu was greatly surprised, but he dared not be negligent in the slightest and quickly stepped forward.

Before they even got close, a streak of light flashed by, and the short incense stick burned out instantly.

Something felt strangely eerie.

Just after the incense burned out, the surroundings lit up in a strange way.

Only then did Zhou Mu notice his surroundings.

The dazzling array of jewels was overwhelming, and even the air seemed to be filled with the scent of money.
