Chapter 126 Being Framed

Chapter 126 Being Framed

Baoya and Yun Chenglu stood at the door and listened to everything she said.

"Mom..." The little girl widened her eyes, looking incredulous, "What happened to Dad?!"

"Ah!" He Chunxiu was frightened when she heard Baoya's voice.

Looking up, she saw Baoya and Yun Chenglu standing at the east wing door. She raised her hand and wiped away her tears in panic: "It's okay, it's okay, your father will be fine."

Her concealment was too poor, and now the whole family was crowded in the house. Even though Baoya was a child, she knew that something serious had happened.

She clenched her hands, suddenly remembering the sourness and sadness she had dreamed of yesterday.

It turns out that acid and foreshadow this.

"Chunxiu, don't hide it from the child." Zhao Zhilan sighed and waved Baoya and Yun Chenglu to come in. "You should tell me what's going on first, so we can work together to save Sanlang."

"Yeah." He Chunxiu nodded. The incident happened too suddenly and it was her first time encountering it, so she was naturally panicked. Now that she calmed down, she began to recall what happened to everyone.

"Yesterday, Sanlang and I were making fried dough sticks in the shop. There were quite a few customers coming in for breakfast, and I was busy preparing the food while Sanlang was keeping accounts and entertaining the customers. Suddenly, two young men in their thirties showed up, carrying an unconscious old man."

"They were arguing that their father had eaten something from our shop, and he was foaming at the mouth and unconscious, and they were begging us for an explanation. Sanlang and I sent the other customers away and dealt with this matter immediately. We asked them what the old man had eaten and whether he still had the food, but they didn't know anything."

"Besides, Sanlang and I didn't have much impression of this old man. Sanlang threatened them a few times, asking them to stop causing trouble, but one of them got anxious and turned around to report us to the authorities. They brought the officers with them and came to arrest us. I tried to explain to Sanlang in every possible way, but the officers wouldn't listen and insisted on taking us away."

"It just so happened that Doctor Sun brought Young Master Rong over for breakfast. He spoke a lot for us and acted as a guarantor. The officer was afraid of the Rong family's reputation, so he let me go and informed my family, but he took Sanlang away."

After He Chunxiu said this, everyone actually understood most of what was going on. This must have been a frame-up.

But they still don't know who is trying to make things difficult for their small breakfast shop.

"Don't worry, Mom. It's so late today, and the county magistrate has to go home for dinner. Dad will be fine. Let's go to the county magistrate early tomorrow morning."

Baoya patted the back of He Chunxiu's hand and comforted her in a soft voice.

"Baoya is right. Even if this is a frame-up, since the case has been reported to the county government, the county magistrate will have to follow the procedures. Unless someone wants to harm our man, he has even bribed the county magistrate." Zhao Zhilan said.

"Let's think carefully tonight about who might be trying to harm us and how to explain it to the county magistrate tomorrow, so we don't get caught off guard."

"Yes, Mom, I understand." He Chunxiu nodded.

At this moment, Li Rongyue suddenly said, "Mom, I just remembered that when we were about to open the shop last time, the female boss who brought customers in came in person and persuaded us not to cooperate with Boss Zhu."

"Could it be her?!" Wang Cailian was shocked. "That woman is too vicious. We didn't cooperate with her in the beginning, but now that our business is booming, she comes to cause trouble?"

"No way, we just have a small breakfast shop and can't threaten their business." He Chunxiu said.

Zhao Zhilan frowned, "It's hard to say. After all, people's hearts are unpredictable. We should all be prepared."

"Okay." Several people agreed.

It was getting late, so everyone talked for a while about their own ideas and then started to prepare for dinner.

To fight tomorrow's battle well, we must conserve our energy and strength today.

After dinner, the family went to bed early, but once the lights in the east and west wing rooms were turned off, no one could fall asleep and they tossed and turned on the kang for most of the night.

Yunhua and Yunyue were afraid that Baoya would worry too much, so they talked to her and told her stories to divert her attention. The three girls chatted until the lights were turned off.

Later, Yunhua and Yunyue fell asleep in a daze, but Baoya couldn't sleep because she knew her mother must not be asleep either.

Baoya took He Chunxiu's hand again, and coaxed her to feel at ease, just like the night before the shop opened last time.

But this time, no matter how Baoya comforted He Chunxiu, it was of no avail.

He Chunxiu was afraid that the child would worry, so she closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep, but Baoya still noticed her heavy breathing.

The little girl frowned and had a bitter face. Why was she so careless this time? If she hadn't let her parents go to open the shop today, at least her father wouldn't have been arrested.

The next morning, everyone woke up very early, with dark circles under their eyes.

But what needs to be done still needs to be done.

Wang Cailian and Dalang ground beans to make tofu for Ke Laixiang; the adults were not in the mood to eat breakfast, so He Chunxiu prepared some food for the children.

Erlang and Li Rongyue greeted the craftsmen who came to build a house for their family and lent a hand; Zhao Zhilan prepared to harness the carriage and took He Chunxiu, Baoya and others to the town government office.

Several children sat quietly in the east wing, but each of them had a worried look on their face.

After finishing the household affairs as quickly as possible, Zhao Zhilan thought for a while and rushed to the town with Baoya, He Chunxiu, Wang Cailian and Dalang.

Someone had to stay home to oversee the housebuilding, so the more calm and reserved Erlang and Li Rongyue were left behind to look after the house. Bringing Dalang and Wang Cailian with them, even if they couldn't help much, at least the added strength of their numbers would help.

Sitting on the ox cart, everyone's faces looked unhappy. When Xiaodouzi came to transport the goods in the morning, he naturally heard that something had happened to Sanlang of the Yun family.

But he was very sorry. His boss had gone out for something two days ago and had not come back yet. As a waiter in a restaurant, he could not help much.

Zhao Zhilan and He Chunxiu looked at each other, and both felt that the other party might have deliberately chosen the time when Zhu Qi was not around to come and cause trouble for their family.

As soon as the ox cart arrived at the gate of the county government office, He Chunxiu could not wait even a moment. She got off the cart and rushed over to beat the drum at the gate of the county government office to protest her grievances.

She knocked for a long time before a young bailiff rubbed his eyes and slowly came over to open the door.

Seeing five people, young and old, standing at the door, they looked impatient and asked, "What are you doing? Why are you knocking so early in the morning?"

He Chunxiu was about to speak when Baoya spoke before her, "Brother Yamen Runner, my father was arrested by you yesterday, and we are here to seek justice for him."

"Your father? Your father..." The bailiff was sleepy and spoke very rudely.

But when he was halfway through his words, he looked down and saw a delicate little ball, his eyes immediately lit up. This little girl was so cute.

He squatted down, stretched out his finger and carefully poked Baoya's soft cheek, "Little sister, what did your father do to get arrested?"

"My father didn't do anything wrong," Baoya blinked her clear and beautiful eyes, "He was framed. My family owns the Kering breakfast shop, over there on Nanjiao Street."

"So the Yunji breakfast shop is run by your family!" The yamen runner was surprised and happy. He also liked to eat the breakfast from that shop.

There are many flavors of soy milk, the fried dough sticks and fried cakes are especially crispy, and the sweet tofu pudding has a unique flavor. Even he, a northerner who is not used to sweet tofu pudding, fell in love with it.

"Well," Baoya nodded, "Brother, can you let us in to see him?"
