Chapter 17: Baoya gave away her punching bag?

Chapter 17: Baoya gave away her punching bag?

Chen Chengcai, the eldest son of the Chen family, is twelve years old this year. He studies in the private school in Ping'an Town with Yun Chengfu, the eldest son of the Yun family.

However, the eldest son of the Yun family is very talented and hardworking, and has always been among the best students in the academy.

Chen Chengcai was different. He was the only son in the Chen family and he was spoiled to death. He just spent his days in private school.

Things like skipping school were something he was very familiar with. If he got bored of staying in the private school one day, he would tell a classmate he got along well with, and ask the classmate to say hello to the private school teacher and tell him that he had something to do at home, and then he would just pack up and leave.

If I go home and make up a lie to Zhou Cuihua and Chen Changshui, I can basically get away with it.

Chen Chengcai had just returned from Ping'an Town, carrying a box of books on his back. He was just walking home when he heard the rumbling sound of an ox cart passing behind him.

He originally thought that Qian Dacai had gone to the town to buy vegetables again, but when he turned around, he saw that the ox cart was crowded with people. There were four or five people of all ages sitting on it, talking and laughing, and it was very lively. Who were they?

Chen Chengcai suddenly became curious. He was no longer in a hurry to go home. He hid behind a big tree on the side of the road and waited for the ox cart to pass by.

The sound of wheels was getting closer, and he heard the voices of Old Mrs. Zhao from the Yun family, and her second daughter-in-law. Was the Yun family going to the town to sell or buy things?

But before he had time to think about it, he heard a voice that was so familiar to him.

In the carriage, Baoya was clapping and playing with Yun Chenglu.

"You clap, I clap, my Baoya is wearing new clothes." Yun Chenglu said.

"You clap twice, I clap twice, second brother is a naughty boy!" Baoya giggled.

"Hey, Baoya, you are so naughty that you dare to tease your second brother!" Yun Chenglu pretended to be angry and pinched her little face with a smile.

Is it Baoya?

Why did she go to the Yun family?

Chen Chengcai stared at the aqua-blue figure in the car with his big eyes, almost popping out of his head.

That silly girl Baoya is actually wearing new clothes?

Haha, instead of working hard in his house, he has the guts to run off to the Yun family!

He had been studying in town before, so he knew nothing about Zhou Cuihua kicking Bao Ya out of the house.

Chen Chengcai stared at Qian Dacai's ox cart passing by on the path in front of him. Although it was already dark, he could still see that the ox cart was loaded with things.

Whose family is it? Qian Dacai's or the Yun family's?

Chen Chengcai's brows were furrowed.

Because of Yun Chengfu, Chen Chengcai hates the Yun family the most.

Yun Chengfu, that nerd, spends all day in the private school showing off his knowledge and pretending to study around the teacher.

Bah! He is just trying to curry favor with the teacher so that he can pass the provincial examination smoothly!

Moreover, why did Baoya, that unlucky punching bag, also run to the Yun family?

Then who will he beat up when he gets upset and bored in the future?

The more Chen Chengcai thought about it, the angrier he became. He spat at the departing carriage, was stunned for a moment, and then ran after it.

Zhao Zhilan and her friends rode a ox cart all the way home, and the cart stopped at the door to unload things.

Hearing the noise, Wang Cailian, who was cooking in the front yard, was the first to rush out. After a while, He Chunxiu also came out, and then Yun's Dalang, Erlang and Sanlang.

Wang Cailian hadn't expected Zhao Zhilan and her friends to buy so many things this time. She stared at everything around the ox cart, "How many are these? Mom, are they all ours?"

Zhao Zhilan smiled and said, "Yes, they are all ours."

"How much will this cost?" Wang Cailian was still worried about the money. After all, they had not separated, and every month the three families paid a certain proportion of living expenses to Zhao Zhilan.

"Not much. Let's move the things in first." Zhao Zhilan glanced at her. "Why are you making so much noise, shouting at the door? Aren't you afraid that others can't hear you?"

Wang Cailian covered her mouth and stopped talking, following the three sons of the Yun family to unload the car and move things.

Baoya was carried out of the car by Yun Chenglu, and she saw He Chunxiu limping out from the back door at a glance.

She opened her little hands and rushed towards He Chunxiu: "Mom!"

If she hadn't spoken, He Chunxiu almost wouldn't have recognized that this pretty little girl was her Baoya?

She was wearing a light blue jacket embroidered with peonies, a fluffy fur collar and wristbands, and the small bun on her head was tied with a headband, making her look like a little baby from a wealthy family.

He Chunxiu originally opened her arms to hug her, but when she saw the new clothes, she withdrew her arms.

She was just washing vegetables, so she tried not to dirty the child's clothes.

Baoya had no idea what she was thinking. She rushed over and hugged He Chunxiu's thighs like a small, soft ball.

"Mom, do you miss Baoya? Baoya, grandma, second brother, and second aunt bought a lot of things!"

"Okay, Baoya is awesome." He Chunxiu wiped her hands on her clothes, then pulled Baoya's hand, "Come on, let's go inside and talk. Your two sisters have been waiting for you all day."

When most of the things had been moved, Yun Chenglu picked up a piece of cloth and followed Baoya into the house.

After all, Qian Dacai had followed them for a whole day, and he was on good terms with Mrs. Sun, and he had a young son at home, so Zhao Zhilan asked Dalang to cut a piece of meat for them.

Qian Dacai felt embarrassed: "Auntie, this is not possible. You have already paid for the car fare, how can I still ask for your meat?"

"It's okay. We have to go to town next time anyway, so we're bound to trouble you. Thank you in advance." Zhao Zhilan wrapped the piece of meat in oil paper, put it on the ox cart, and picked up a few pieces of snacks to wrap it up.

"Hey, Auntie, you're too polite." Qian Dacai had no choice but to accept it. "Next time you go to town, I won't charge you any money."

After Zhao Zhilan sent Qian Dacai away, she closed the back door and the family happily went to pack their things.

And just outside the Yun family's back door, a man emerged from the grass.

It was Chen Chengcai who had been following him all the way.

At this moment, he held a few pieces of pastry in his hands and grabbed a handful of candied fruit and was stuffing them into his mouth.

Seeing that the Yun family had closed the back door, Chen Chengcai rolled his eyes and spat at the closed door, then carried his book box and walked towards his home.

Before entering the yard, I heard Zhou Cuihua beating and scolding Chen Xiaojuan.

Chen Chengcai stood at the door and pulled out a piece of mulberry paper he usually used to write from the bookcase. He wrapped the two remaining snacks and a few candied fruits in it, then took the things and went into the yard.

"Mom, I'm back!"

Zhou Cuihua was cooking dinner while scolding Chen Xiaojuan who was washing clothes in the yard.

When she heard Chen Chengcai's voice, her eyes suddenly lit up: "Oh my! Why is my precious son back?!"

"Come, come, let me see if you've lost weight after being away for so many days."

Zhou Cuihua wiped her hands on her clothes, then rushed over and hugged Chen Chengcai.

Chen Xiaojuan was furious. How could it have been only five days since her good-for-nothing brother came back? How could Zhou Cuihua be so desperate?

She was pounding the clothes in the basin with a pestle to vent her anger, and then she heard Chen Chengcai say:

"Mom, I just saw the old lady of the Yun family bringing Baoya back in Qian Dacai's ox cart. Did you give Baoya to the Yun family?"

Zhou Cuihua's attention was elsewhere. She grabbed Chen Chengcai's shoulders, her eyes widening. "My dear son, what did you just say? Did that old Zhao Zhilan bring Baoya back in Qian Dacai's ox cart? Where did they go?"
