Chapter 25 It's a Clam

Chapter 25 It's a Clam

Baoya stared at the small basket in Jingzhen's hand. There were so many snacks in it, of various kinds, and they looked very delicious.

But she also felt strange, why these handsome little brothers would throw away delicious snacks or feed them to wolves at every turn.

What a waste, and wolves don’t eat snacks.

Jing Zhen saw her pursing her lips in silence, not knowing what she was thinking. He said coldly, "Do you want to eat or not?"

As he asked, he pretended to pick up a piece of dessert and handed it to the lonely king who was lying on the ground obediently and dared not move.

But I didn't appreciate it at all. I just raised my eyelids, glanced at him, and then turned my eyes away indifferently.

Jing Zhen: ...

Is it really okay to expose his mistake in front of him like this?

However, he suddenly felt his hands were empty.

Little Baoya actually stood on tiptoe, took his hand, and ate the snack in his hand in one gulp.

The little girl is fair and tender, with a round face that is bulging as she chews the snack. She is so adorable.

Jingzhen's cheeks flushed as he recalled the warm touch of his fingertips just now.

"Hmm, Xiao Jing Guoguo (brother), what kind of snack is this? The crust is crispy and the filling has a floral scent!" Xiao Baoya looked very satisfied as she ate it.

As she was chewing the snack, she suddenly remembered the dream she often had.

It was as if in a dream, when the fairy brother was feeding meat to these little divine beasts, she flew over and ate it in one gulp.

Jingzhen looked at the little girl who was standing there in a daze while eating snacks, looking so silly and cute.

He subconsciously curled the corners of his lips.

After Baoya finished her snacks, she felt like her stomach was finally filled with something.

She wasn't greedy. She looked up at Jing Zhen and said, "I'm done eating. Can Brother Jing take me upstairs? The cave ceiling is too high. Baoya can't climb back up."

Jingzhen originally wanted to take her through another secret passage, but after hearing what Baoya said, he decided to send her out the same way he came.

After all, this secret cave is hidden extremely secretly. Even if someone accidentally comes in once, they will definitely not be able to find it again next time.

Therefore, he sent the silly girl away this time and he would probably never see her again, so there was no need for her to know about the secret passage.

So he said, "Okay."

When Baoya saw that he agreed, she smiled again with her eyes curved.

She likes this little brother very much. Although he looks cold, she knows that he is actually warm-hearted and a very good person.

There were a few snacks in the basket, and Jingzhen wanted to pack them up for Baoya to take back as a parting gift.

Master said that every encounter is fate.

Then his meeting with this silly little girl must be fate.

"Wait here for a moment, I'll pack the snacks for you to take away." Jing Zhen said.

"Thank you, Brother Xiaojing," Baoya thanked him politely, "next time I come to see you, I'll bring you some tofu made at home."

She remembered the milky tofu she had eaten this morning. It was white and tender, and must be delicious.

Brother Xiaojing lives here alone, so he definitely won’t be able to eat.

Jingzhen looked at her innocent smile and nodded: "Well, I'll wait."

After saying that, he went to make snacks for Baoya.

Baoya was bored and played in the cave with Guwang. Guwang was a little afraid of her and kept lying on the ground, not daring to move or shout.

Baoya stroked it for a while, then had to step back a little and stay away from it so that Gu Wang would not be so nervous.

She sat down on a big rock next to the cave. Behind the rock was the pool of running water surrounding the cave, flowing quietly and forming a pool several meters square.

Baoya yawned, and suddenly caught a glimpse of a round object in the clear spiritual spring pool.

She jumped down from the big rock out of curiosity and squatted down to look at the thing. It was hard, like a tightly closed river clam.

"Baoya?"

Jingzhen took out some oil paper from the stone room where he kept some daily utensils and wrapped the snacks for Baoya.

But as soon as he returned to the secret cave, he found that the silly girl was gone.

"Brother Jing!" Baoya heard Jingzhen calling her, and quickly raised her little head and responded.

Jingzhen saw two little girls with red hairbands popping out from behind the big rock.

He strode over and handed the wrapped snack to Baoya. Seeing her squatting on the ground, he asked, "What are you looking at?"

"It's a river clam." Baoya pointed at the round thing in the stream.

Jingzhen took a look and found that it was true.

But it was strange that he had been practicing in this secret cave for so long, but had never found anything like clams in the spiritual spring pool.

Besides, aren’t river clams supposed to live in rivers?

The silly little girl seemed to be very interested in the big river clam and stared at it intently.

Jingzhen was staring at Baoya because he noticed that this silly little girl seemed to be swallowing her saliva again.

Are you thinking of the hundred ways to cook clams?

Jingzhen found it funny.

He reached out and fished the clam out of the Lingquan Pond and stuffed it into Xiao Baoya's arms: "You found it, so I give it to you."

Baoya's pair of purple grape-like eyes really lit up: "Really?!"

Jingzhen nodded. He didn't lack such things anyway. His master had everything.

But Baoya waved her hand: "No, I've already taken Brother Xiaojing's snacks. Grandma said that people should not be greedy. And we should be grateful and hold the rabbit in our arms."

"It's a way of repaying a favor." Jing Zhen said helplessly, "It's okay, there are still some clams here, you can take them."

After he finished speaking, he pointed towards the spiritual spring pond. Bao Ya looked in the direction of his finger and saw that there were indeed a few river clams in the spiritual spring pond. She nodded and accepted them.

Seeing that she accepted it, Jingzhen picked her up.

Although the little girl's clothes look round, they are not heavy at all.

In fact, Baoya has gained some weight during the time she has been in the Yun family. If it were before, she would be lighter than this.

"Have a good one."

Jing Zhen said, then he touched the ground with his toes and actually jumped directly to the top of the banyan tree with Bao Ya in his arms and stood on one of the branches.

"Wow!" Baoya opened her mouth in surprise, "Brother Xiaojing, you are so awesome! We are flying!"

Jingzhen didn't say anything, but the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

He held Baoya in one hand and groped around on the top of the cave with the other hand, pressing the mechanism lock.

A dull rumbling sound was heard, and the secret door on the top of the cave opened.

Jingzhen carried Baoya up and sent her up, while reminding her: "Don't tell anyone about me when you go home. Be careful next time and don't fall down again."

"Yeah." Baoya nodded in response, but after hearing the second half of his sentence, she felt something was wrong. If she didn't fall down, how would she see Brother Xiaojing next time?

But before she could continue talking to Jingzhen, she found herself back on the ground, and the secret door under her feet had been closed, leaving no trace of it having been opened.

Baoya suddenly felt a little lost.

"Baoya! It's Baoya!"

"Woo woo woo! Silly boy! I was scared to death!"

There were screams and cries coming from behind. Baoya turned around and saw her second brother, third sister and fourth sister who were extremely anxious.

Of course, there was also Chen Xiaojuan standing behind them with a pair of red eyes.
