The master and servant had a good relationship, and every time they ate, Jiang Liu would invite Cuizhu to sit at the table to eat.
Jiang Liu looked at Qiu Dafu and said, "Otherwise, if we set off now, we might be able to reach Huaiyuan by tonight."
Qiu Dafu disagreed, shaking his head and saying, "If we set off now, the gates of Huaiyuan will already be closed by the time we get there."
Jiang Liu hadn't really thought of that. "It was my oversight."
After finishing her meal, Jiang Liu noticed that the snow was gradually stopping and suddenly felt like going for a walk.
She had passed through this town many times, but had never strolled around it before. Now that the snow was preventing her from doing so, she decided to take a walk and relax.
She thought this way, and she did it.
Qiu Dafu took the bright red cloak from Cuizhu's hand, followed her, and personally draped it over her shoulders.
"It's cold outside, let's go back inside."
Cuizhu wanted to follow, but after thinking about it, she returned to the inn alone in silence.
She was sold to the Jiang family when she was young, and she was always thinking of Jiang Liu.
She hoped that after Miss and Tang Yi separated, Miss could find her own happiness.
Jiang Liu tightened her cloak and shook her head, saying, "I've dragged you into this; you've suffered with me on this snowy day."
Qiu Dafu stepped forward and walked alongside Jiang Liu: "There's no need for formalities between us."
Jiang Liu pursed her lips, smiled at him, and walked straight ahead.
Her touch of crimson stood out starkly in this desolate little town.
Qiu Dafu quietly followed her, accompanying her all the way.
Looking at the vendors ahead, Jiang Liu smiled faintly.
I wish I could keep walking like this forever. "This place is so nice."
Qiu Dafu envisioned a bright future, saying, "If you like, we can build the house here."
Jiang Liu looked up, "Us?"
Qiu Dafu looked directly into Jiang Liu's eyes and said earnestly, "Yes, it's us."
Jiang Liu turned her head away and continued walking.
Snowflakes began to fall again, and Qiu Dafu held up an oil-paper umbrella for her.
Because of the snow, the vendors packed up their stalls.
"Make way! Make way quickly!"
With a shout, Jiang Liu turned to look at the cart rushing towards her, but accidentally slipped.
Qiu Dafu helped her up and instinctively grabbed her forearm.
On their way, they came across a Guanyin temple.
They entered the Guanyin Temple one after the other. The temple was deserted, with not a single incense stick burning. However, the Guanyin Temple was still quite sturdy.
Jiang Liu knelt on the prayer mat and bowed to Guanyin, praying for a happy life in her later years.
Qiu Dafu followed her example and knelt on the prayer mat to worship Guanyin.
Suddenly, the sound of horses' hooves was heard, followed by a horse neighing, before it reined in its horse in front of the Guanyin Temple.
"Damn weather, how long will this snow last?"
“Master, you are injured. Let’s stay here and wait for the snow to stop before continuing our journey.”
The two people were talking outside the temple when they entered the Guanyin Temple one after the other.
Upon hearing the sound, Qiu Dafu quickly stood up, and Jiang Liu followed suit.
"I never expected that such a beautiful woman could exist in this remote and impoverished place." As Chu Tian spoke, his lustful eyes were fixed on Jiang Liu.
After he finished speaking, he didn't forget to wipe the drool that had spilled from the corner of his lips, which disgusted Jiang Liu.
Chu Tian stepped forward and reached out to hook Jiang Liu's chin, but Qiu Dafu blocked him directly.
"Get away!" Qiu Dafu grabbed Jiang Liu's arm and, feeling her trembling little hand, moved closer to her.
Chu Tian's expression immediately changed. He turned to the guard beside him and gave him a wink, "It's up to you now."
"Yes." The man nodded and suddenly struck out with his palm towards Qiu Dafu.
Qiu Dafu dodged to the side and exchanged blows, realizing that the two men were quite skilled.
He quickly drew his dagger, his entire body blocking Jiang Liu's path.
At that moment, he had only one thought in his mind: to protect Jiang Liu.
Jiang Liu was startled and filled with regret. If she had known, she wouldn't have come to the Guanyin Temple.
She pointed at the Guanyin statue and shouted, "Gods above, how dare you act so disrespectfully!"
"What's there to be afraid of? I'm not afraid of anything!" Chu Tian said, then burst into laughter.
Taking advantage of a moment of inattention, he tried to pull Jiang Liu away, but Qiu Dafu blocked him. "Don't hurt her!"
As Qiu Dafu dodged, a look of worry flashed across his face.
"How could I bear to hurt such a beautiful young woman?" Chu Tian chuckled lewdly, thinking that he would finish off the eyesore Qiu Dafu with a single sword stroke, then kidnap Jiang Liu and have some fun with her.
After thinking it over, he thrust his longsword straight at Qiu Dafu.
Despite the danger, Qiu Dafu remained calm and used all his strength to kick away Chu Tian's longsword. Then, he turned around and kicked the guard beside him.
The guard stepped back and sneered, "You can't protect this little beauty today."
Over the years, his master has never failed to win the heart of any woman he sets his sights on.
Of course, princesses are an exception.
However, as soon as he finished speaking, he saw Chu Tian stare at the dagger in Qiu Dafu's hand, his gaze clearly pausing.
Upon seeing the character "Gu" engraved above the dagger, Chu Tian's expression suddenly changed.
He had seen this dagger before, and had even been wounded by it.
Who are you?
Qiu Dafu remained silent.
Chu Tian asked again:
"Does this dagger belong to Gu Qian?"
Qiu Dafu neither confirmed nor denied it.
Upon seeing this, the guard also turned fierce.
He was about to make a move when Qiu Dafu stopped him with a single sentence.
"General Gu is nearby!"
Jiang Liu was somewhat confused.
She asked, "Who are you?"
Chu Tian suppressed his anger and did not answer, instead asking Qiu Dafu, "Where is Gu Qian?"
Qiu Dafu remained silent with a cold expression, until Chu Tian held a sword to his neck. "Will you talk or not!"
Jiang Liu's legs felt weak, and just as she was about to step forward, Qiu Dafu pushed her behind her.
Qiu Dafu, holding a dagger, deflected Chu Tian's sword blade.
"He was escorting the Crown Prince of Northern Qi, and he just passed by here, intending to send him to the capital as a hostage."
Chu Tian frowned. "Didn't you leave a long time ago?"
A few days ago, he had already rescued the Crown Prince, but because His Highness wanted him to meet him outside the city, he was sent away.
He was furious whenever he thought about it.
Qiu Dafu was thinking of ways to save himself, his mind racing: "The heavy snow has blocked the mountain, and we've been delayed. If you catch up now, you can still make it in time."
Chu Tian: "Are you being so kind?"
Qiu Dafu: "Since you recognize General Gu's dagger, aren't you two friends?"
Chu Tian was slightly taken aback. "Oh, right, right, Gu Qian and I are friends."
After saying that, he looked at his guards and said, "Quickly, chase after them!" and left.
After they left, Jiang Liu patted her wildly beating heart, feeling as if she had survived a disaster.
She looked at their tightly clasped hands and said, "Just now, I almost dragged you into this again."
"Jiang Liu!" Qiu Dafu's voice was hoarse as he hugged her.
At that moment, he suddenly realized how weak he was. Recalling what had just happened, he felt a lingering fear.
Jiang Liu patted him on the shoulder. "I'm not afraid, but you are. Let's hurry up and leave. It wouldn't be good if those two came back."
"Okay, let's go." Qiu Dafu released Jiang Liu.
Jiang Liu said she wasn't afraid, but she was terrified inside.
Because her legs were weak, she took a step and suddenly felt a pain in her foot. The feeling was quite unpleasant.
Qiu Dafu noticed her unusual behavior and quickly asked, "What's wrong?"
Jiang Liu: "I twisted my ankle."
