Zhang Yuyan, who was watching from the shadows, was completely stunned by this scene.
Could it be that these two are going to go all out in their acting?
The concubines in the Zhang family were all eyeing her mother covetously, wanting to take her place.
Unfortunately, her mother was a soft-hearted person, and if it weren't for her daughter standing up for her, she would have died countless times over.
Qiu Yan used considerable force, causing Aunt Feng to stumble and fall, scraping her hands and hurting her knees.
Looking at Qiu Yan again, she had pushed someone, yet she just walked away as if nothing had happened.
Aunt Feng was furious. She sat sideways on the ground and shouted:
"Help! Help!"
A passing guard ran over upon hearing the commotion, "Aunt Feng, what has happened?"
Aunt Feng steadied her breathing and pointed with one finger at Qiu Yan's thin back in front of her.
"Quickly seize that woman! She's trying to harm the lady's unborn child!"
Zhang Yuyan glanced at Aunt Feng and felt ashamed of her behavior.
Everyone in the Zhang household knows that Madam Zhang's health is now of paramount importance.
The guard didn't know if what Aunt Feng said was true or false, but he had to obey Aunt Feng's orders, so he quickened his pace and blocked Qiu Yan's way, "Stop!"
At that moment, Qiu Yan happened to walk to the gate of the Zhang residence.
Blocked again, Qiu Yan had nowhere to go, so she shouted, "Get out of my way!" Then, she pushed the person aside and continued forward.
She was still thinking about shopping and didn't have time to deal with Zhang's affairs.
Under Aunt Feng's orders, the guard persisted. Qiu Yan picked up a stone from the ground with one hand, and with a slight movement, smashed it into his knee.
The nurse's knee was aching so badly that he had to bend it, roll to the side, and groan in pain.
Qiu Yan glanced coldly at Aunt Feng, who had caught up with her, then smirked and strode out of the courtyard.
She's not someone to be trifled with; if you're thinking of causing her trouble, you'd better be prepared.
In the shadows, Zhang Yuyan suddenly realized that she seemed to have... misunderstood Miss Qiu.
This isn't acting; this is clearly for real.
And this Miss Qiu seems like someone you shouldn't mess with.
She quickened her pace, caught up with Qiu Yan, and called out, "Hey!"
How rude!
Qiu Yan did not raise her eyes or change her pace.
Zhang Yuyan stopped in her tracks and pouted. She was the daughter of the Zhang family, so why was Qiu Yan ignoring her?
She murmured to herself, "What's with the swagger?"
Qiu Yan left the Zhang residence and strolled around, preparing for the New Year.
After my younger brother and sister take their vacation, I'll buy them new clothes and then we'll go home together for the Lunar New Year.
Along the way, she bought tea, wine, oil, sauces, roasted nuts and seeds from both the north and south, as well as sweets and fruits. Gradually, she carried quite a few bags and packages in her hands.
"Get out of here, get out of the way." A disdainful shout caught her attention.
Looking up, I saw a middle-aged man in tattered clothes being chased out of the pawnshop by a servant who was cursing and swearing.
"Young man, this medical book is an heirloom from my ancestors, you should..."
"Look at your tattered book, it's yellowed and has wormholes."
"You're even trying to pawn such a tattered book? We've already said no, no! If you don't leave, don't blame us for being impolite!"
After pushing the middle-aged man out of the pawnshop, the young man angrily went back inside. "What kind of people are you dealing with!"
Qiu Yan stared at the man for a moment and recognized him.
Isn't this the same Dr. Hu from Renaitang?
Doctor Hu recognized Qiu Yan, but since the two were not very familiar with each other, he pretended not to see her and lowered his head to leave.
"Doctor Hu, please wait." Qiu Yan hurried a few steps and called out to him.
