Qin Susu took the water pouch and gulped it down in one go.
After the battle, she was covered in sweat, and now she felt even colder. Her forehead felt dizzy, and her snot was flowing like a burst dam. She felt terrible.
"I really want to find a place to take a good bath. Xiaoyan, I miss your warm bed so much."
A cold wind swept by, and Qin Susu shivered. As if to claim credit, she took out several money pouches.
"All of this is what I earned."
"You earned it?" Qiu Yan asked, puzzled.
"Yes, they were taken from the corpse." Qin Susu said, as she poured out all the copper coins.
I counted them and was greatly disappointed.
"All the money bags together only had forty-eight copper coins, but at least there was one silver ingot."
That's far too little; it's not even enough to cover the cost of her clothes.
Qiu Yan: "Something is better than nothing."
She lifted Qin Susu's collar, revealing a glaring knife wound on her shoulder.
Afterwards, she cleaned Qin Susu's wound briefly, then took out a bottle of white porcelain ointment and gently applied it to Qin Susu's shoulder.
Qin Susu felt a deep warmth in her heart.
She shrank back, not from pain, but from the cold; she was so cold.
"Xiaoyan, you're so good to me. Shall we become sworn sisters?"
“Okay.” Qiu Yan agreed immediately, and before Qin Susu could be too happy, she continued, “I am the older sister, and you are the younger sister.”
Qin Susu's surprised expression froze on her face. "How can this be? I'm two years older than you, Xiaoyan. From now on, you'll call me 'older sister.' Say it now so I can hear it."
Qin Susu was enjoying herself immensely. Just thinking about Qiu Yan calling her "sister" made her feel so happy and accomplished.
Qiu Yan shook her head and sighed, "But your IQ is only that of a ten-year-old. I'm sixteen this year, so am I old enough to be your older sister?"
This idiot wants to be her older sister? She can't bring herself to call him that.
Outside the car, Ling Ba couldn't help but chuckle.
Ling Qi nodded repeatedly, and he joked:
"No way she's ten years old. Miss Qin's IQ is at most that of a three-and-a-half-year-old."
"You..." Qin Susu puffed out her cheeks, looking displeased.
This is even worse.
She's only three and a half years old, is she really that bad?
"Can a three-and-a-half-year-old child protect herself?" At least for now, she is safe and sound.
"They're coming." Qiu Yan's words made Qin Susu stand up straight. "We can't fight anymore!"
She looked up and saw a troop of enemy soldiers vaguely appearing in the distance, which immediately put her on alert.
She was trying to concentrate, but before she could, the speed of the carriage jolted her so much that she vomited, not even bothering to wipe her snot.
Even so, she kept calling out.
"Faster, faster!"
"Quiet down for a bit!" Qiu Yan's words silenced Qin Susu.
She had a headache from Qin Susu's constant nagging.
Take another look at the area behind you.
Those people were all infantrymen; catching up with them wouldn't be easy.
They quickly shook off the Northern Qi army behind them.
Next, they continued their journey while dodging enemy troops.
The further they traveled, the fewer and fewer the Northern Qi soldiers became.
They dared not stop, fearing they might encounter a large enemy force.
As the day drew to a close, they intended to find a small town to rest temporarily, but along the way, they did not see any small towns, though they passed through quite a few villages.
However, the presence of villages does bring a sense of life and warmth.
That's right, the villagers here are very hostile towards them.
They're unfamiliar faces, after all.
It wasn't just the four of them; during the war, the villagers were very hostile to outsiders.
