The garrison commander of Fu'an City was terrified when he learned that Gu Qian was personally leading the attack.
General Gu was renowned far and wide; how could he not be afraid when he personally came to attack the city?
Below the city gate, heavy crossbows fired frequently, unleashing a continuous barrage of arrows.
The siege continued...
Nine days and nine nights
The soldiers led by the Qin colonel continued to challenge the enemy outside the city.
"Listen up, those above! Our general has said, those who surrender will not be killed..."
By the tenth day, the soldiers of Fu'an City could no longer hold out.
The city gate has been breached...
"General Gu, we surrender, we surrender..."
The garrison commander of Fu'an, holding a white flag, rode out to greet them.
Captain Qin wiped the sweat from his forehead and laughed heartily, "Why didn't you do this earlier? You've wasted so much time."
"Who ordered you to surrender?"
As soon as the stern words were spoken, a figure suddenly appeared in the shadows, standing right in front of Gu Qian.
Immediately afterwards, a sharp blade was drawn, pointing directly at Gu Qian.
However, before anyone could get close, they were blocked by the spear of Captain Qin beside him.
"General, who is this?" he asked Gu Qian in confusion.
Gu Qian said coldly, "The Crown Prince of Northern Qi, but he won't be for long."
"Nonsense!"
Qi Heng, his brows furrowed in anger, swung his sword at Gu Qian again, this time with increased force.
Although he knew that what Gu Qian said was true, he still refused to believe it.
Captain Qin tried to stop them again, and in just a few moves, the two were locked in combat.
Qi Heng's entourage followed suit.
Qi Heng knew that they were no match for Captain Qin, but he was still seething with anger and couldn't help but feel resentful.
Clearly, Qi Heng was slightly inferior to Qin Xiaowei.
Soon, all of Qi Heng's followers were personally killed by Commandant Qin, their blood splattering on the spot.
Qi Heng was heartbroken and fled all the way. Of his original dozen or so personal guards, only three remained, and now they had also died at the hands of Dong Jin.
"Gu Qian, if you have the guts, come at me! I, the Crown Prince, will fight you to the death!" Qi Heng's eyes were bloodshot.
Gu Qian bullied and humiliated him, making his position as crown prince feel incredibly stifled.
"General, let me personally execute him!"
Having said that, he swung his spear and thrust it directly at Qi Heng's neck.
Qi Heng had no time to dodge and closed his eyes to face his death.
But Gu Qian waved his hand to stop him.
"Wait!"
After Gu Qian finished speaking, he dismounted himself and pushed aside Qin Xiaowei's spear.
"General, what do you mean by this?" Captain Qin was puzzled. Since this person was the Crown Prince of Northern Qi, why not kill him as soon as possible?
"His Highness the Crown Prince is my benefactor, and even more so, my friend."
Captain Qin: "My esteemed friend?" He was completely bewildered.
Qi Heng: "Gu Qian, what trick are you up to now?"
Gu Qian smiled but did not answer, and waved to Qi Heng.
"Go, I'll let you go for now."
Lieutenant Qin: General, what's wrong?
Feng Qi merely turned around, glanced leisurely at Qi Heng, then turned back, leading the soldiers behind her, and rode her horse into the gate of Fu'an City.
Unexpectedly, Captain Qin beat her to it; though he was a commoner, he was quick enough to act.
"Brother Feng, you flatter me." Captain Qin said in a rough voice, but Feng Qi remained silent with a cold face.
Qi Heng frowned deeply; he had originally resigned himself to death.
He didn't believe that Gu Qian would let him off so easily.
But he didn't want to die.
"Why should you let me go?" Qi Heng's eyes were filled with doubt and fear, but there was no room for wishful thinking.
"What's the point of killing a useless person? It's better to do him a favor. If you don't leave now, this general will regret it!"
Qi Heng was filled with trepidation. He quickly spurred his horse, turned around abruptly, and disappeared from Gu Qian's sight without looking back.
