The consciousness of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is gradually returning.
He slowly stood up, his eyes filled with disbelief.
He looked at He Jinran:
"You... saved me?"
"Isn't it obvious?" He Jinran thought to himself, "He's acting like a fool."
"I wanted to kill you, why did you save me?" Nineteen thought she was doomed.
He may not have seen today's sun, but he may see tomorrow's sun.
"You're overthinking it. I just want to use you." He Jinran's kindness, after all, has its limits.
"What, you want to kill me?"
When He Jinran asked that question again, Qiu Xu's eyes were fixed on Nineteen's movements.
He moved his arms slightly, but they eventually fell to his sides.
"Even a suicide squad has moments when they can't bring themselves to do something?" He Jinran joked, but his vigilance towards Nineteen never lessened.
"Tonight, I'm going to infiltrate the assassin camp, and I need your help. I don't need much help; just lead the way carefully, and once I find the camp, I'll set you free."
Qiu Xu: Is Xiao Ran playing with fire and getting burned? No, with him here, he won't let that happen.
"Freedom." In Shijiu's mind, these two words had never existed.
"Yes, freedom. From now on, your life is your own. You can do whatever you want. You'll never have to live those dark and hopeless days again." Although He Jinran disliked the assassins, he sympathized with their plight.
Nineteen was stunned for a moment, but he still couldn't understand the meaning of freedom.
"Without a waist tag, you can't get in."
Qiu Xu: "Where's your badge?"
Suddenly, Nineteen reached for his waist, his eyes instantly dimming.
"It's lost."
In the eyes of these assassins, losing their waist token was tantamount to losing their lives; upon returning, they would be executed on the spot.
"I'm going to lose my life." As he spoke, he looked around for his sword, preparing to slit his throat and end his life right then and there.
However, even the sword was lost.
"Fool, you'll be free soon. Nobody will want your life anymore."
He Jinran's sudden remark made Shi Jiu doubt her previous understanding once again.
"They won't let me go."
"You almost died yourself, and you're still thinking about your master?" He Jinran genuinely had no idea what was going on in the minds of these assassins.
"Master, you must not disobey!" Nineteen said in a firm and measured tone, leaving He Jinran speechless.
"Why would you acknowledge him as the owner of weapons for killing?"
"Master is master, and always will be master!" Nineteen's eyes were filled with unwavering determination.
In his mind, his master was a sacred being, whom he could never disobey.
Anyone who harbors disloyalty towards their master is disloyal to him.
"What a stubborn fool!" He Jinran glanced at Nineteen, about to correct him, when Qiu Xu said...
"Run!"
Qiu Xu grew impatient as He Jinran continued talking.
The longer they stay, the greater the risk of being caught.
Little did they know, He Xuan had been watching this scene unfold for quite some time.
"Does Your Highness regard my Prince Yi's residence as your own vegetable garden?"
A deep, resounding explosion.
He Jinran had another flash of inspiration.
Qiu Xu, on the other hand, wished he could disappear into a crack in the ground; he was so embarrassed.
He had a gut feeling that He Xuan's martial arts skills were stronger than his own.
He clasped his hands in a fist salute to the Wing King.
"Uncle Yi, I'm here to find someone. I'll be leaving now."
He Jinran continued speaking, and together with Qiu Xu and the bewildered assassin, they quickly left.
Behind him, He Xuan's face was as black as charcoal.
The three quickly left the mansion.
"Xiao Ran, should we take this person back to the General's Mansion?" Qiu Xu thought to himself, "Now, Xiao Ran should calm down."
At least, things will be quiet tonight.
Unexpectedly, this kid is in a great hurry and wants to take action tonight.
"Uncle, you go back first."
"Xiao Ran!"
Qiu Xu couldn't persuade Xiao Ran, and the three of them appeared under the bright moon.
He Jinran: "Nineteen, who is your master?"
Nineteen glanced back and met He Jinran's gaze; her indifferent eyes and brows were filled with ignorance.
He Jinran: "Don't know?" This assassin must be mentally challenged. "Where is your assassin camp?"
"Shadow Division is..." Nineteen pointed to the northern horizon with one finger, "over there."
He Jinran: "Take me there."
Qiu Xu... that little brat of yesteryear has become increasingly successful.
"It's very dangerous." Nineteen shook his head seriously.
He Jinran: "Danger? With my uncle here, what do I have to be afraid of?"
His words put immense pressure on Qiu.
Qiu Xu: "You should inform your parents first."
"No," He Jinran shook his head, "If I tell Father and Mother, can I still go?"
Qiu Xu couldn't persuade He Jinran, so he had to give up.
"Let's go to the mass grave first."
What are you going to the mass grave for?
"Take off their clothes."
As soon as Qiu Xu finished speaking, He Jinran understood.
Nineteen's clothes were lost last night.
In the pitch-black night, the two of them, along with Nineteen, walked through a mass grave.
At the mass grave, He Jinran arrived.
He covered his mouth and nose and gagged.
A cold wind blew by, making his hair stand on end, and he quickly hid behind Qiu Xu.
"Uncle, aren't you afraid?"
To be honest, he was scared.
"If I'm afraid, I won't come." Qiu Xu was afraid too, but he wanted Xiao Ran, his sister, and his brother-in-law to be at ease as soon as possible.
Since Xiao Ran insists on sneaking into the assassin camp tonight, he will accompany her.
Nineteen, however, showed no emotion whatsoever when he saw the corpse of his former comrade.
As He Jinran looked at it, he couldn't help but think of what his father had said yesterday: "Inhumanity."
Death squad members, truly cold-blooded.
He watched helplessly as Qiu Xu stripped off his clothes and his identification badge from the pile of corpses.
I thought to myself, "Uncle, what are you made of?"
He Jinran: "Why are you all stripped down to your bare body?"
Qiu Xu: "Leave one person outside to provide backup."
Led by Nineteen, the two headed towards the suicide squad camp.
The suicide squad was stationed in a secluded mountain.
During the walk, halfway up the mountain,
By this time, it was past the hour of Chou (1-3 AM).
He Jinran: "Nineteen, you are free."
Everyone knows that now, and there's no point in Nineteen following him.
"Kill them," He Jinran thought. "Even though the assassins are puppets, they are still human."
Now that he can't go back, let's spare his life.
"Freedom?" Even in death, Nineteen still longed to return and report.
He followed behind He Jinran.
However, He Jinran cleaved him halfway down the mountain with a single palm strike.
"You stupid idiot, we don't need you here!"
Qiu Xu and He Jinran jogged down the hillside.
Before long, the stone gate came into view.
"Xiao Ran, I'll go in and look for clues. You stay outside and provide backup." Qiu Xu took the assassin's uniform he had stripped from the dead body and was about to put it on when He Jinran stopped him.
"No, I'll go!"
How could Qiu Xu let He Jinran take such a risk?
"You stay here!" After saying that, he quickly dressed, showed He Jinran the musket at his waist and the ammunition in his hand, and ran towards the camp gate.
Without a thorough plan, he would certainly not dare to take the risk.
After all, you only have one life.
