As the sandstorm swept by, Qiu Yan shielded her eyes, squinting slightly.
"Cough cough..." Qin Susu choked on a mouthful of sand and cursed under her breath.
"This damn sand. Xiaoyan, are we going to have to spend the night here? Are there any wild animals around here? And are those camels dangerous?"
"Camels don't hurt people. Get up and hurry up, there might be some people ahead."
"Hmm." Qin Susu narrowed her eyes, and she and Qiu Yan mounted their horses and continued on their way.
Soon, the sky darkened until it became pitch black, and they saw no one else.
They were exhausted and hungry, and their throats felt like they were stuffed with cotton, making them uncomfortable.
"I can't take it anymore... It's so cold." Qin Susu dismounted, took out two outer garments from her bundle, handed one to Qiu Yan first, and then put it on herself.
Even after putting it on, she still felt cold.
Fortunately, the two discovered an abandoned stone wall.
They tied their horses to the edge of the stone wall, huddled behind the sheltered wall, and fell asleep...
They were shivering with cold at night, much colder than the night before.
The two huddled together for warmth and finally got through the long night.
It really was so long.
They got up early in the morning, the sun was shining brightly, and they continued on their way.
"Xiaoyan, do you think we've taken the wrong turn?"
If you make the wrong choice, it will be a huge loss.
Qiu Yan: "It shouldn't be wrong."
That old man wouldn't lie to them.
Didn't he say that on the way to the State of Lu, he would pass through a desert?
They continued on their way.
Throughout the journey, Qin Susu, the foodie, kept complaining of being hungry.
She even fought with the horse to eat grapes.
Four more days of long travel have passed...
Their rations were all gone, their water bags were empty, and they had no more grapes.
Even though Qiu Yan had been frugal and constantly on guard against Qin Susu throughout the journey, she still couldn't completely prevent her from falling into Qin Susu's trap.
Qin Susu's eyes gleamed with green light
"Isn't it supposed to be three days? Why isn't it over yet? I'm starving."
"If you hadn't kept talking the whole way, we wouldn't have gone hungry."
Qiu Yan's stomach was growling with hunger, and the horse was too weak to walk.
They had no choice but to dismount and let the horses walk on their own.
They were so hungry they were dizzy and disoriented.
Looking up, I saw a few tents scattered in front of me.
There were voices and camels.
"Xiaoyan, we're saved!" Qin Susu cheered.
Without thinking twice, she rushed straight into a tent.
Then, he fell headfirst into…
He fell flat on his face.
She was so hungry she felt dizzy and lay on the ground, unable to get up for a long time.
Looking up again, I found myself surrounded by a group of people.
How embarrassing!
There were men and women.
Their appearances were as strange as the two soldiers before them.
They had high noses, deep-set eyes, and blond, curly hair.
However, the clothes they were wearing were slightly different.
The man wore a short robe with a lapel, narrow sleeves, and a belt, and boots that went above his knees. He had a long sword behind him.
Women's clothing is much simpler.
They wore cotton shawls around their heads, knee-length skirts, narrow sleeves on their left shoulders, and bare right shoulders.
What they had in common was that they were all wearing high boots.
Qin Susu admired herself for being able to judge the clothing and appearance of the group of people by her own observation skills even when she was hungry and thirsty.
As Qiu Yan approached, everyone's gaze immediately fell upon her.
She nodded slightly to everyone, forcing a faint smile onto her stiff face to ease the awkwardness caused by Qin Susu.
