Ling'er, dressed in pink silk, was so lifelike, just like a cheerful little bird.
"Sister Song Jiao, oh no, I'll still call you Master Song Jiao, are you here to congratulate my second uncle as well?"
Song Jiao pursed her lips. "Second Miss, it's been quite a while since you've learned to play the seven-stringed zither. Have you become rusty?"
"No." Qiu Ling'er lowered her head. She had been practicing the zither these past few days, but Song Jiao hadn't been there to tutor her.
“Master Song Jiao, why don’t you stop staying at Xingyue Tower and follow my sister like Master Su Su and Master Bai Lu?”
As Qiu Ling'er spoke, she looked at Bai Lu and Qin Susu, who were not far away.
"We should ask the young lady's opinion on this."
As Song Jiao spoke, she looked at Qiu Yan, who was following closely behind.
To escape Tang Yi's pressure to get married, she wanted to stay away from Xingyue Tower.
"So, you agree?" Qiu Ling'er smiled brightly, her eyebrows curving upwards.
As Qiu Yan listened to their conversation, she wondered what Song Jiao's intentions were.
She was thinking that just a few days ago, she had been discussing with Gu Qian about having him deal with Song Jiao's brother, Qin Feng, first.
Their relationship is quite complicated.
Looking at Bai Lu again, Qiu Yan suddenly had a feeling of being deep in enemy territory.
But it doesn't seem like it.
However, caution is always the best policy.
She already knew from her younger sister about Qiu Ling'er acknowledging Bai Lu and Qin Susu as her masters.
Qin Susu had no objections, but the White Dew... really made her uneasy.
Behind her, Bai Lu and Qin Susu looked on curiously at the woman who had suddenly appeared.
Qin Susu exclaimed, "So this is how elegant Ling'er's music teacher is. She looks like a lady from a respectable family."
When Bai Lu saw Song Jiao's beautiful eyes, she felt they looked familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had seen them before.
“Miss, Song Jiao has come to congratulate Second Uncle.” Song Jiao nodded and bowed slightly.
Then, she looked at Bai Lu and whispered, "Feng Qi?"
Then, her gaze fell on Bai Lu's lower abdomen.
She still sports the same simple and neat hairstyle as before; the only difference is that she's no longer dressed in tight-fitting clothes.
But even with her loose sleeves and wide clothes, she couldn't hide her pregnant belly.
Bai Lu recognized the person as soon as she heard the name Song Jiao.
Before she could answer, Qin Susu interrupted:
“Miss Song Jiao, you’ve mistaken her for someone else. Her name is Bai Lu.”
"I'm sorry." A hint of apology flashed across Song Jiao's face. "I mistook you for someone else. So, you're also Ling'er's master."
Perhaps she really mistook someone for someone else.
She and Feng Qi had only met a few times before and had no contact with each other.
Bai Lu nodded slightly to Song Jiao, her expression unchanged, and then suddenly turned around.
As soon as she turned around, she met Ling Qi's questioning gaze. She glanced at him coldly and walked straight out of the courtyard, leaving Qin Susu looking puzzled.
"Sister Bailu, where are you going?"
Bai Lu: "Go out and see if there's anything else I can help with."
Qin Susu followed and walked out, but was blocked by Ling Qi.
"Qin Susu, don't forget, the general wants you to stay by Xiaoyan's side at all times, not Bailu."
Well, Qin Susu was just curious about Bai Lu's identity and wanted to find out.
She turned around and went back behind Qiu Yan.
"You're so thoughtful." Qiu Yan pulled Song Jiao over and led her to a side room, instructing Madam Cao to serve tea.
She truly hadn't expected that Song Jiao would come to congratulate her second uncle.
Could Song Jiao have some ulterior motive?
Song Jiao gave her the impression of being as pure and innocent as paper, so it shouldn't be true.
Hopefully, she's overthinking it.
