Lightning flashed out and bit into his wrist.
In an instant, the masked man's wrist was a bloody mess.

Lightning's ears twitched. He had indeed retreated, but not completely; he had only retreated halfway.
It dodged the masked man's attack and bit down on his neck.
The masked man's face turned pale. He forcefully pried open the lightning fangs with both hands, then hurled them heavily towards a nearby tree.
Zhu Juan caught up, and just as she got close, she heard a loud thud, followed by the mournful howl of lightning.
"Lightning!" Zhu Juan tried to support Lightning's body, but couldn't move him.
Seeing the masked man quickly chasing after Gu Xiaoran, she rushed forward and blocked his path.
