Chapter 942 I Miss Him

“Come and take a look. The soldiers’ thatched huts are really shabby. How can anyone live in them?”

"What's so interesting about this?" Ling Ba thought to himself, seeing Qiu Yan walking towards Qin Susu, and followed her.

The thatched huts were randomly erected, in five rows in total.

Outside the thatched hut was a stove made of stacked stones.

Inside the stove were dirty, unwashed bowls and chopsticks.

The bowls and chopsticks were piled up like a small mountain, covered with ash stains.

The environment here can be summed up in three words: dirty, messy, and terrible.

Qiu Yan tried hard to ignore her inner unease.

She glanced at the three scattered buckets beside her, none of them had lids, and it was easy to imagine that they were full of sand and dust.

Looking further ahead, there was a well that the soldiers had dug at some unknown time.

Qiu Yan shook her head and started washing the dishes on the stove, trying to distract herself from the moment.

Ling Ba cooperated by washing the bucket and then fetching water.

Qin Susu followed Qiu Yan and started working together. "Xiao Yan, what's wrong? You look like you have something on your mind."

"I'm fine." Qiu Yan smiled at her and continued what she was doing.

"Oh... I know, you must be missing General Gu, right? Haha, I always thought you were invincible, I never thought you would fall ill with lovesickness."

Qin Susu laughed as she spoke, but then she noticed Qiu Yan's worried expression and immediately stopped laughing.

"Xiaoyan... I'm sorry, I was just joking."

Qiu Yan waved her hand dismissively, "You didn't say anything wrong, I just miss him."

Qiu Yan felt a pang of sadness as she thought of him. For the first time, she missed a man so much.

A bitter smile appeared in Ling Ba's eyes, and deep within them was a barely perceptible bitterness.

"Uh...you're right." Thinking about it carefully, Xiaoyan and General Gu haven't seen each other for a long time.

Qin Susu placed a hand on Qiu Yan's shoulder. Although she couldn't fully understand Qiu Yan's feelings, she felt she could share them.

"I'll think of him with you."

Qiu Yan: "..." She looked up, suppressing a laugh, and stared intently at Qin Susu. "What did you say?"

Uh… that sounds a bit strange. Qin Susu sighed.

She did want Qiu Yan and General Gu to meet as soon as possible, but they were separated by thousands of miles, so it wasn't something they could just arrange to meet at any time.

"I think about him for you."

Qiu Yan looked speechlessly at the idiot beside her: "Speak less and do more work."

If she didn't know Qin Susu's temperament, she might have been jealous.

Ling Ba had some doubts about how Qin Susu had managed to survive until now. She was both stupid and foolish.

Qin Susu: "Sigh, if you miss him, why don't we go back?" Anyway, they've found the saltpeter, and Ling Qi has already escorted back two cartloads of saltpeter.

She doesn't like it here at all.

They're more comfortable staying in their own country.

As Qin Susu spoke, Ling Ba kept his eyes fixed on Qiu Yan.

He shared the same idea as Qin Susu.

Qiu Yan shook her head; she wanted to be Gu Qian's loyal supporter.

Then, she sent Ling Ba out to buy things.

After all, Ling Ba had been here for more than half a month and was quite familiar with the terrain.

Ling Ba rode Qiu Yan's horse to the market.

After Ling Ba left, Qiu Yan was dissatisfied with the soldiers' original stoves. She insisted on dragging Qin Susu along and using a few stones to rebuild a more suitable one.

What could Qin Susu say?

She was completely obedient to Qiu Yan.

Even though she was extremely unwilling.

Fortunately, it was just a simple stove.
